ECW Results 02/26/08 - A Threat To Be Reckon With!

Good Evening to all. No time for commentary today folks as I am needed in personal matters. Thanks and I hope you enjoy the report.
Tonight’s ECW report is brought to you from the great city of Tucson , Arizona.
ECW theme song “Don’t Question My Heart” begins to play.
Main event for tonight is announced to be for the Number 1 contender ship for the ECW championship. Winner gets to face Chavo next week for the title.
CM Punk vs. Elijah Burke vs. Shelton Benjamin.
Match 1: Kelly Kelly and Kofi Kingston vs. Layla and Santino Marella
The match will start off with the ladies. Layla immediately tags in Marella which means that Kingston will also come in. Both Kelly and Kingston work together and hit a double dropkick on Marella. Kingston gets Marella in the corner and starts to throw some fists in the way. Marella quickly rolls to the outside to catch a breather. Marella and Layla start to get into an argument on how Marella is handling the match so far. Kingston realizes this and takes advantage by pulling Marella from his head to try to bring him back into the ring. Morella however reverses this and holds on to Kingston ’s head and drops down. Marella quickly goes into the ring to stop Kingston from regaining any strength. Marella hits a leg sweep as Kingston was trying to get up. The match then progresses into where we see Morella clotheslining Kingston . Morella whips Kingston into his corner and starts to distract the referee so that Layla would take advantage on Kingston . Morella then turns his attention back to Kingston and locks in an armlock. Kingston struggles but manages to find a way out by turning the situation to his favor. He gets a roll up pin on Morella for the 1…2…NO! Morella kicked out in the knick of time. Morella comes back quickly to stop the momentum from rising by throwing fist after fist on Kingston . However Kingston doesn’t go down without a fight and they seem to brawl it out. The match progresses and Morella gets the tag to Layla. Morella hits a bubonic elbow on Kingston and down he goes. Layla then looks as if she wants a piece of Kingston but suddenly from behind Kelly hits a clothesline. They then start to fight it out and Layla whips Kelly into the corner. Kelly rises to the top rope and hits a diving crossbody on Layla. She goes for the pin and gets 1…2…Nope! Morella interferes with the referee’s count. Kingston jumps right into the mix and handles Morella. Kelly sees her opportunity and hits a standing inverted leg drop for the win.

Match 2: Mike Knox vs. Stevie Richards
The bell starts to ring and here comes the lock up. Knox overpowers Stevie into the corner. Stevie manages to get out and pulls Knox into the corner. Knox battles out with so clubby fists and Stevie goes to the defensive side. Stevie comes back with some much needed kicks to the legs that keep the big man on his toes. The match continues further and Knox uses the ropes to choke out Stevie and weaken the injured neck. Knox then locks in a sleeper hold and Stevie struggles. Stevie starts to fight out with some elbows but Knox quickly hits a clothesline. He goes for the pin but only gets a 2 count. He gets up and hits a major leg drop and covers to get another 2 count. Knox locks in a headlock to keep the pressure going. Stevie gets him off and hits some much needed chops that buy him some time. Just when it seemed as if Knox would go for back to the offensive Stevie hits a boot right into the chest. Knox gets up however and hits a running shoulder block on Stevie. Stevie comes back with a few clotheslines and hits the Stevie T for the 1..2..3.
Winner of the match: Stevie Richards
We cut backstage and see Dreamer is trying to get Collin’s spirit up by stating he could one day be champion. Collin asks if he could one day get his own entrance music.

Raw rebound is shown. The rebound is Mr. McMahon’s apology to Hornswoggle and JBL stating that Hornswoggle was Finlay’s son.
Match 3: The Miz and John Morrison vs. Tommy Dreamer and Collin Delaney
The match will start up with the Miz and Dreamer. They both lock up and Miz whips Dreamer off the ropes but he returns with a shoulder block. Dreamer then starts to gain some ground. Miz then hits the mid section of Dreamer with a boot and tags in Morrison. Morrison comes rushing in and Dreamer arm drags him. He gets Morrison up and hits a snap suplex. Just when you thought the pain would end Dreamer hits a elbow right into Morrison. Dreamer then starts to work Morrison over near his corner and Delaney tags himself in. Delaney springboards himself onto Morrison and it gives Delaney some new hope. Delaney rushing with spirit attempts to hit a clothesline on Morrison but fails and Morrison beats some sense into him. Morrison gets the tag to the Miz and Miz pulls Delaney’s hair and throws him right into the mat. The Miz then locks in a headlock and Delaney is starting to struggle. Miz grabs onto Delaney’s hair and throws his face right into the mat once more. He tags in Morrison which set up a double team move. Morrison moves in for the pin and gets only a two because of Dreamers interference. Morrison begins to pound on the head of Delaney and tags in the Miz. Miz comes in and locks in a headlock to keep Delaney struggling. Delaney tries hard but all is loss and Miz takes him down. Miz then sets Delaney up for a suplex but Delaney reverses the impact and lands on both of his feet. Delaney gets the tag for Dreamer and Dreamer explodes into the scene. Dreamer starts to throw fist after fist at Miz and gets him into the corner. Dreamer whips Miz into the corner and hits the clothesline. Morrison then quickly comes in to save his teammate but Dreamer saw it coming and pulled out his arm which Morrison collided with. Morrison rolls out of the ring. Miz who bumps into Delaney in the ropes gets a Dreamer DDT. Dreamer goes for the pin and gets 1...2...3!

We cut to the back and see that Morrison and the Miz are arguing over the match. Lena comes over and tells them about the rumor about Dreamer and Delaney getting a tag team title shot. Morrison and Miz both agree that the wish for it to happen.

Match 4: CM Punk vs. Shelton Benjamin vs. Elijah Burke
The match begins and it seems as if Burke and Benjamin have made an alliance. Out of the blue Benjamin hits a quick kick to the head of Burke and out he goes. Benjamin and Punk now stand in the ring and are about to face off. They lock up and Punk whips Benjamin. Benjamin comes back with a clothesline and runs back to the ropes. Punk comes back with a shoulder block. Punk picks up Benjamin and Benjamin retaliates with a fist to the head. In comes Burke. Punk arm drags Burke away from him. The match continues and Burke gets Punk into the corner. He begins to throw fist after fist right at Punk. Burke gets a headbutt in and punches him down. He goes for the pin and gets a two count. The match then continues and Burke hits Punk right into the mid section with a boot. Burke gets whipped to the ropes and Punk gets a back body drop. Punk then manages to get Burke standing on the side of the ring and goes and hits a triangle dropkick that knocks off Burke. Benjamin comes out from nowhere and hits the inverted bulldog and quickly goes for the pin. He gets a two count because Punk’s foot was on the ropes. Benjamin stands but then Burke pulls him out of the ring and they get into a fist fight.

We come back and see that Punk is covering Burke and only gets a two count. Punk then whips him into the corner. Punk runs right at Burke but Burke throws him over the ropes. They begin a struggle to see who will get the leverage to hit a suplex from the middle of the ropes. Benjamin jumps into the ring and jumps over Burke to the outside floor. Benjamin then powerbombs Punk right into the outside floor. Benjamin throws Punk in to try and get the pin but Burke hits a baseball slide and Benjamin is out. Burke goes for the pin on a weakened Punk and gets 1…2...NO! The count was interrupted by Benjamin. They begin to get into a fist fight and Benjamin gets the early advantage on Burke. The match continues further and Burke hits Benjamin right into the mid section. He gets Benjamin right in the middle ropes. Burke takes this opportunity and jumps over the ropes and pulls down Benjamin’s head into the ropes. Burke then makes his way to the top rope. Benjamin leaps right on the top and hits a suplex. Benjamin goes for the pin but was interrupted by Punk. Benjamin then hits a spinning kick on Punk. The match continues and Benjamin is whipped right into the corner. Punk runs and hits his clothesline and is setting up for the bulldog. Burke however has plans of his own and hits a dropkick to Punk on the back of the head. Burke then goes for the pin but only manages to get a two count. Burke then starts to drag Punk out of the way so he could get his hands on Benjamin. He hits a clothesline on Benjamin but Benjamin manages to hold onto the ropes. Benjamin however decides to let go and rest on the outside. When Burke turns around Punk gets him into the GTS. He goes for the pin and gets 1...2...3!
