    Raw Results 2/11/08

    Raw is taped tonight. If you've read the spoilers, you know what to expect. For those that haven't, here's your weekly Raw Report. Tonight, Raw is in Austin, Texas once again!

    Hornswoggle v. Mr. McMahon in a No DQ match

    The match starts out with Vince trying to stare down Hornswoggle. Finally they lock up, but Vince pushes him around without issue. He finally dares him to slap him, and he does. Vince gets ready to beat Hornswoggle down, taking off his belt. Finlay appears in street clothes, and Vince grabs the mic and says that if he interferes in the punishment, he's fired. Vince tells him not to throw his career away for friendship and loyalty. He orders Finlay out of the ring. He then calls Finlay a coward, only to get caught by a Shillelagh. Hornswoggle then climbs up the ropes and hits a tadpole splash for the win.

    Your Winner: Hornswoggle

    Backstage, Vince is being attended to by the staff. Regal asks what he wants, and Vince says to get dismissal papers, because tonight, Finlay will be fired.

    Y2J v. JBL

    They lock up until the ref seperates them. Again, they lock up, only to be seperated again. JBL headbutts Jericho on the break, and gains control until he misses a big boot. Jericho knocks JBL out of the ring, and throws him into the guard rail and steps respectively. JBL is thrown back in the ring, and Jericho begins kicking him. Jericho torques the neck and bites JBL, showing a much rougher side. Jericho then turns JBL over and attempts the Walls, but JBL gets to the ropes. Jericho hits a baseball slide that sends JBL to the outside. Jericho then throws him back in the ring and delivers a few Flair-style chops. JBL thumbs the eye, and both men are reeling. JBL hits a big boot, followed by another kick to Jericho's face. Jericho is thrown into the ropes, but counters with a front kick and a spinning heel kick. JBL goes to the apron and kicks Jericho as he goes for a springboard.

    -commercial break-

    We return with JBL hitting a Clothesline from hell. JBL takes control from here and stomps a mudhole into Jericho. Jericho builds a comeback with some slaps, but gets caught in a sleeper. JBL gets a 2 count, and sets up Jericho for a superplex. As he's sitting atop, JBL hits him a few times, only for Jericho to kick him away and hit a flying forearm sending both men to the mat. Y2J gets a 2 count. Jericho comes up fighting, hitting a forearm and shoulderblock, and a stair step enziguiri followed by a missile dropkick. Y2J covers, but JBL kicks out at 2. Jericho goes for a crossbody but is caught. JBL goes for a fallaway slam, but Jericho reverses into a DDT. Jericho tries for a pin, but JBL grabs the ropes. Jericho then catches a kick to the face. JBL goes for a clothesline from hell, but Jericho dodges and lands the Codebreaker for the win.

    Your Winner: Y2J

    After the match, Umaga attacks and hits a Samoan spike on Y2J. He then gives one to JBL. So much for JBL's "insurance policy."

    We come back to Mike Adamle hyping Cena/Orton for No Way Out.

    Regal has all the paperwork ready to fire Finlay but Vince has a change of heart. Vince says no, he's out for revenge. Next week, Finlay won't be able to help his little buddy. It's Hornswoggle vs. Vince in a Steel Cage next week.

    Paul Birchill v. Brian Kendrick

    They start with the standard tie up, with Birchill slaping on an arm lock, turning it into a hammerlock. Kendrick manages to break it and lock one of his own on Birchill. Birchill breaks the hold and knocks down Kendrick with a shoulder block. Burchill goes on the offense, using the ropes to get advantage. Burchill hits a nice clothesline and locks in an chin lock. Kendrick manages to come back with a nice offense of kicks, but misses a cross body block. Burchill grabs his arms, and stomps his head into the mat. Burchill then hits a modified swinging neckbreaker, and we have a winner.

    Your Winner: Paul Burchill

    John Cena v. Mark Henry

    Orton comes out to do color commentary for the match.

    Henry starts out by catching Cena in midair and straight slamming him to the mat. Henry beats on Cena for awhile, throwing him directly into the turnbuckle and knocking him down. Henry pulls the turnbuckle pad off, but Cena begins fighting back, only to catch a few fists from Henry in return. Henry locks in the full nelson, releasing it and sending the former champ to the ground. Cena finally gets to his feet as Henry misses a splash onto the exposed turnbuckle. Cena hits a shoulderblock from the top rope, and locks in the STFU for the win.

    Your Winner: John Cena

    Cena jumps out of the ring and confronts orton. He grabs the mic and says that he's officially 100%. He says that he's stronger than he's ever been. Orton has seen what Cena did to a 450 pound man, and Cena is more focused than he's ever been. For once, he's not the hunted, Orton is the hunted. This Sunday, there's no injuries, and no excuses. For Orton, there is no way out.

    Kennedy comes out, saying he wants an answer from Flair. Flair's music hits and the Nature Boy comes out decked in a suit. He comes down to the ring, grabs a mic, and says that they're obviously not on the same page. Flair, for 35 years worked 7 days a week for guys like Kennedy to work 100 days a year. Kennedy says Flair doesn't know whats good for him. Flair says once again, he wanted him to forfeit, but he couldn't be any closer, and the answer is no. Why? Because he's been the champion 16 times, and he knows Kennedy respects that, because that's what he wants to be once. He says Kennedy has a great future, but it won't be at the expense of the Nature Boy. At No Way Out, Flair will walk the aisle and live to fight another day. Kennedy repsonds by seemingly giving Flair his due, but hits a dropkick out of nowhere on Flair's injured leg. Kennedy then mocks Flair's strut. Incredible promo.     Melina v. Maria

    Melina starts things off with a takedown turned into an arm lock, but Maria gets to her feet. Maria takes a clothesline to the gut, and then gets put in the corner and takes a double knee shot to the gut. Melina hits some elbows to the back of the head and puts on a crazy looking abdominal stretch. Maria breaks the hold and starts to fight back. After a few shots, Maria hits some clotheslines and even manages to hit a gutbuster. Melina is thrown to the corner, and Maria hits a bulldog. Jillian Hall grabs the mic and screams into it before kissing Santino. Maria is distracted, and Melina rolls her up for the win.

    Your Winner: Melina

    Santino grabs a mic and says he's sorry. He says it's what happens when you associate yourself with Playboy. He talks of a Playboy curse, mentioning how both Candice and Torrie are injured, and that Ashley isn't injured but the things in her mouth are ugly. Santino tells her that she has to choose between him and Playboy, and that she has one week to decide.

    Jeff Hardy v. Shawn Michaels

    They tap hands, but they start going at it and a near fall by both competitors sets a quick pace. Hardy in control early, knocking Shawn out of the ring. Hardy misses a splash to the outside but lands on his feet only to be slapped by Michaels. Back inside the ring now, Hardy gets a headlock but HBK gets to his feet only to be put down by a shoulderblock. Hardy then reverses a sleeper by HBK into a belly to back suplex. Hardy gets a near-fall, and keeps the head locked in a vice. Shawn back to his feet again, as he hits a back elbow on a charging Hardy. HBK with a few slaps on Hardy, but Hardy puts HBK in the corner, who subsequently skins the cat. Hardy comes in right on top of him, but Shawn crossbodies off the top for another near-fall. Hardy hits the side headlock takeover again, and torque's HBK's neck. HBK gets control, sending Hardy over the ropes. Hardy lifts himself up and over back into the ring, but HBK meets him with a clothesline. Michaels picks up Jeff and puts him into the turnbuckle, slapping him some more. Shawn then kicks Hardy and goes for a suplex, but Hardy hits an inverted atomic drop with both feet. Michaels then ends up out of the ring after a spinning mule kick, and another baseball slide by Hardy. Hardy then jumps on the rails and presses onto Shawn. As we go to break, a close-up of Hardy reveals that his lip ring has been torn and he's bleeding.

    -commercial break-

    We're back with HBK in control, dropping elbows on Hardy's lower back. Shawn sends Jeff into the turnbuckle and Jeff hits the floor. A near fall by Shawn leads him into putting Hardy in the corner again, and again Hardy falling down. Shawn locks in a bow-n-arrow lock, but Hardy fights out with two hard elbows to HBK's face. Michaels hits a backbreaker and gets another 2 count. Hardy gets control after a few punches, but when going for a back body drop, HBK hits a neckbreaker, and gets another 2 count. HBK puts Hardy in the corner and delivers 2 more chops, followed by a bodyslam. Michaels gets on the middle rope, but instead grabs Jeff's leg and puts it in a half boston crab. Hardy reaches the ropes, and Shawn breaks the hold. Hardy fights back with an enziguiri, and both men are down. Michaels is in the corner now, and Jeff gets whipped into the opposite side. Shawn goes for a splash but hits the ringpost and gets sent back the other way to the corner. Hardy mounts and tries to hit the superplex, but HBK punches him off but MISSES a big flying elbowdrop. Jeff gets a 2.9999 count. HBK is hit with a lariat takedown, and both men are down. Hardy gets control and ends up hitting a whisper in the wind. Michaels kicked out of a 2 count, reversed the twist of fate into a jawbreaker, clotheslined him, nipped up, reverse atomic drop, elbow drop, and warmed up the band. Shawn locks in his Heartbreaker Submission. Hardy struggles and finally gets to the ropes. HBK gets back to his feet and tries for the lock again, but Hardy kicks him away. HBK goes for a Sweet Chin Music but Hardy reverses it into a Twist of Fate, goes to the top rope, and hits the Swanton for the win!

    Holy... match of the night. Match of the Year Candidate. This belongs on DVD, soon.


    No commentary or ratings tonight, I'm very busy with school and such. However, it was an excellent Raw despite it being taped. Prayers go out to HHH and family, who are grieving over a death in the family. We're behind you all the way, Hunter.
