Raw Spoilers 2/11/08 + Live Report for 2/4/08

I’m doing this from memory so some parts may be incomplete but the order is correct (I took lots of pictures to remind me)

    Dark Match:
    Charlie Haas def. Val Venis
Val gave his towel to Rick the Sign Guy. Funny stuff with Haas coming out in a black singlet, getting knocked out of the ring, going under the ring, and re-emerging in a red singlet and red mask. Val gets the mask off but Haas has a second black mask (to match the original singlet) and forces Val to submit to the Haas of Pain.

Raw 2/4 you already saw, they played a WM 23 recap video (MVP apparently only had an entrance at the show, no match whatsoever) before the first taping. Raw XV Flashback before the second taping.

    Raw 2/11/07

Hornswoggle def. Mr. McMahon in a No DQ match
Started out with Vince trying to get Horny to slap him; when he finally does, McMahon is about to go crazy but Finlay runs down to protect Horny. Vince reminds Finlay that he could get fired and that his family doesn’t want that to happen. Finlay decides to do nothing and Vince tells Horny that Finlay is a coward. Vince tells Finlay to leave, he doesn’t, and Vince shoves Horny out of the way which leads to Finlay knocking Vince upside the head with the shilele (sp?). Hornswoggle hits the Tadpole splash for the win

Backstage Regal asks Vince if he can do anything for him. Vince says later tonight Finlay will be fired.

    Chris Jericho def. JBL
Long match, about 15-20 minutes, but not that great. Ended when Jericho reversed the Clothesline from Hell into a Codebreaker. Afterwards Umaga runs down and spikes Jericho then JBL. Both are helped to the back.

Video airs on Flair’s career. Lots of NWA/WCW footage.

Regal has all the paperwork ready to fire Finlay but Vince has a change of heart. He announces Hornswoggle vs. Vince in a Steel Cage “next week” (the night after No Way Out)

Paul Birchill (with Katie Lea Birchill) def. Brian Kendrick
Nobody knew who Birchill was and I got weird looks for cheering him. Lea gets the mic and introduces herself. She says that she enjoys watching her brother inflict pain on people. Paul gets the mic and says that what his little sister wants, his little sister gets. Short squash with Birchill winning with the Roll of the Dice/Test Drive move. Birchill and Lea get a little frisky with each other on their exit. No heat whatsoever.

    John Cena def. Mark Henry
Orton did color commentary. Basic Cena squash which saw him win with the STFU. Afterwards Cena gets on the mic and tells Orton that he’s 100% and he just inflicted that much damage on a 450 pound man, so imagine what he’ll do to Orton. He says that the title is his and Orton will have… No Way Out.

Kennedy comes out and says it’s decision time for Flair. Flair walks out, totally waking up the dead crowd (we were hot at first but try sitting through 4+ hours of wrestling and see how much you feel like cheering). Flair says he won’t back down and says Kennedy should respect that Flair hold the belt 16 times in order for Kennedy to hold it once. (or something like that, I’m really butchering a great Flair promo). Segment ends when Kennedy dropkicks Flair’s bad knee.

Melina (w/ Jillian) def. Maria (w/ Santino at commentary)
Eh match. Maria had it one but Jillian grabs a mic and starts singing, then goes and slips Santino the tongue. Maria gets rolled up for the loss. Santino gets on the mic and tells Maria that that meant nothing but she has to choose: either him or Playboy. He makes out with her and Maria looks upset.

    Jeff Hardy def. Shawn Michaels
Awesome match. Went about 30 minutes. Lots of nearfalls and finisher teases. HBK hit an elbow drop at one point but could never hit the Sweet Chin Music. Finish came when Jeff reversed SCM into a Twist of Fate and hit the Swanton for the victory.

No dark matches, but the show finished up around 10:30 CST. Lillian thanked us for coming and said we were awesome. She didn’t say whether they’d be back or not (for the record, the last time she said Raw would return to Austin soon was in 2004)

Overall it was a good show but the lack of Triple H was odd. However, getting to see Flair, HBK, and Vince for the first time live was awesome.

  • Hornswoggle defeated Vince McMahon in a No DQ match after Finlay hit Vince with the shillelagh.

  • Backstage, Vince McMahon announced that he would publicly fire Finlay later tonight.

  • Chris Jericho defeated JBL in a good match. Umaga came out and laid out Jericho, then JBL after the match.

  • In another backstage segment, Vince McMahon changes his mind about Finlay, saying he won't fire him, but instead will force him to watch Vince vs. Hornswoggle inside a Steel Cage, next week.

  • Paul Burchill and Katie Lea debut their new brother and sister characters as Burchill defeats Brian Kendrick.

  • John Cena pinned Mark Henry with the F-U. Randy Orton is doing commentary. After the match, Cena gets in his face and says he's 100% and focused on the belt. Orton does nothing and won't even look at him.

  • Ken Kennedy called out Ric Flair and again gave him a chance to forfeit their match at No Way Out. Flair refused, so Kennedy attacked the leg MVP injured on Smackdown.

  • Melina (with Jillian Hall) defeated Maria (with Santino Marella) after Jillian distracts Maria by kissing Santino. Santino apologies to Maria, then blames it on Playboy. He tells her that she has one week to decide between doing the magazine or being with him.

  • In what was described as a good, long match, Jeff Hardy pinned Shawn Michaels with the Twist of Fate.
