When Cena had surgery for his torn pectoral muscle four months ago, WWE reported that he would out for six to nine months. In recent interviews, Cena has been saying that he is on the same recovery schedule, which made last night's return a surprise to say the least.
Cena and WWE recently received word that he was physically cleared to wrestle. They had Cena do an about face to keep his true health status a secret to people. In recent interviews, he'd shoot down speculation of him wrestling at WrestleMania.
Regarding his upcoming movie, "12 Rounds," the filming schedule for the film was greatly exaggerated by Cena. He said in recent interviews that filming would run for about five months. It will actually only take four to six weeks as that's how long WWE's permit to shoot in New Orleans is for.
The belief is that Cena's shooting scheduling will enable him to make appearances at WWE events to build to WrestleMania, since unlike The Marine, they are filming in the U.S. as opposed to Australia.
