Christmas Edition ECW: A Look Back At 2007

    Hello and Merry Christmas to all! Tonight’s edition of ECW is a reflection of all the extreme and entertaining moments that occurred over the past year! I have taken the time to search through all the reports involving any ECW matches and combined them in providing a report that the WWE showed as their 82nd edition of ECW.

    Umaga, Shane McMahon and Mr. McMahon v. Bobby Lashley in a Handicap Match


    Shane and Lashley start out. Lashley spears Shane big time and clotheslines him in the corner. Lashley with a huge spinebuster to Shane. Vince mocked Lashley saying don't make me come in there. Shane tags to Umaga. Umaga with a kick to Lashley's face. Umaga charges at Lashley who jumps over him and nails a clothesline. Umaga with a headbutt but Lashley then clotheslines Umaga over the top rope. Lashley throws Shane to the outside. Lashley dares Vince to come into the ring. Shane does though and gets a delayed vertical suplex for his troubles. Lashley drop toe holds Umaga and Shane low bridges the ropes and Lashley goes to the outside. Lashley gets thrown shoulder first into the steel steps by Umaga. Umaga with a leg drop in the ring. Shane tags in who applies an armlock. Lashley counters with a one armed powerbomb for a two count! Shane tags to Umaga who kicks Lashley in the ribs. Umaga with a bear hug but Lashley fights back until Umaga nails a samoan drop. Umaga tags to Shane who nails elbows to Lashley's hurting back. Shane applies a camel clutch but Lashley picks up Shane on his back and drives him back first into the corner. Lashley with a t-bone suplex and body drop. Lashley picks up Shane and nails a torture rack back breaker and then spears Umaga! Lashley nails the dominator on Shane and covers but Vince breaks up the count! Lashley grabs Vince and goes for the dominator but Umaga nails the thumb to Lashley's throat and Shane follows up with nailing Lashley in the head with the ECW title. Vince wants to be tagged and is. Vince covers but only gets a two count. Vince is pissed and Lashley rolls up Vince but Shane breaks it up! Vince tags Umaga and tells him to finish him. Umaga goes up top and nails a huge splash. Vince tags back in and covers but again only a two count! Vince tags out to Umaga again who goes up top and nails another splash and Vince tags in and pins Lashley for the win!

    The ECW Originals v. The New Breed


    Sabu started against Striker, w/ Sabu using an early series of springboard leg lariats to dominate. He then set Striker up with his neck laying across the top rope. Sandman tagged in and hit a leg drop off the top rope onto Striker’s neck and upper back. Dreamer and Sandman used a double back elbow and double elbow drop to build momentum, but the New Breed gained control soon after with some cheap heel tactics. Cor Von tagged in and hit an underhook suplex on Dreamer before teaming up with Burke for a double back drop. Thorne tagged in and splashed Dreamer in the corner. He then locked on a rest hold. Thorne eventually used a modified spinebuster to give the New Breed total control. Cor Von came back in and hit a float-over suplex for a near fall. Dreamer came back and hit an awkward reverse DDT and neckbreaker combo on Cor Von and Burke. Tommy crawled to the corner and tagged RVD. Van Dam cleaned house and singled out Striker. He then clocked Thorne with a diving karate kick before catching Striker with a monkey flip out of the corner. RVD scored with Rolling Thunder, but Cor Von dragged him outside and clotheslined him. Sabu caught Cor Von with a plancha over the top, while Dreamer gave Striker a DDT. Van Dam hit the Five Star Frog Splash on Striker for the win.

    The ECW Originals v. The New Breed (Extreme Rules)


    We join it in progress, Sabu with a two count on Striker. Sabu with a springboard off the middle rope into a DDT. Camel Clutch on Striker as all men enter the ring and brawl. RVD goes under the ring and gets weapons. Sabu with a trash can on Cor Von, Dreamer with a lid on Burke. Sandman up and over to the outside on Striker. Sabu off the opposite ropes, off the chair and over to land on Burke. Thorn attacks. In the ring, Dreamer sends Striker into a corner with a trash can. Cor Von in, Dreamer into the ropes, drop toe hold sending Dreamer into a chair. Burke in the ring, stomps to Dreamer, Striker with a trash can lid, Cor Von with a stop sign and Thorn with a chair. Holy shit, I can't keep up! The Originals try to storm the ring, but are thwarted by The New Breed. Thorn continues the assault on Dreamer with his cane, two count. Dreamer grabbing Thorn, DDT with Burke on a neck breaker. Cor Von into the corner. Sabu runs, off of RVD's back and into Cor Von. RVD with a spinning heel kick. Rolling Thunder on Striker, leg drop by Sabu! Sabu runs to the corner, caught by Cor Von. Powerbomb. Two count broken up by Sandman. Burke with a trash can to Sandman, Burke caught with a stop sign by Dreamer! Burke in the tree of woe, Sabu sets up a chair. Dreamer off, JUMP, DROP-KICK! One handed powerbomb by Dreamer on Striker on the trash can! Cor Von with a chair to Dreamer. Sandman with multiple kendo stick shots. Clothesline by Cor Von. Cor Von catches Dreamer, spinning drop with Dreamer onto a chair. Cor Von with the POOOOOUNNNNNCCCCEEEE on Sandman. Two chair shots to Cor Von by RVD and Sabu. Thorn in, chair to Sabu and a clothesline to RVD. Thorn sets up a table in the corner. Thorn attempting a Crucifix, RVD counters, to the corner and up top. Ariel jumps o the apron and knocks RVD down. Thorn picks RVD back up, Sabu with a chair shot to Thorn! Table set up in the middle of the ring by Sabu. Thorn on it. Sabu up top! RVD UP TOP! DOUBLE LEG DROP! DOUBLE LEG DROP! ECW! ECW! ECW! Striker in with a stop sign, Sabu flips him over the top. Elijah Burke with the Elijah Express, sending Sabu into the table head first! 1-2-3. The New Breed wins.

    ECW Championship: CM Punk vs. John Morrison


    Lock up but Punk with a front face lock. Nitro with a spinning arm drag. Punk counters with kicks and nails a kick to Nitro’s legs forcing Nitro to do a complete backflip! Punk jumps over the ropes and nails a cross body. Nitro counters and jumps the ropes and nails an enziguri for a two count. Punk runs into a clothesline from Nitro. Nitro then with a drop kick. Nitro applies a neck vice but Punk fights out and Nitro nails a back breaker. Nitro back with the neck vice but Punk counters with an enziguiri. Nitro and Punk fight back and forth but Punk gets the better nailing a drop kick. Punk runs into a elbow from Nitro and Nitro covers and puts his feet on the ropes but only gets a two count. Punk with a clothesline. Punk goes for the GTS and Nitro rolls through with a sunset flip but Punk sits down and covers but only gets a two count. Punk nails a high knee and running bulldog. Punk jumps the ropes and Nitro ducks. Punk runs into a knee from Nitro and Nitro places Punk on the ropes and nails a flipping neckbreaker! Nitro covers and gets the win!

    ECW Championship Match: CM Punk v. John Morrison


    CM Punk has known he has what it takes to be ECW Champion. On ECW on Sci Fi, he proved it. After emerging victorious from a Fatal Four Way battle a week earlier, the Straightedge Superstar earned his fourth and final chance against John Morrison for the gold. This time, with untouchable confidence, he succeeded.

    ECW Championship Match: CM Punk v. The Miz v. John Morrison


    CM Punk defeated The Miz & John Morrison in a Triple Threat Match to retain the ECW Championship. Although it was a rather quick match, it was a very solid way to open up the PPV. Punk took out Miz early on with a quick kick to the head followed by sending both Miz and Morrison to the floor. Miz and Morrison started double-teaming Punk in the ring until Miz shoved Morrison away. Morrison sent Miz to the floor until both started exchanging offense in the ring. Morrison hit a quick corkscrew from the corner on Miz, but Punk broke up the pinfall attempt. Impressive spot saw Punk hit a huricanranna on Morrison from the top rope which sent Morrison into Miz who hit Morrison with a quick powerbomb. Punk with a bulldog and and underhook backbreaker on Miz. The finish saw Miz take out Morrison sending him to the floor and Punk hit the Go To Sleep on Miz for the win.

    Kane & ECW champion CM Punk vs. Big Daddy V & Mark Henry (with Matt Striker)


    Punk and Henry started off. Henry shoved him down. Punk came back with several kicks to the thighs. He tried to single leg takedown Henry but was beat down. Punk nailed a drop toehold in the corner and began nailing him with punches. Kane tagged in and they worked over Henry briefly. Punk tagged back and nailed a dropkick but was caught with a clothesline. V tagged in. He kicked Punk in the gut, then chopped him in the corner. Punk fired back with chops and punches. He charged at V but was nailed down to the mat. V tossed him to the floor, where Matt Striker kicked him while he was on the ground. V hiptossed Punk over the ropes back into the ring. V pressed and dropped Punk. Henry tagged in and stepped over Punk's prone body. He choked Punk. Punk backed into a corner but was smothered with a boot to the face. Henry beat Punk down and charged him in the corner. Punk avoided the charge and tagged Kane. Kane went right after Henry with a running clothesline in the corner. He nailed a second, then a big boot to the face. Henry didn't go down, but finally did when Kane nailed a flying clothesline off the top. Kane called for a chokeslam, then nailed V in the corner. That allowed Henry to run Kane into the corner, where he was double teamed.

    V caught Kane with a sitdown powerbomb, but Punk broke up the pin with a dropkick to V's back. V clotheslined Kane down as Punk tried to rally him in the corner. V splashed Kane's back and smothered him with his weight and he peppered him with punches. Henry tagged back in. V nailed a running splash in the corner. Henry locked on a bearhug as Kane staggered out of the corner. Kane battled to escape and was nearly able to tag Punk but Henry dragged him back to the opposite corner. V and Henry continued to work over Kane. Kane finally fired back with punches on V, but was taken out with a clothesline. Henry tagged back in and was drilled with a DDT. Kane made the tag to Punk who went right after Henry and V with punches and kicks. He nailed V with a pair of knees in the corner, but was shoved off while going for the bulldog. Punk dropkicked V, who went down to one knee. Henry went after Punk but Kane attacked him and they went to the floor. Punk went for a springboard clothesline, but Striker jumped on the apron. Punk nailed him. Punk dove into the ring but V caught him on his shoulders and hit a Samoan Drop, scoring the clean pin.

    At the very end of this broadcast, a video package was shown reflecting the best 2007 ECW moments with the background theme “Don’t Question My Heart” playing as the final edition of ECW of the year came to a finish.


    From the introduction of new superstars, to shocking championship moments, to strange romances, to monsters & behemoths and an all new talent exchange program between ECW and Smackdown, 2007 was a successful year in the Land of Extreme!
