WWE Smackdown Results 12-21-07

    Hello everyone! Smackdown is brought to you tonight from Rochester, New York. I am your new Smackdown reporter Christopher Huynh. I am here to give you an early Christmas present for you the report of your life. Without further ado I’m going to layeth the Smaketh down for you.

    Smackdown opens up with Teddy Long rolling Vickie Guerrero down the ramp in her wheelchair. Michael Cole and JBL then show us a promo of how Edge became the new World Heavyweight Champion by using the Major Brothers help get the win over The Animal and The Deadman.

    Teddy Long then introduces the General Manager Vickie Guerrero who then introduces Edge.

    Edge’s intro plays.

    Edge then gets crowned by Teddy Long who is ordered to do so in Vickie’s place. Edge then shows his newly won gold and starts to thank Teddy Long and the Edgeheads. He then thanks his special help The Major Brothers who then enter the ring. The Majors start to talk about who they really are. Edge then says that he has to thank a special person and asks to roll some footage.

    The footage shows Edge working out while Vickie supports him. Also how they went to parks and picnics together. It ends with them kissing in a passionate way.

    Edge then states that he has to thank one more person. With a dramatic pause, he states that he has to thank Batista for taking his place as champion while he was away, but then states that he doesn’t need to worry about holding the show together because now he’s back. He then promises that he still will be the champion by the end of the show.

    Michael Cole and JBL state a 6 man tag team match including the team of Rey Mysterio, C.M Punk, and Kane vs. MVP, Big Daddy V, and Mark Henry. They also state a tag team match between Finaly and Hornswoggle and The Great Khali and Ranjin Singh.

    **Commercial**

    Michael Cole states the main event and then delievers the message that JBL will be making his farewell address tonigh.

    Khali and Ranjin Singh enter the arena with Singh doing a Khali kind of gimmik

    Michael Cole then shows promo that shows how Finlay had Hornswoggle do a Shaleliegh low blow on Khali for Finlay to get the pin.

    Finlay and Hornswoggle enter

    Match #1 Finlay and Hornswoggle Vs. The Great Khali and Ranjin Singh

    The match begins with Finlay and Khali going at it. Khali gets the early advantage by getting Finlay in the corner and throwing punches, kicks, and elbows. Khali gets the big boot on Finlay then picks him up for the front slam. Just then Singh wants to get in the ring and demands that Khali tags him in. Khali tags Singh in but it seems that the referee is counting for Khali to go to his teams corner. With that distraction Hornswoggle makes his way around the ring to pull down Singh pants. Singh chases Hornswoggle towards their side and Hornswoggle throws a bucket of feathers on Singh then hits him with the bucket. Hornswoggle then gets out an umbrella and shields himself from something. Singh confused turns around to see Finlay who then throws a bucket full of water at him. Finlay then pushes Singh back into the ring and does a big swing to him. Then he tags in Hornswoggle who does a frogsplash from the top rope to Singh for the 1-2-3.

    Your Winners: The team of Finlay and Hornswoggle

    Match stars: This match gets a 3/5 stars. It was pretty amusing on how many funny antics they used in this match.

    Michael Cole then states that Ric Flair returns tonight.

    Tribute to the troop’s promo plays

    **Commercial**

    Ric Flair comes out with his suit and states that he is going to face Triple H in 11 days and that he wants the game to fight him with everything that he has and that if he lost he knows that he lost to the best.

    Michael Cole and JBL show the 6 man tag team match Rey Mysterio, C.M Punk, and Kane Vs. MVP, Big Daddy V, and Mark Henry.

    **Commercial**

    Maryse welcomes us back to the show.

    Rey Mysterio enters the arena with a major pop.

    CM Punk enters the arena.

    Kane enters the arena.

    Big Daddy V and Mark Henry come out with Matt Striker.

    MVP enters the arena.

    Match #2 Mysterio, Punk, and Kane vs. MVP, Big Daddy V, Mark Henry

    The match begins with Henry and Kane who lock up. Henry gets the early lead and gets Kane backed into the corner and throws some big punches on Kane. Kane gets back into the game with a throat thrust and tags in Punk. Punk gets some momentum but gets pushed back by Henry who tags in MVP. MVP gets some advantage over Punk and eventually gets Punk right into a headlock. Punk struggles out and whips MVP on the ropes and MVP does a shoulder block to Punk. Punk then gets up but MVP yet again hits another shoulder block. Punk gets up gain only this time he counters MVP with a martial arts kick. As the match progresses Punk gets a corner clothesline bulldog set up but as soon as the clothesline was over MVP pushed off Punk. Everyone then gets into the ring.

    **Commercial**

    We come back and see that Punk and MVP are still in the ring battling back to back. Punk gets the advantage and tags in Mysterio who does a seated senton on MVP and goes for the pin only to get a 2 count. The match progresses and Mysterio gets the advantage over MVP and almost obtaining the 3 count. Mysterio tags Punk in and things heat up as MVP tags in Big Daddy V. Punk tries to knock him off his feet with some running clotheslines but Daddy reverses the third attempt into a sidewalk slam. Then he starts to step on Punk with his near 400 pound body. He then tags in Henry who kicks Punk while screaming that he likes to do kicks. Henry then tags Daddy back in and Daddy gets in a huge gorilla press on Punk. He then walks on Punk again and tags MVP in. MVP goes to quick work with Punk and starts attacking the head with a headlock. As the match later progresses Kane goes at it with MVP when he unloads a bunch of clotheslines. Kane then knocks off the two big guys. Kane looks as if he is going to finish MVP off but he sees Daddy coming in the ring and tags in Mysterio so that he can deal with Daddy outside the ring. Rey starts to pick up some speed and eventually gets MVP in the 619 position but Henry intervenes and stops Mysterio. Henry starts to attack Mysterio after he gets the legal tag. Punk who has seen enough of the two to one way beat down he starts to deal with MVP and gets him outside the ring by pulling down the ring ropes. Punk then dives through the ropes and tackles MVP to the floor. In the ring Mysterio pulls on Henry’s leg and Henry falls onto the second rope. The whole arena knows what is coming next and Mysterio goes for the 619 on Henry. Henry dazed then turns around to see Kane who does a chokeslam to Henry. Mysterio seizing the opportunity goes for the frog splash pin for the 1-2-3.

    Your Winners: Mysterio, Punk, Kane

    Match Stars: This match gets a 4/5 stars because of the way the momentum swung. It kept me interested and was a pretty good match to begin with.

    Armageddon PPV Promo is shown. It shows the Smackdown’s main event.

    Then the World Heavyweight Championship match promo is shown.

    **Commercial**

    Smackdown Rebound shows how the match between Jamie Nobel and Chuck Palumbo went down.

    Michael Cole shows a clip of how the date between Michelle McCool and Jamie Noble went. The overall date was really funny because Noble felt insulted by the waiter and expected to get French fries in a Italian restaurant. Also he gave her some old spice cologne to McCool to remember how he smells like. At the end of the date he attempted to do the pull the table cloth from the table with dishes on top trick, but he failed miserably and dishes came crashing the floor.

    Armageddon PPV encore presentation promo is aired

    **Commercial**

    We’re back and Justin Roberts the announcer announces a Santa Match and introduces Deuce.

    Deuce comes out with a Santa Claus shirt on with the sleeves ripped off and gets accompanied by Domino in a Santa hat and Cherri.

    Festus comes out with Jesse in a full Santa gimmick and carries a sack to the ring.

    Match #3: Festus w/ Jesse vs. Deuce w/ Cherri and Domino (Santa Match)

    As soon as the bell rings Festus goes on a rampage and totally dominates Deuce into the corner with some hard closed fists. Deuce somehow manages to fight back and starts a fist fight with Festus in which Festus got the better of and did a front powerslam on Deuce. Later in the match Deuce gets the upper hand and starts to choke out Festus with the ring ropes. Deuce then starts to aim at Festus’s legs to keep the big man down. Deuce gets Festus in the position for a hard kick to the back of the head and Deuce goes for the pin only to get a two. As the match progresses Deuce has thrown Festus out of the ring for Domino to probably get a quick beat down on Festus but Jesse knowing this comes over and stops it before it begins. Festus gets on the ring side but Deuce takes yet another cheap shot by pulling on Festus’s head on the rope and choke him out. Deuce goes for the pin and only gets a 2. Deuce attempts to put Festus out of his misery but Festus retaliates and hits a one handed flapjack and gets the 1-2-3. After the match Festus returns to his calm normal self.

    Your Winner: Festus

    Match stars: This match gets 3/5 stars because well it wasn’t to good or wasn’t so bad.

    JBL’s farewell address is coming up next!!!

    **Commercial**

    JBL starts off his address by telling the world that his comeback is going to be the greatest comeback in the world’s history. He states that he made Smackdown what it is today. He also starts to say that Jericho is the least of his worries and that Jericho had what was coming to him. He says that he isn’t going to Monday night Raw to be a team player or become one of the roster but to win the WWE Championship. He ends his farewell address by stating he is the one and only wrestling god.

    **Commercial**

    Maryse again welcomes us back to the show.

    Michael Cole states that for the main event he and Tazz will be doing the sideline plays.

    Out comes The Animal Batista.

    The Rated R Superstar Edge comes out with the Major brother, Vickie Guerrero, and Teddy Long.

    Edge enters the ring. Vickie states that the match isn’t going to be a regular one on one match but a three on one handicap title match.

    Match #4: World Heavyweight Champion Edge and The Major Brothers vs. Batista

    The match starts off with Batista facing one of the Major Brothers. Batista get the early advantage with some fists, clotheslines, and shoulder tackles in the corner. Batista mounts himself in the corner on top of the Major brother and starts to pound the living day lights out of him. Edge quickly jumped off his corner to the outside ring and pulled Batista’s head right into the ropes and chokes him out. The Major brother quickly tags in his other brother who takes advantage of the animal who is pinned down. Batista quickly recovers in time and battles out of the corner and gets the Major brother into a Batista Bomb position but Edge quickly stopped it. The brother makes quick work and goes to take advantage over the dazed animal.

    **Commercial**

    We come back and see Edge in the ring kicking Batista. He gets Batista in the corner but Batista isn’t going to give up that easily and tries to power his way out of the corner but Edge quickly stopped The Animal and pinned him to the ground and starts to drop some elbows. Edge takes advantage of the wounded animal and puts a full body lock on Batista. Batista powers out of the lock and whips Edge into the corner. Batista goes for the running shoulder block but Edge quickly moves out of the way and Batista spears the ring post. Edge waits for the animal to get up for the advantage but when Edge runs towards Batista with full momentum he spins Edge in mid air for a Spin out slam. Batista goes for the pin but only gets a two count. The match progresses and Batista is in the ring with one of the majors. He makes quick work out of him and sees one major on one side and Edge on the other. He pushes the major outside the ring and spears the groggy Edge off the ring side and into the barricade on the outside floor. The legal major is on the top rope and goes for a diving spear only to be caught by the animal and gets spinebustered for his troubles. Batista goes for the pin and gets the 1-2-3.

    Your Winner: Batista

    Match Stars: I would have to give it a 3.5/5 stars this match was pretty much went one way and that was in Edge’s favor because of the major brothers but it did have some excitement

    Post Match: Vickie is stunned to see Batista win the title and states that Batista hasn’t won yet. She says that the only way to get that title was to pin Edge for it and she demands the match to be restarted.

    Match #5: World Heavyweight Champion Edge vs. Batista

    Batista frustrated goes for some dominating moves to end Edge quickly. When Batista was going for the Batista bomb one of the majors comes in with a steel chair in hand and jabs it right into the back of the animal’s leg.

    Your Winner: Batista Via: DQ

    Match Stars: It has to be 2/5 stars because well it didn’t last long and it was a complete beat down on Edge until the steel chair shot.

    Post match: Edge and the majors start to beat down the wounded and tired animal with their steel chairs in hand. Edge sets up Batista for the con-chair-to and hits it. Edge with the majors walk their way up to the ramp and Edge wishes everyone a Merry Christmas.

    Tonight’s overall Smackdown rating out of 5 stars has to be at 3.5/5. It had some great matches, but some of the matches needed some more excitement.
