Former UFC Middleweight Champion Rich "Ace" Franklin denies reports that his next Octagon opponent has been decided.
The fighter, who appeared on the recent CNBC documentary on mixed martial arts, said that he has not signed a contract to fight in March, disputing online rumors that he was set to take on a shortlist of opponents that included Travis Lutter.
"I am told there are rumors of me fighting multiple people in March. I have not signed for a fight in March. I don't believe that I am allowed to fight more than once in a night. I hope this clears up any confusion. I have not signed to fight anyone in March, or any other month," wrote Franklin on his official website.
UFC 82 is scheduled for the Nationwide Arena on March 1. The Columbus, Ohio location likely plays a huge part in shaping reports that Franklin was slated to fight at the event.
