Hello Everyone! I’m Ivan and this is my very first report! The excitement is great, but without any further ado, let’s gets started with the SmackDown! Roundup.
The show starts with a recap of last week when Teddy Long made his return to SmackDown and announced a triple threat world championship match for Armageddon between Edge, Batista, and the Undertaker.
Smackdown video package opens and Michael Cole and JBL welcome us to the television show that’s changing Friday Nights!
Teddy Longs music hits and he makes his way down to the ring. He grabs a mic and lets everyone know that it’s good to be back on SmackDown. Unfortunately, he is now the assistant GM now. (Why? I do not know. I thought Vickie was the assistant GM). Long says that he is going to set up a title match between US Champion MVP and Rey Mysterio at Armageddon. Then he goes on to hype the World Championship match at Armageddon. This leads Edge to hit the ring. Before he discusses his matters with Long, he wishes Vickie a speedy recovery. Edge then turns his attention to Long and basically is upset that Long has supposedly screwed him over 4 months ago and is giving away title shots like candy on Halloween. Long responds by saying he did not force Edge to relinquish the title back in July…it was doctors order for him to recover. Edge then asks where his redemption is. He came and shocked the world returning at Survivor Series and wants more redemption. T’Lo sets up a match between Edge and the man who ‘forced’ Edge to surrender the title match back in July. It’s Edge, one on one, with Kane!
(Good opening segment. Its good to see T’Lo back)
Segment Rating: 5.5/10. Any segments lasting more than 5 minutes will be rated. This was entertaining in its moments.
We are then told that MVP will host the VIP Lounge and his special guest will be Michael “P.S” Hayes and that Batista will be in action later tonight.

Match 1: Miz & Morrison vs. Jesse & Festus
Match started off with Jesse taking on Morrison in which Morrison was in control. After minutes of back and forth tag team action from Morrison & Miz, Jesse finally gets the hot tag to Festus and the crowd goes crazy. Festus dominates the match and proceeds to put a major beat-down on Morrison. Festus clotheslines Morrison and few times and bodyslams him...knocking off the Miz at the same time. Then he does an awkward move where he runs and sits on his opponent. He tags Festus in an attempt to hit a body splash. As Miz attacks Festus from the back and the two fight on the outside, Morrison splits Jesse on the top rope and covers him for the victory.
Rating: 4.5/10. Not that great. Just intended to make Miz & Morrison look stronger.
Backstage, Elijah Burke is shown and he says that after he beats Batista, Batista will never forget the name Elijah Burke.
Match 2: Batista vs. Elijah Burke
Batista starts off by dominating the match. After a few minutes, Burke manages to dropkick Batista on his left leg and proceeds to ram it into the ring post. Batista regains momentum and lifts and slams Burke into the turnbuckle which is followed by a few shoulder attacks. Burke again attacks Batista’s leg and goes up top to the turnbuckle. Best part of the match occurs here. Burke jumps off and Batista out of nowhere spears Burke in mid-air!!! Crowd goes crazy. Batista then hits the Batista Bomb for the win.
Rating: 7/10. A very good showdown for the time it lasted. Though it was quick, that mid-air spear really had me. It was a very good finish. Probably the best of the whole night!
Backstage, Jamie Noble approaches Michelle McCool. Basically, Noble wants to go out on a date with McCool. McCool makes an offer saying that if Noble can beat Palumbo tonight, then she will go out with Noble. Noble is extremely excited.

Match 3: Jamie Noble vs. Chuck Palumbo w/ Michelle McCool
Palumbo begins with tackle to Noble into the turnbuckle. He then chops Noble a few times and Noble appears to be hurting. Palumbo attempts a suplex which Noble counters and kicks Palumbo’s knee. Noble goes up top and leaps off the turnbuckle only to be caught and is samoan dropped. Palumbo picks up Noble and throws him to ropes, but is countered and knocked down. At this point, McCool climbs up to the apron and removes her shirt. Jamie Noble looks at her beautiful body and Palumbo charges from behind but Noble moves out of the way and Palumbo almost crashes into McCool. Noble follows through with a roll-up and defeats Palumbo 3 weeks in a row!
Rating: 6.5. The storyline between these 3 superstars is notably getting better and better. I like how the WWE is making better creative decisions lately. It should be interesting to see how the storyline progresses with the date next week.
VIP Lounge is next. Another Main Event Hype is shown.

We see sofas, boards, table and the US Championship on the table. That means only one thing. MVP hosts the MVP lounge. Before he introduces his guest, he shows everyone clips from the soon-to-be released Triumph and Tragedy of World Class Championship Wrestling DVD. Then he introduces Michael Hayes as his special guest. Basically the two discuss the DVD until MVP begins insulting Hayes and his age. This turns into a brawl between the two and MVP hits the Playmaker. Afterwards, Mysterio comes rushing down to the ring and puts a beat-down on MVP before MVP makes the runaway.
Segment Rating: 4/10. This was a boring segment in my opinion just to promote the WCCW DVD.
Batista is interviewed backstage and claims that he will walk out of Armageddon still World Heavyweight Champion!

Raw Rebound is shown
Be sure to catch the 15th Anniversary RAW Special!
Backstage we see Hornswoggle in Deuce & Domino’s car. They are angry by seeing him and attempt to attack him until Finlay comes by and asks if there is any problem. Deuce & Domino hesitate and tells Finlay to watch out for Hornswoggle. Hornswoggle breaks the antenna from their car and Finlay smiles as they walk off.

Match 4: Finlay w/ Hornswoggle vs. Deuce w/ Domino and Cherry
Decent match that began with Finlay in control as he knocked Deuce down with a few clotheslines. Midpoint of the match saw Deuce fight back with a few submission holds and get the better of Finlay. Deuce hits a jumping kick into Finlay’s face and knocks him down. Hornswoggle tries to interfere, but instead goes under the ring. Minutes later, Hornswoggle appears with a fire extinguisher and sprays Cherry’s skirt and Domino’s pants which distracts the referee and Deuce. From behind, Finlay grabs a shillelagh and whacks Deuce for the win.
After the match is over, Great Khali makes his way down to the ring. Deuce & Domino attack Finlay from behind and feed him to Khali who locks in his vice-grip. Hornswoggle looks on in terror as he fellow Irishman is laid unconscious.
Rating: 5/10. A decent match just added to hype the Finlay/Khali match at Armageddon. Nothing too special here.
Main Event is next.

Before the match begins, Batista comes down to do commentary with Cole & JBL.
Edge grabs a mic and addresses Vickie Guerrero saying that he loves her.
Match 5: Edge vs. Kane
Kane tries attacking Edge from the get-go, but Edge dodges Kane and strikes with a few punches in the corner. Kane retaliates by grabbing Edge and throwing him to the turnbuckle to return the favor. Kane then chokes Edge using the ropes and then send him to the steel post. From this point on, Kane tries working on Edge’s injured pectoral muscle with numerous submission holds. As Kane tries flap-jacking Edge, Edge counters and hits and Edge-o-Matic. Edge then dropkicks Kane out of the ring. Edge tries to leap off the apron, but Kane catches Edge and rams Edge kidney-first into the ring.
COMMERCIAL
Back from commercial, Edge is in control as Kane is grounded. Edge puts Kane in the corner and strikes with a few punches followed by a foot choke. Edge tries to hit the impaler DDT, but Kane launches him in mid air and Edge hits the mat head first. Minutes later, Kane goes up top and hits his signature flying clothesline. Kane signals for the chokeslam but Edge wisely gets out of the ring and hits Kane. Edge then proceeds to get a chair and the ref calls for the DQ.
As Edge walks towards Kane with the chair in hand, Kane kicks the chair right into Edge’s face. Kane leaves the ring to get the steel steps. Edge however dropkicks Kane’s knee and Spears Kane. He then prepares to hit a con-chairto using the steel steps (similar to Survivor Series and the way he did to Undertaker). Batista hits the ring, but doesn’t attack Edge since he has a chair in hand. Lights go off and…GONG! Lights back on and Undertaker has Edge in position to do the chokeslam. But Batista mistakenly spears Taker and stares down Edge who walks away. Batista is left standing in the ring as both Kane and Undertaker are left lying on their backs as SmackDown! comes to a close.
Match/Segment Rating: 7.5/10. A great finish to SmackDown that still has me saying “I want More!”
Overall Show: 6/10. This was an entertaining show that was meant to progress storylines heading into Armageddon. Lets see what’s in store for us next week.
