WWE News: Backstage reaction to Jericho's return, Matt Hardy update, Edge, more

• According to several people within the WWE, Chris Jericho’s return came off very well and everyone was happy with the outcome. It’s also been said that Jericho is in great spirits to be back in the World Wrestling Entertainment.
  
  
• As we reported earlier this morning, Matt Hardy had an emergency appendectomy last night in Tampa, Florida. Hardy was scheduled to appear on SmackDown at the tapings but his injury became known shortly before the tapings, and he was then rushed to the emergency room. He was scheduled to appear on the show.
  
  
• Edge made his return to the ring last night at the ECW/SmackDown tapings, he teamed with the United States Champion MVP in a dark match against Rey Mysterio and the World Heavyweight Champion Batista. Edge & MVP lost after the two received a double 619.
