    Raw Report 11/19/2007

Tonight needs very little introduction. The mystery will be solved. The fallout from Survivor Series begins. The end is near as we head towards Armageddon. Tonight, Raw is LIVE from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; only on the USA Network!

We open to a guy running down the road with a torch. Abruptly, the credits begin. Weird.

After the credits, HBK's music hits to a massive pop. Shawn comes down to the ring and grabs a mic. HBK says no excuses, the better man won last night. The reason he's out here is that he wants to invite Randy Orton to the ring so that he can shake his hand. Orton appears on the jumbotron. He's battered and bruised, and says its a result of another superkick. He's not coming to the ring. HBK says "you got me, if you came down here I was gonna kick you again, but if it makes you feel better, I was going to wait until after I challenged you to a rematch." Orton tells Shawn that he's not getting his rematch, as he already proved he's the better man over HBK, HHH, and John Cena. He says the marathon runner is from Miami, running to Ft. Lauderdale to pass the torch to him. He tells Shawn that he had his chance, and it's over.

Kennedy's music hits, and Mr. Kennedy comes to the ring. As soon as the mic comes down, Michaels hits Kennedy and clotheslines him out of the ring. Kennedy pulls Michaels out of the ring and begins punching him, irish whipping him into the ringpost. Kennedy gets back in the ring and says HBK has had his shot, and its his turn. Shawn attacks him again, pulling him out of the ring and clotheslining him. Shawn tells Kennedy to cry him a river, he just got his chance at the Showstopper, right here, right now. Kennedy tells Shawn that nicknames are given, not chosen, so he can stop calling himself the Showstopper. Kennedy says Shawn is known for losing all the time; he's a loser.

Regal appears at the ramp and says that we'll do this properly, and a referee comes down as a match is booked on the spot.

    -commercial break-

    Kennedy vs. Shawn Michaels

We come back to see Kennedy and Michaels fighting on the outside, and we find out that the bell has yet to sound. The ref is standing there, unable to ring the bell until they get in the ring. The two men are brawling, and eventually make their way into the crowd. Kennedy slams Michaels hard back over the security wall to the ringside area. HBK slams Kennedy into the announce table, and this is totally out of control. HBK gets into the ring, and Kennedy grabs a chair and goes to follow. As Kennedy gets on the ring apron, HBK lands Sweet Chin Music, planting the chair into Kennedy's face. This fight has ended with HBK standing tall.

Your De Facto Winner: Shawn Michaels

Match Rating: B+ (Okay, not technically a match, but it was fun. Apparently both HBK and Kennedy are in a new feud, as this is probably far from over. I'm interested to see exactly where this goes, and if the title will eventually play a part.)

    -commercial break-

Santino Marella's music hits, and the annoying Italian comes out for a match with Jerry Lawler.

Santino Marella vs. Jerry "the King" Lawler

After talking some trash to each other, King hits a dropkick which dazes Marella and sends him running away. They lock up, and King puts Marella into the corner, which is then reversed by Santino, who irish whips King into the other corner and hits him with a shoulder. King grabs Santino, hits a few punches, and throws him into the opposite turnbuckle, but misses a tackle and hits the ring post. Santino takes control, hitting an armbar takedown and a flying headbutt to Lawler's back. Marella gets out of the ring, puts on Jerry's crown, and starts making fun of JR and Lawler. Lawler responds by smacking him, putting him into the ropes and hitting an armdrag takedown. Marella begins begging Lawler, only to put King into the rope and attempting an armdrag takedown. Jerry reverses this into a backslide and gets the pin!

    Your Winner: Jerry Lawler

Match Rating: B- (It was okay, and Santino was hilarious when making fun of JR and King, talking about "Beating him like a government dog" and how King loves "dirty puppies." I laughed, but wrestling wise, this was about what I expected from these competitors.)

Orton comes out of nowhere and puts King out with an RKO out of nowhere. Orton says he's sorry. Orton says he has a status update on his torch runner; he's running next to the arena that he beat Shawn Michaels at. Tonight, Orton says, he'll have a "Passing of the Torch" ceremony.

    -commercial break-

After the break, the guy is still carrying the Torch as he runs.

Grisham is in the back talking with Kennedy. Kennedy says all he did was go out there to show HBK some respect, but Shawn Michaels decided to superkick a chair into his face. He asks Shawn why he would do that? Kennedy says it's because HBK sees his career evaporating, and is doing everything he can to hold Kennedy down. He says that won't happen, because Father Time is catching up with Shawn, but next time HBK won't have to worry about Father Time, only Mr. Kennedy. VERY strong, intense promo by Kennedy.

After a recap of last night's Hornswoggle/Khali match, Vince is in the back speaking to Coach and Regal. He asks them what they thought the best part of last night's pay-per-view was. Regal and Coach start laughing at how Hornswoggle was afraid, and how Khali beat him down. A knock is at the door, and Carlito comes in. Carlito says VKM showed Hornswoggle tough love, the same love he got when he was a kid, and he respects that. VKM asks how tough Carlito is, and if he's willing to take on a 4 foot McMahon. VKM announces a "Hornswoggle vs. Carlito" match tonight. Carlito starts laughing and agrees to the match. Regal and Coach are laughing about it, but Vince is not. Vince looks at them and asks them if he said something funny.

Back in the ring, Jeff Hardy's music hits!

    -commercial break-

    Jeff Hardy v. Umaga

Hardy starts off trying to hit Umaga, but Umaga's not phased. Jeff stays out of Umaga's way until both men end up outside. Umaga hits him a few times, but when they get back in the ring, Hardy hits a low dropkick, and a sunset flip. Hardy hits a running elbow, but when he tries again, Umaga throws his shoulder into Hardy. Umaga starts stomping away on Jeff, and picks him up by the hair. Jeff starts hitting back, but gets caught with a big back elbow by the Samoan Bulldozer. Umaga locks in a shoulder nerve hold, and Jeff is fading fast. Jeff struggles back to his feet, but Umaga grabs the hair and yanks Hardy back down, locking in the nerve hold once again. The crowd gets behind Hardy as he gets back to his feet again. Umaga puts Hardy in the corner, but misses a shouldersmash. Hardy capitalizes with a DDT and heads to climb the ropes. Umaga pushes Hardy off the apron to the outside as we go to commercial...

    -commercial break-

We're back, and Umaga once again has the nerve hold on Hardy. come...on... Jeff Hardy gets back to his feet, goes for a bodyslam and actually picks him up, but Umaga falls back on him and gets a 2 count. Umaga locks in the nerve hold AGAIN. Jeff gets up and starts reaches for the ropes but can't reach them. Hardy to his feet again, hits the ropes, and is caught by Umaga in a back body drop. Umaga hits a big leg drop and a body splash, but still only manages a two count. Umaga picks Hardy up and hits two kicks to the stomach and spinning heel kick, getting only a two count again. Umaga hits Hardy with a a series of big right hands that send Hardy to the apron. Jeff grabs Umaga's neck and snaps it across the ropes. Jeff gets on the top rope and goes for a flying body press, but Umaga catches it and hits a massive sidewalk slam. Umaga goes for the pin, but Jeff kicks out again! Jeff, like his brother Matt, will not die. Banzai Drop by Umaga... and another nerve hold. Jeff gets out of it once more, only to catch a big boot to the face. Umaga climbs to the top rope but misses a flying headbutt. Both men back to their feet, but Umaga hits Jeff into the corner. Umaga misses a wrecking ball, but Hardy runs and hits a Whisper in the Wind. Jeff gets a two count, and two men start exchanging blows. Jeff hits his mule kick, Umaga goes for a big splash but misses. Jeff tries to capitalize with a Swanton, but misses. Umaga hits the Samoan Drop, and goes for a samoan strike, but Hardy counters with a twist of fate. Umaga rolls out of the ring, but is caught with a baseball slide by Jeff Hardy. Hardy then goes over the top rope with a plancha on to Umaga.

Hardy gets back in the ring, but Snitsky comes out of nowhere and attacks Hardy. Hardy turns the tables on Snitsky, only to get blindsided with a clothesline by Umaga. Both men throw Jeff out of the ring, but the Game's music hits! Triple H decks Snitsky! Triple H decks Umaga! Umaga tries for a big splash but hits the ringpost and catches a spinebuster! Snitsky is put over the ropes with a big clothesline, and Jeff and Triple H stand tall as Snitsky and Umaga recover on the outside.

Your Winner: Jeff Hardy by DQ

Match Rating: B+ (Okay, I'm very mixed, because I almost FAILED this match. How many nerveholds did we have to suffer through? Too many. However, the near falls and the back and forth anticipation between the two, accompanied with a surprise interference by Snitsky and a save by Triple H made me start to mark out towards the end of it. It went from being a tedious match to a great match, that quickly. Jeff really worked hard, and Umaga did well too. All those nerveholds kept this match from being a solid A.)

    SaveUS222 video... it says "tonight."

    -commercial break-

In the back, Hardy and the Game are talking. After Hardy walks away, Grisham asks HHH why he went to Hardy's aid. HHH said if there's an innocent man in need, he's always there to help. The Game says whenever you have two guys walking around like Umaga and Snitsky claiming to be Badasses, it's his job to show them who the real badass is. He says he has nothing in common with Jeff Hardy except respect. HHH says he has nothing in common with Grisham either, because when he sees a transvestite in a bar, he goes the other way. Grisham says that the tranny looked like a girl as Triple H walks away.

    Cody Rhodes v. Hardcore Holly

Holly with the upper hand early, with an inside cradle for a two count. Cody comes back with a clothesline and a 2 count. Both men come ot their feet, stare off, and Holly hits 2 bodyslams back to back. Holly starts choking Rhodes with the middle rope, and after a snapmare, locks in a sleeper. Cody powers out with a few punches, only to be hit hard by Holly. Holly puts Cody in the corner and smacks away. Cody comes back with a few right hands, hitting a russian legsweep. Cody into the ropes, but Holly catches him and lifts him up for an Alabama Slam. Cody reverses it with a sunset flip. Holly rolled out of it, got to his feet, but Cody was waiting with a DDT for the win!

    Your Winner: Cody Rhodes

Match Rating: B (Not a bad match by any means, and it's good to see young Rhodes finally get a win over Holly.)

Orton out of nowhere hits Rhodes with an RKO. Orton grabs the mic and says that he's not supposed to be out here... he drops the mic and hits an RKO on Holly... but he has an update on the torch runner. The Torch Runner runs past the "Welcome to Ft. Lauderdale" sign. Orton says it's only a matter of time before he gets the respect he deserves.

    -commercial break-

We come back, and JR announces a Randy Orton tribute video. The video highlights Orton's ascension over the past few months to the WWE Championship.

Vince is in the back, as he comes face to face with Finlay. Vince welcomes Finlay, and says he was surprised last night when Finlay rescued Hornswoggle. Vince says he doesn't like surprises. Finlay says the Irish love surprises! Vince says he's just as Irish as Finlay. Finlay says he was born in Belfast, and asks what part of Ireland Vince was born in. Vince says to forget it and asks Finlay if they want to hit the bar after the show. Finlay says Vince at his age should be drinking a big warm glass of milk before he goes to bed. Vince asks what that means, and Finlay says he's joking but he'll go warm the milk for later. Vince looks a little offended.

    -commercial break-

Mickie and Maria vs. Melina and Jillian

Prior to the match, Jillian did her singing thing, making fun of Lilian. Apparently Lilian sang a duet with Jon Secada, who was in the crowd. Jillian attempted to impress Jon Secada with some singing, but it was, of course, awful. The crowd put a lot of heat on Jillian.

Melina and Maria start off with a collar-elbow tie up, which Melina turns into an arm lock, but Maria breaks out, gets Melina in the corner, and hits a bronco buster. Maria gets Melina up and tries to capitalize, but Jillian grabs Maria from behind, distracting her. Melina takes advantage and beats Maria down a bit, before tagging in Jillian, who goes for a 450 splash, but misses Maria, and takes out Melina. Maria quickly gets the tag to Mickie who goes on the warpath, hitting a headscissors, and a neckbreaker for a two count. Jillian manages to take control, and Melina tries for a double team, but Maria pulls Melina to the outside. Jillian grabs Mickie and rubs her face in her chest. Mickie breaks the hold, and kicks Jillian in the gut, grabs her hair, kisses her, and hits a massive kick to the head for the win.

You Winners: Mickie James and Maria

Match Rating: B (A solid match, and Mickie's new finisher is...well, interesting. Jillian had a little mic segment just before the match where she bashed Lillian Garcia, and that was just painful to sit through. Luckily, the match kind of made up for it. Too bad Beth didn't come out and destroy anyone.)

Carlito is in the back, and it seems that his match with Hornswoggle is next.

    -commercial break-

    Hornswoggle v. Carlito

Carlito toys with Hornswoggle, dropping down to his knees and challenging him to a test of strength before pushing Hornswoggle down. Hornswoggle bites Carlito's rear, and gouges his eyes. Hornswoggle takes off running, steals JR's hat, puts it on Lilian, and continues to run away from Carlito, crawling under the ring. Carlito crawls back into the ring. Carlito walks out to the other side of the ring, thinking Hornswogle will come out of that end, but Hornswoggle appears out of the same end he came in with a bucket of water. He splashes Carlito with water, and attempts a crossbody, but Carlito catches him. Carlito walks Hornswoggle up to the apron and throws him into the ring. Carlito grabs an apple, but Finlay comes down to the ring. Carlito spits the apple at Finlay, and the Irishman smiles. Finlay slams Carlito, then picks up Hornswoggle and slams him on top of Carlito for the win. Hornswoggle grabs the apple and spits the some on Carlito.

    Your Winner: Hornswoggle

Match Rating: C+ (Bye Carlito. We loved you, but you're almost definitely on your way out. Thanks for putting over some great talent and being a pretty good IC Champ. Thanks for some great laughs. As far as the match went, it was funny. I laughed.)

Outside of the arena, the Torch-carrying Marathon Runner has arrived!

    -commercial break-

Orton's music hits and the Champ makes his way to the ring.

Orton says "and then, there was none." He's managed to do the impossible, he's beaten all that there is to beat, and now it is time for the torch to be passed to him. He says he deserves this and is ready for it.

In the back, the marathon runner is clotheslined by a mystery figure. We only see him from the back.

    BREAK THE WALLS DOWNNNNNN!!!!!

Chris Jericho is standing at the top of the ramp!

The crowd is absolutely nuts, and Y2J basks in the spotlight for a few minutes.

Finally, the Ayatollah of Rock and Rollah speaks:

    WELCOME TO... RAW IS JERICHO!!!!

He says this is real, this is not a mirage, this is the second coming. He tells everyone to call all of their friends and tell them that the sexy beast is back. The crowd chants "Y2J! Y2J!" Orton asks Jericho who the hell he thinks he is; if he had stayed on Raw, it was just a matter of time before he would have kicked Jericho in the head too. Orton asks what Jericho is saving us from. Jericho says he's saving us from ... and lists a thousand things about Orton which were hilarious... but most importantly, Jericho is here to save us from Orton. The first chance he gets, he's going to take the WWE Championship from Orton. When he does, nothing will never EVER be the same again.

Jericho's music hits as Orton stares angrily at him. Y2J plays to the crowd as RAW goes off the air.

    Final Grade: B+

Well, he's back. Jericho's such a fast talker that I'm going to have to step my game up to get all of his joke's and words in, while still doing him justice. Finally, after months of anticipation, it happened, and I'm glad to see him back. It's refreshing, and the Orton/Jericho feud should be a quite a dandy. Otherwise, it was a pretty good Raw, all building up to what we've been waiting for since Jericho left. I, for one, had a great time watching Raw tonight.

Happy Thanksgiving to Everyone! As always, questions, comments, and anything else can be sent to DonnyAnderson@gmail.com. I'll see you all next week!
