Melina Admits To Watching TNA, More On Lilian Garcia CD Sales, WWE Gets Medal

-- Lilian Garcia's music CD, ¡Quiero Vivir!, managed to chart on the Latin Pop chart at No. 38. One thing holding back potential sales of the album was that a number of Best Buy and FYE retail stores, which make up about 20-25% of the market share of music sales, didn't carry the CD. FYE stores categorized it as "out of stock" after one week. Best Buy listed it as "limited availabilty," meaning that many stores didn't even carry the CD. The majority of the people interested enough to buy a Lilian Garcia CD are hardcore WWE fans, and they more than likely bought it through WWE's online store, especially considering that they were offering an autographed photocard with the purchase of the CD. More than likely, Billboard doesn't tabulate sales through WWE's online store and that could explain why the album failed to chart. While it probably wouldn't have charted too high, it probably would have charted somewhere at least. Regarding the sales of the CD on WWEShop.com, they sent out a memo about two weeks ago stating that the album was out of stock and that it might take up to 30 days for people that purchased it to receive their copy.
-- The Sun out of the U.K. has an interview with Melina entitled Melina: Divas can wrestle too. Melina really wants management and the fans to see WWE's girls as more than just eye candy. She wants women's wrestling to evolve. "I look at all the female wrestlers who came before and I want to be better. I want to take everything I’ve learned and evolve. Instead of being told what to do I want to be able to create. On Raw, we’re starting to do things on the fly and react to what’s going on more. It may not look as pretty but we take pride that we did it ourselves, Melina said. Melina also admits to watching TNA. "I still watch all the wrestling I can – whether it's TNA, Japanese or Lucha Libre – because that's my art. We should look at how they present women and take a bit from all of them."
