WWE House Show Results from Sheffield, England 10-18-07

An interesting note, especially for a RAW show, was the frenzy of "WOO" chants. I wonder if any management were listening.

Tony Chimmel came out first to a good reaction. He thanked everybody for coming down and said that this would be a RAW plus ECW card. A nice light and pyro show followed.

Match 1: Carlito vs Cody Rhodes. Cody got a loud reception and Carlito asked why. He said we know nothing about him other than he's the son of a legend. He said Carlito's daddy is a legend too which drew a huge 'boo' from the whole place. This was a solid match and finished via a Cody rollup after Cody slapped apple from Carlito's mouth.

Match 2: Super Crazy vs Snitsky. No surprise who got the win here. A standard squash but Super Crazy got some decent offenese in and the crowd around ringside was well into it. Snitsky is atually quite intimidating live.

Match 3: Burke vs Dreamer. The crowd went a little flat here but Burke is impressive and Tommy is Tommy so this was good to watch. There were a few isolated pockets of ECW chants but most of the fans in my area were children who didnt understand. The finish was a very nice DDT by Dreamer.

Match 4: Miz vs Balls Mahoney. Kelly Kelly and Layla came out with the Miz. Kelly cheered for Balls the whole match and raised his hand at the end before Miz jumped him. The "balls " chants were quite flat too. Not many ECW faithfuls in attendance i guess.

Match 5: Regal and Harry Smith vs Cade and Murdoch for the WWE tag Titles. Harry didn't speak but Regal introduced him and the crowed went nuts! He's actually very good in the ring. The champs got ALOT of heat in the match especially at the beginning and the crowd were very hot for Regal. He was obviously enjoying it. The match ended by a Cade/Murdoch DQ but Harry and Regal beat them up and cleared the ring. Almost a standing ovasion after Harry Smith's running powerslam at the end.

Interval

Match 6: Candice Michelle vs Beth Phoenix. These two actually put on one of the best matches of the night. Almost a whole row of people near me left to get a drink during this match which i thought was very disrespectful espcailly considering we'd just had an interval! News flash: Candice CAN wrestle! Her ring skills are coming along brilliantly and she's looking very comfortable in there. The finish came when Candice climbed the ropes but Beth caught her and delivered a long cradle suplex.

Match 7: Santino came out next and got on the mic. Loud WHAT?! chants started immediately and he played with the crowd. He did a good job and was very funny, until Harcore holly came out. A good but short match. Holly won with the Alabama Slam.

Match 8: Mr Kennedy vs Val Venis. Kennedy did his usual entrance but when he signalled for the Microphone it didn't work! He called for it again but this time Tony Chimmel crept behind him and placed one in his hand. Quality. Then he talked for a while. For anyone who didn't know, his name is Mr Kennedy and he hails from Green Bay Wisconsin. This was a good match. Val did his injured leg routine very well in the loss.

Match 9(!): Jeff Hardy with HHH vs Umaga and Randy Orton. Jeff and HHH both got extra pyro on their entrances. Hunter seemed to get caught in the middle of it. HHH did very little up until the last 2 minutes where he played to get the tag and clean house role. I thought was odd considering Jeff has some sort of neck injury but he seemed fine. This was a good fun match and the crowd was crazy throughout. Everyone got their finishers in except Orton who pretty much just got beat up. Orton sucks chants were loud and clear. Jeff and HHH won of course and the event closed with them doing laps of ringside shaking hands and taking pictures.
