Steve sent in the following report
Might have missed a match and slightly out of sequence however this is pretty much what happened...
Regal defeated Carlito in a boring opener.
Hardcore Holly and Cody Rhodes lost to Cade and Murdoch. PS I hate Hardcore Holly, and as a babyface he is so false!
Snitsky pinned Super Crazy (merchandise stand break)
Mr Kennedy defeated Val Venis with a great looking Green Bay Plunge, Kennedy told us we didn't deserve his full intro.
Harry Smith defeated Santino Marella with the Running Powerslam. Crowd didn't have a clue who he (Smith) was, which is a shame considering his dad sold out Wembley stadium which is just opposite, I suppose a mention of the late great British Bulldog is wasted on a crowd made up of 7 year olds.
***Intermission***
Beth Phoenix defeated Candice Michelle in surprisingly the best match of the night.
Triple beat Umaga in a lame streetfight, with all the usual spots and Triple H mega pop, I smell Cyber Sunday warm up.
Randy Orton was victorious over Jeff Hardy in the main event after a nice finish involving Orton reversing the twist of fate into an RKO.
Overall the wrestling was good. However for a near sold out crowd, they should be ashamed of themselves! Very disappointing atmosphere as the crowd was dead most of the night. I went with 2 friends who had never been to a WWE show before and they couldn't believe how quiet it was! I will never learn with house shows as they are made up of little kids who don't have a history of wrestling buried into there brain yet, nor a voice box capable of chanting anything remotely interesting. I suppose I should appreciate a new generation of fans that will hopefully start to get it in the years to come...
- Results: RAW House Show - Wembley Arena 10/16/07
Sent In By Simon "da Penny" Penny
Here are the results from the RAW House Show - Wembley Arena 16 October 2007 in the United Kingdom... The event started around 19:30 when Howard Finkle made his way to ring side for the event. *It must be said tat this time that there was quite a long entrance walk into the ring for superstars and wrestling staff, there was a raw banner but no usual lighting, ramp, video wall or major pyrotechnics... only a handful of superstars got a pyro/firework treatment.. please read on.... Howard Finkle acted as ring announcer and ringmaster for the evening. A couple of notable announcments including the Raw merchandise available at the concessions stand (cheap pop) and WWE Raw will be touring the UK again in April, tickets go on sale on Saturday 29 October check wwe.com for further details. First superstar to hit the ring was Carlito who cut a promo on ugly English women and English guys wearing tight cut jeans, he said guys tight jeans should only be worn by women...no wonder your all pansies.... Carlito wanted to fight an English man.. SO out come Blackpools own William Regal.. The home grown talent got a standing ovation and a largest pop. Regal defeat Carlito preventing carlito from spitting apple in regals face in the mean time. Next up was Super Crazy Vs Snitsky... Boring Pointlss.. Snitsky won.... (note: does snitsky not ealise that people don't boo him cos he a heel, he gets boo'ed cos he is a damn bore) The tag team titles were next on the line between Cade and Murdoch and Hardcore Holy and Cody Runnels... This was surprisingly a strong back and forth match up with Holl looking agressive and strong.. Cade and Murdoch retained the titles with a clean pin on Cody. Cody signalled to the fans that Holly is the man in disapointment of throwing away the match once the4 final bell had rung. Val Venis Vs Mr Kennedy was up next. Kennedy cut his normal mic promo and teased the fans by attempting to throw his shirt to the front rows.. He didnt however and Val Venis snatch the t shirt away and gave it to some lady at ringside followed by a kiss from the big Valbowski... Val Venis seemed to have a bad leg or ankle and was hobbling throughout the match up. Unsurprisingly Ken Kennedy picked up the win in this confrontation. (for reference Kennedy used a normal mic, there was no ceiling mic at Wembley) Next up a surprise entrant and possibly the secod largest pop of the evening went to......Ruloe Britania played loud and proud throughout Wembleyt arena whisl Harry Smith made his way to Ringisde.. The fans went crazy. Harry was wearing blue short/trunks with the union jack on the front and the Maple Leaf flag on the rear.... Harry had a little mic time and stated how i is an honour to be wrestling in London, England and mentioned his dad. Outcome Santino "I'm bound to get whooped by Steve Austin soon" Marella. In short Harry Smith recieved an even bigger reaction by finishing Marella with Davey Boy Smiths runing powerslam finisher... I for one hope Harry adopts this as his finisher. Its a great testiment to his Father, the greatest englishman never to in the WWE title. Just as this match ended Hacksaw Jim Duggan "Hoooooooooooooooo" made his way to ringside carrying a Union Jack and th stars and stripes. They both paraded around the ring waving both flags... In non wrestling news there was an interval which featured The Cheeky Girls and Big Brother WInner Brian and Liam walking around the arena for photos and autographs.. In the stands there were few xbox 360 machines set up to preview and test the new Smackdown Vs Raw ft ECW 2008 video game. After the break Howard Finkle announced the next match. For the WWE Womens Championship. Beth Pheonix defeated Candice Michelle in an entertaining bout where both ladies did actually wrestle, this is novel lately copared to the cat fight slap fests we have been used to over the years. Beth Phoenixs ring moves look impressive to say the least. Next up was a street fight. As soon as a street fight was announced the crowd went crazy with anticipation for HHH vs Umaga nd we werent disappointed... The Samoan Bulldozer made his way to the ring followed by HHH (who clearly got the longest and biggest pop of the evening by a mile) Triple H did a lot of posing for the fans at ringside and in the ring. This contest involved steel dustbins (Garbage cans for our US fans) steel chairs and oh yes... A Sledgehammer... HHH attempted a pedigree on the steel concrete around the ring but this was reveresed and HHH ended up flat on his back. Both men fought intensley until the good ol sledgehammer came in to play followed by a pedigree and yet another massive standing ovation for Triple H. The fans had gone crazy and were bowing down to the former WWE champion. The cyber sunday match should prove to be a good stong match up in my estimation. Final match of the evening.... Jeff Hardy Vs Randy Orton.... Jeff Hardy got a huge reaction from the crowds... Jeff Hardy is looking amazing lately and looks more deserving champion than ever.. I for one treuely hope Jeffrey Neo Hardy one day soon becomes the WWE Champion. Randy Orton Vs Jeff Hardy stole the show with there usual array of manouvers a couple of miss attempt RKO's whispers in the wind and a swantom bomb from Hardy kept the fans on there feet throughout.... Orton (unsurprisingly as this was a title match) won but take no credit away from the raibow haired warrior who worked the crowd well and gave the fans a lot of time afte the match had ended.. Only disapointment (besides my lame seat) was that HBK was no where to be seen, although he had appeared on Raw the night before. Overall rating 6.5 out of 10.. a very slow starting house show which seemed little more than an addition of Heat in places. Top pops of the evening go to 1)HHH 2)Joint Jeff Hardy and Harry Smith 3)William Regal Most heat 1)Snitsky (for being lame and a bore) 2)Orton 3)Carlito (for his mic work) Results by Simon "da Penny" Penny formerly hailing from London, England now residing in Norfolk, England.
