- As a result of last night’s ECW, Big Daddy V will now face CM Punk this Sunday at WWE’s No Mercy PPV. Tommy Dreamer defeated Elijah Burke in the “Elimination Chase” only to be surprised by Big Daddy V’s surprise entry.
- On the early-September tour of South Africa, Sandman got drunk with a few other wrestlers before their flight. Sandman is said to have been pretty wasted. Ricky Steamboat sat in front of him on the flight. Sandman then put an unlit cigarette in his mouth; Steamboat turned around and informed him that he was not allowed to smoke on an airplane. Sandman responded by yelling back saying it wasn’t lit. On one of the shows in South Africa, several wrestlers were pulled due to time constraints and Sandman was one of those pulled from the show. He thought it was Steamboat’s way of getting back at him.
Sandman, then, called John Laurinaitis and asked for his release. A few days later, Laurinaitis then granted his release.
