This week, ClubWWI.com had to go pretty far to find a guest. James Guttman journeyed just past "Parts Unknown," right beside "The Bottomless Pit," just shy of "Dudleyville," all the way to "The Outer Reaches Of Your Mind." It was there that he found Damian Demento.

Remembered by many fans as one of the WWF's most recognizable characters from the early '90s and half of the main event for Monday Night Raw's first ever broadcast (against the Undertaker), Demento has long left the wrestling industry and hasn't given an audio shoot interview since…well, ever. That is until now.

In one of the many subjects discussed, Damien revealed to James the first name and gimmick he pitched to the WWF before he joined them in the early '90s:

"The tape that I had sent the WWF at the time…I actually put on a black shirt with a little white collar so I looked like a priest. And I still had the same goatee and the little ponytail in the back. So it was real like sinister looking. Like an evil priest, you know? The name I gave them was Father Tarot, you know, like tarot reading cards….So that was what I originally introduced but they liked the Mondo Kleen look, you know, the character. And they just wanted to create a name that was just a bit more commercial."

Damian explains why he couldn't use that Father Tarot gimmick on the Indy scene at the time and how Vince McMahon and Pat Patterson settled on "Damian Demento" just moments before his in-ring debut.

This interview lasted for 43 minutes on ClubWWI and included Damian's take on Main Eventing The First Monday Night Raw, Undertaker's Unwillingness To Plan Spots For The Match, The Bushwhackers, The Royal Rumble 1993, Being The First Guy In The Ring After Giant Gonzalez Showed Up, A Unique Spot He Wanted To Work With Bret Hart, Early Memories of Tazz and Tommy Dreamer, Big Vito, Doing His Laundry As Damian Demento, Vince McMahon, His Art on Youtube, How He Got His Name, The "Spiked Shoulderpads," Mondo Kleen, WCW, "The Outer Reaches Of Your Mind," Today's Wrestling, His Scene in Die Hard 3, His Retirement, "The Bums," Training Under Johnny Rodz, Wrestlers Dying Young and much more.
