WWE Raw Report 9/24/07

Hi, This is Patrick Pena filling in for Donny this week. Here is the RAW Report.

The opening pryo blares as Jim Ross welcomes us to RAW in Milwaukee.

The acting GM, Jonathan Coachman is already in the ring. Blue-shirted Security surrounds the ring. A recap of the events from the past few weeks is shown. Orton kicking Cena's dad. Cena's dad kicking Orton. Coach books a Last Man Standing Match. Coach books Mr. Cena vs Orton. Orton handcuffed John Cena and beat up Mr.Cena. Coach has chosen to suspend Randy Orton. The security is for protection from Cena. He introduces Mr. McMahon and he struts down to the ring.

McMahon gets on the mic and says he is tired of Triple H. Every week he makes a fool out of McMahon. So tonight, Triple H will face Carlito in a Steel Cage. But Carlito won't be alone. He will be teaming up...with Vincent Kennedy McMahon. He vows to win that match.

Last week he said he did something that he needs to apologize for. So he calls out his son Hornswaggle. Hornswaggle hops down to the ring. He hugs McMahon's leg and McMahon smiles. He gets on one knee and apologizes to Hornswaggle. They say they love each other, and they hug. McMahon also has a surprise for Hornswaggle. He has set up a date for him. With Melina! Melina comes down and says she thinks he's really cute. Hornswaggle jumps on her and rolls around. McMahon tells them to go out and get a beer.

Coach says even though Regal is set to come back next week, he thinks McMahon should make him permanent GM. Then Cena's music hits. Cena comes down to the ring and he looks like he means business. He starts throwing chairs into the ring. Coach says if he touches himself or McMahon, Cena will be stripped of the WWE title. Cena attacks both of them.

McMahon says there will be a ceremony tonight, and it's up to Coach whether or not Cena will keep the title.

Commercial.

Match One: Cody Rhodes vs The returning Hardcore Holly

Holly talks a little trash before the match gets under way. He says Cody has to earn his respect. The bell rings. They lock up, side headlock by holly. Off the ropes, shoulder tackle. Top wristlock by Cody Rhodes. Armdrag takeover by Cody. Attempt at a sunset flip, Holly tries to punch out of it, but Cody gets a 2 count. Chops in the corner from Holly. They exchange rights but Holly gets the better of the exchange. More chops. Snapmare into a chinlock. Some elbows from Cody but a clubbing blow from Holly. Back suplex attmpt by Holly by Cody lands on his feet. Side russian legsweep and a nearfall. Crossbody block from Cody. 2 count, clothesline. Dropkick. Holly blocks Cody in the corner. Cody attempts a springboard move but Holly tosses him aside. Alabama Slam. And the 1,2,3. Winner: HArdcore Holly
(Rating: C+ It was an okay match. Nothing special. Pretty short. I find it strange they had Holly beat Cody. But perhaps we'll have a brief feud.)

Commercial.

Now they show a pre-recorded segment from Orton. Orton calls Cena a phony for taking the easy way out at Unforgiven. He says at No Mercy, he will be the Last Man Standing.

Match Two: Santino Marella vs Ron Simmons

Santino comes to the ring with Maria and we go to commercial.

Commercial.

Simmons comes down to the old APA music.

They lock up and Santino forces the break in the corner. Some rights from Simmons A lot of them. irish whip, Santino drops down and rolls out of the ring. Simmons follows him outside but Santino runs and stomps Simmons upon entering the ring. Drops some elbows and knees on the back of Ron Simmons. Locks on a modified camel clutch. Some clubbing forearms to the back of Ron Simmons. Santino attempts to irish whip Simmons. Santino ducks the clothesline. Shoulder tackle by Simmons. Clothesline. Simmong goes for a powerslam but Santino slips out and leaves the ring. He grabs Maria and just leaves. Winner: Ron Simmons by count out
(Rating: C- Below average match. Nothing happened. DAMN!)

Commercial.

Backstage, Melina is texting and Jillian approaches her. She says Hornswaggle is a disgusting midget. Melina confesses that Coach said that if she went on a date with him, she'd get a Women's Title shot.

Meanwhile, Cade and Murdoch talk to the Highlanders. The Highlanders want a title shot. They lift their kilts and show the champs their Nether regions. The Highlanders then moon the champs. Murdoch likes it.

The cage lowers and Triple H enters the arena. It's time for the cage match.

Match thre: Triple H vs Carlito and Mr. McMahon in a Steel Cage

McMahon and Carlito discuss their gameplan before entering the cage. Carlito and Mcmahon approach Triple H. Carlito runs at him and McMAhon hightails it. Triple H grabs McMahon but both them beat him down. He fights them off. He works on Carlito and McMAhon tries to escape the door. Carlito attacks Trips from behind. McMahon tries to climb out of the cage. Trips pulls him off the ropes and crotches him on the top rope.

Commercial

Carlito and HHH fight back and forth. McMAhon is still out of it. High knee from Triple H. Knee lift. Carlito is down. Triple H slams McMAhon into the cage a couple times. He then throws Carlito into McMahon into the Cage. HHH crotchchops McMahon and goes for the Pedigree but receives a Backstabber for his troubles. McMAhon crawls for the cage. HHH throws Carlito into the cage. Triple H drags McMAhon into the ring at the last second. Carlito is on the attack again. Vince is now trying to climb out of the cage again. Triple H and McMahon fight it out on the top briefly, but ultimately, Carlito grabs Triple H's leg and McMahon makes it out.Winners:Carlito and Mr. McMahon
(Rating: C- Another less than average affair.)

Carlito is left a bloody mess by Triple H after the match. Throws him into the cage, gets a steel chair and givs him a Pedigree on the steel chair.

We come back and a match is already under way.
MAtch Four: Cade and Murdoch vs London and Kendrick
Backbreaker from Cade on London. Tags in Murdoch. Murdoch drops some knees on London. Abdominal stretch. Lodong fights out and hits a hurricanrana. He tags in Kendrick and Kendrick goes wild. Dropkicks, backboby drop, leg lariat. Nearfall. Plancha from London onto Cade. Sliced Bread #2 on Murdoch. 1,2, but the Highlanders attack London and Kendrick. Winners: London and Kendrick by DQ
(Rating: Barely a match. I smell a triple threat at No Mercy)

Backstage, Melina is taking a shower. Unbeknownst to her, Hornswaggle watches. She grabs a towel and sees Hornswaggle. She screams and he chases her all around the backstage area, before grabbing her towel. She runs off naked and he laughs.

Coach tells McMahon that Triple H is looking for him. McMahon says he doesn't give a damn. McMahon says he could beat him again. Coach leaves and McMahon quickly start packing up his things.

Triple H comes in and challenges McMahon to a match next week. So next week Triple H vs Mr. McMahon.

Match Five: Jeff Hardy and Candice Michelle vs Shelton Benjamin and Beth Phoenix

Shelton and Hardy start things off. Shoulder thrusts by Shelton in the corner. He clubs down Hardy. Hardy hits a flying clothesline. Go behind. Shelton throws him off. Mule kick from HArdy. Hardy and Candice hit flying body presses to the outside.

Commercial.

Beth has a submission hold on Candice. Candice hits some elbows and gets out. Shelton tags himself in. Hardy goes for the Twist of Fate but it is countered. He hits the Whisper in the Wind. Benjamin hits a powerbomb and gets a two count. Shelton gets a chinlock on. A knee to the back of Jeff Hardy. Shelton with a neckbreaker on his knee. Nearfall. Irish whip, both men hit crossbodies. Both men are down. They get the tags. Candice unleashes some hits. A headscissors takedown. Chinbreaker by Candice. Poetry in Motion. Shelton fulls Hardy to the outside and hits a super kick. Beth hits the Muscle Buster and gets the win. Winners: Shelton Benjamin and Beth Phoenix
(Rating: C+ Alright match. Nothing too outstanding here.)

Coach answers some questions backstage. He says Orton is only suspended for 24 hours. Will he strip Cena of the title? We'll find out in the ring.

Commercial.

A strange promo is aired. It is 8 seconds long. Lots of numbers scroll on the screen. Words pop up and scramble on the screen as well. Kind of a matrix, programming type thing. the words "Save_us.222" are shown several times. I took the time to watch this frame by frame. Some strange things written in there such as "bat_ass_week" and "raw_new8.com" "geometry/astromony" and other strange urls. Some people think it's Jericho. The only thing i saw in the video to support that is a brief glimpse of the words "WM00 (although it may have been 99) tri--" At Wrestlemania 2000 Jericho was in a triple threat match with Benoit and Angle. So...I have no idea who it is. But I saw nothin to indicate it was anyone we know.

We're back. Coach is in the ring with the security guards. Red ring apron and a table set up in the ring. Cena comes down to the ring. Coach says he can either surrender the title or the security guards will take it from him. A ref tells Lilian Garcia that Mr. McMahon has decided that Cena doesn't need to give up his title. And now there will be a Tables Match between Coach and Cena. Cena beats up Coach a little STFU. Then Cena hits the FU through the table. Hornswaggle McMahon comes down. Cena says "Thank you Mr. McMahon." And RAW is over.

Rating: D+ This was a very below average RAW. One of the worst in a long time. Some people think they are low on talent. I think the writers don't feel comfortable without using established stars. It wasn't a very good Raw.
