The Raw brand returned to the University of Illinois Assembly Hall in
Champaign for the first time in three years. The crowd was 7,000-8,000 and
that was about double the turnout for the last WWE show in Champaign a
Smackdown/ ECW event held in February.

    (1) 15 man over the top rope battle royal for a title shot later in the
evening. Triple H and Carlito were not included and the field included
three tag teams. After a series of quick eliminations Jeff Hardy was the
    winner in about 10 minutes.

    (2) Candice Michelle over Beth Phoenix with a roll-up. Beth did a little
pre-match mic work. She is quite impressive in person both athletically and
on the mic. Im not a big Candice fan but she pulled off some nice moves and
continues to improve each time I’ve seen her.

    (3) Super Crazy over some guy from Chicago. Crazy hit his usual arsenal of
high flying moves and won in about 5 minutes. The guy from Chicago looked a
lot like Kevin Thorne and was introduced as Johnny something. Audio was
    great all night.

    (4) Val Venis over a masked guy (red rain?) with the money shot. A lot of
people in my section remembered Val’s heyday in the late 90's and this was a
popular win. I wasn’t for certain the announced name of the mask guy but I
got a good look on the way out and I think he was Perry Saturn.

    (5) Hacksaw Jim Duggan over Davari. Nice match with a lot of USA chants.
Hacksaw moved pretty well really and the match went about seven minutes. I
had seen Hacksaw wrestle Andre almost exactly 20 years ago to the day so
this was a cool nostalgia moment for me and many others in my section who
had been long time Duggan fans.

    Intermission

Maria came out and threw t-shirts to the crowd. No t-shirt gun. Maria is
really amazing looking in person and got a huge response from the crowd.

    (6) Codey Rhodes over Shelton Benjamin with a DDT. Longest match of the
night. Good back and forth action. Rhodes looked a lot smaller in person
than on tv but he moved well. Least crowd reaction though of any match on
    the card.

    (7) HHH over Carlito with the pedigree. Carlito did a little mic work and
then HHH came out to the loudest pop I’ve ever heard including the times I
saw Hogan in 1985. Absolutely huge. HHH did a little mic work, then some
nice back and forth in a 8-10 minute match that ended with a DX chop and the
    pedigree.

    (8) Jeff Hardy over John Cena on a DQ when Cade and Murdoch interfered.
Five minutes maybe between the two before the run in. Response was huge for
Cena but not what HHH got. Hardy retained the loud pop he got in the battle
royal. Decent series of moves more than an actual match which led to the
    real main event.

    (9) John Cena and Jeff Hardy over Cade and Murdoch on a swan ton bomb by
Hardy on Murdoch. Cade and Murdoch more than held their own and looked
good. Average match moves wise with the high spots from Cena and Hardy with
    the finisher.

    Loudest Pops

    HHH
    Cena
    Jeff Hardy

    Most Heat

    Davari
    Cade and Murdoch
    Beth Phoenix

Other than the one match a really live crowd through out. The wrestling was
on par with the Feb show but the star power of Cena, HHH, and Hardy made all
the difference in the live experience.

I just got back from a WWE house show at the Assembly Hall in Champaign Illinois. The arena was about 75% full maybe a bit more, all in all though it was a good solid show. Heres a quick run down of the results:

Match one was a 15 man battle royale in which the winner would face John Cena for the WWE title. Before the match Santino Marela dedicated his victory to Maria and then was thrown out as soon as he entered the ring. Jeff Hardy went on to win the Battle Royale elemitating both Cade and Murdoch.

The Second match was Beth Phenoix vs Candice for the Womens title. A very good soild match from both women I have to say. Candice even pulled out a tarantula, and Beth did a variation of the old Lion Tamer of Jericho's which was nice. She all so did a very cool looking boston crab from the top rope.Candice got the win by roll up.

Next you had Supper Crazy! vs ????? Crazy gets the win with a moonsault.

Val Venis beat Red Run with the Money shot. (the guy looked like a combination of Christopher Daniels meet Abbys meet Gladiator)

Hacksaw Jim Duggan beat Davari by 5 point stance. Big pop for Duggan though Davari did have at least one fan in the arena.

Next up we had Shelton Benjamin vs Cody Rhodes. Great back and forth match. Cody has a good future ahead of him and I still say that Shelton is one of the most under-rated wrestlers in the WWE. Cody got the win by double arm ddt.

After that we had Carlito vs HHH. Carlito came out and talked about how HHH was mad cause he wasnt in the Battle royal and how VKM sent him out to tear Hunter apart and that if there was anything left of HHH he was going to finish him off on Raw in a steel cage match. Then the Game came out to HUGE pop! He did his full King of Kings entrance. Anyone who says that Hunter is not over or that they pipe in his pops at the areans during Raw should have been there, the roof nearly came off the Hall when he came out! Anyway, Hunter made a few comments about its not his fault that Vince's son is a leprecaun and that he cant be as cool as Carlito, he cant have a goat beard and nappy hair. Hunter got the win by Pediagre. After the match on his way out Hunter grabbed a pair of those green glow sticks and held them up in a X for the crowd.

And finaly we had our Main event - John Cena vs Jeff Hardy for the WWE title. The match ended in a DQ when Cade and Murdoch atacked Jeff which then led to a tag match between Jeff Hardy and John Cena vs Cade and Murdoch. Cena played the face in peril most of the match. End of the match saw Cena hit the F-U followed by a beautiful swanton bomb my Jeff. After the match Cena thanked the crowd for coming out and put over Jeff big time. I was definately sitting in a pro Cena area = a bunch of little kids under 12.

It was a good show and I left entertained which in the end is all that matters.

    Biggest pops:
    4: Duggan
    3: Jeff Hardy
    2: Cena
    1: HHH

    Biggest Heat:
    4: Santino Marela
    3: Beth Phoneix
    2: Davari
    1: Cade and Murdoch
