    ECW Results 9/11/2007 Minneapolis, Minnesota:

(Yay I finally got my computer working! I can answer all of your e-mails and finally get back to doing ECW reports! On with the show...)

We are shown a recap of CM Punk winning the ECW Championship! Congratulations CM Punk!

    ECW Intro is shown.

ECW General Manager Armando Alejandro Estrada is in the ring. He introduces the new ECW Champion CM Punk. CM Punk makes his way to the right with the gold around his waist. Estrada says it’s an honor to have Punk as ECW Champion. Punk gives Estrada a CM Punk t-shirt for being such a big fan of his. Punk then autographs the shirt for Estrada and tells him to try it on. Estrada declines. Punk then asks Estrada if he is bluffing about being a big fan of his because if he was a big fan then he would put the shirt on. Punk says or is Estrada just sucking up to him since he’s the new ECW Champion. Estrada finally puts the shirt over his suit and then Elijah Burke’s music hits. Estrada announces that at Unforgiven it will be CM Punk vs. Elijah Burke for the ECW Championship. Burke says he came out to congratulate Punk on winning the ECW title. Burke says that he saw something in Punk when he recruited him a while back in the New Breed, but Burke now sees himself beating Punk for the title at Unforgiven. Burke says he is more athletic than Punk, better physically fit, and more charismatic. Punk says Burke needs to stop looking at the future but instead look at the here and the now. Burke tells Punk to back up and pushes Punk really hard. Punk responds with an enziguri knocking Burke out of the ring. (I didn’t really get this segment. Punk came off acting arrogant and kind of a jack*** by forcing Estrada to wear Punk’s shirt. Punk seemed like a wanna be version of John Morrison.)

Tonight is CM Punk and Stevie Richards vs. Elijah Burke and Kevin Thorne

    -Commercial-

MATCH 1: The Miz with Brooke, Kelly Kelly, and Layla vs. Tommy Dreamer

Lock up and Dreamer with a hip toss to The Miz. Dreamer then clotheslines him over the top rope. The Miz hotshots Dreamer’s neck into the top rope and then catapults Dreamer’s throat into the bottom rope. The Miz goes up top but Dreamer stops him with a couple of stiff punches. Dreamer with a superplex and both men are down. Dreamer nails a running bulldog as Brooke and Layla look on worried. Kelly looks like she doesn’t care. Tommy catapults The Miz face first into the turnbuckle and places him into the tree of woe and connects with a baseball slide. Dreamer delivers a reverse DDT and covers but The Miz gets his foot on the bottom rope at the two count. The Miz counters and rolls up Dreamer while grabbing the ropes and the referee notices and stops the count. Dreamer then rolls up The Miz for a two count. The Miz moves and Dreamer is sent shoulder first into the ring post. The Miz finishes off Dreamer with his running punt/neck breaker combo for the win.

    Winner: The Miz
Rating: * (Decent match, not a whole lot of time but The Miz was impressive tonight.)

Layla and Brooke celebrate excitedly while Kelly is expressionless toward The Miz’ win.

A Big Daddy V vignette is shown focusing on his feud with The Boogeyman. Matt Striker is doing commentary on the vignette and announces next week will be Big Daddy V vs. The Boogeyman for the first time ever on ECW. Big Daddy V says who’s your daddy and The Boogeyman will scream Big Daddy V.

    -Commercial-

Backstage Kelly Kelly is walking and Balls Mahoney stops her. Mahoney says Kelly is special and gives her a teddy bear. Kelly loves it and says it’s sweet of him. Kelly leans closer towards Balls and looks like she is about to kiss him but stops and says she has to go and leaves. Mahoney has a smile on his face anyways.

MATCH 2: Matt Striker with Big Daddy V vs. Nunzio

Nunzio with forearms and nails a front dropkick. Nunzio goes for a splash in the corner but Big Daddy V moves Striker out of the way and Matt rolls up Nunzio for the quick win.

    Winner: Matt Striker
    Rating: No Rating

After the match, Big Daddy V military presses Nunzio into the top turnbuckle and places him on the top rope and delivers a spinning sidewalk slam. The Boogeyman’s music hits and The Boogeyman is shown on the titan tron. The Boogeyman says humpty dumpty sat on a wall, but Big Daddy V will fall. The Boogeyman also says he’s coming to get Big Daddy V. (The match lasted about fifteen seconds, but the aftermath was good. I’m positive that Big Daddy V vs. The Boogeyman next week will not be a classic but it’s been very well built up so we’ll see.)

Punk and Richards vs. Burke and Thorne still tonight.

Up next we see who Vince McMahon’s illegitimate child is.

    -Commercial-

The Raw Rebound is shown where Hornswoggle is announced as Vince’s son. (Weeks of build up and what a stupid pay off! Makes me ashamed of being a WWE fan. We could have had a mid carder who could have been pushed to main event status but now it’s only going to be used for dumb comedy making stupid midget jokes that won’t even be funny at all.)

MATCH 3: Balls Mahoney vs. Mike Knox

Extreme Expose is watching backstage, Kelly is holding her new teddy bear. Mahoney with punches but runs into a knee from Knox. Knox with a running clothesline and a leg drop. Kelly looks on backstage in disbelief that Knox her ex boyfriend is back. Knox covers Mahoney for a two count. Knox then applies a reverse chin lock but Mahoney counters into a back body drop. Mahoney with multiple punches and The Miz came to the ECW entrance and distract Mahoney. Knox nails a big boot for the win.

    Winner: Mike Knox
Rating: ¼ * (Nice to see Knox back, maybe they’ll involve him in the Mahoney/Kelly/Miz storyline as well since he dated Kelly about a year ago.)

Kelly Kelly is upset backstage, as Layla and Brooke is nowhere to be found much to the confusion of Kelly.

Tag team main event is up next.

    Unforgiven card is shown.

Another recap of CM Punk defeating former ECW Champion John Morrison for the title.

MATCH 4: Elijah Burke and Kevin Thorne vs. Stevie Richards and ECW Champion CM Punk

Punk and Burke start off. Lock up and the referee breaks them up in the ropes. Punk pushes Burke hard for revenge from earlier but Burke pushes back. Punk connects with a running clothesline to Burke in the corner. Burke tags to Thorne and Punk tags to Richards. Thorne delivers a shoulder block takedown and Richards counters with a drop toe hold and tags out to Punk. Punk and Richards with a double roundhouse kick to Thorne. Punk tags back out to Richards who applies the Stevie stretch to Thorne. Thorne counters with a back breaker and nails a running clothesline. Thorne has Stevie on his shoulders and nails a nasty back breaker. Thorne tags out to Burke who slams Richards in the corner. Burke with clubs to Richard’s back on the apron and covers for a two count. Burke applies a front face lock and then nails more clubs to Richard’s back. Richards moves out of the way and Burke crotches himself in the turnbuckle! Burke tags to Thorne while Richards makes the hot tag to Punk. Punk with a clothesline and nails a step up enziguri for a two count. Punk delivers with a high knee and running bulldog to Thorne. Punk follows that with a springboard clothesline off the ropes. Punk then baseball slides Burke off of the apron. Punk finishes off Thorne with the GTS for the win!

Winners: CM Punk and Stevie Richards
Rating: ** (Decent main event, I’ve seen Punk vs. Burke before (Judgment Day 2007) so I know they can deliver in the ring. It’s the best choice to go with since John Morrison will be out another month.)

CM Punk celebrates with his ECW title glancing over at Burke who is glancing back to close the show.

Overall tonight was less than average. Nothing really stood out. This isn’t a good thing considering Unforgiven is this Sunday. The best thing on the entire show is how there building up the Mahoney/Kelly/Miz storyline which is sad, since this show also has Punk, Burke, and others that should shine. I understand the lack of build up for Punk vs. Burke because Morrison is suspended but still not a very exciting edition of ECW this week. Rating: 4.

    UNFORGIVEN PREDICTIONS:

    1) WWE Championship: (Champion) John Cena vs. Randy Orton (I have to say Cena on this one. I know I told myself Orton would win at Unforgiven a month ago but after his name showed up on the prescription pills list and WWE not suspending him really pissed me off. If WWE gives him the belt it shows their lack of following by the rules considering he was on the list, but also I wouldn’t mind since Orton is a very good worker/wrestler. I would have suspended him and have him win it at No Mercy. Prediction: John Cena.)
    2) Triple Threat Match for the World Heavyweight Championship: (Champion) The Great Khali with Runjin Singh vs. Rey Mysterio vs. Batista (Once again Batista is put in the title picture main event for Smackdown! What do you know?! It’s like they can’t go one PPV without this guy in the title picture. Anyway I have a feeling Batista will lose again, but don’t worry Batista fans I’m sure he’ll get another title opportunity at No Mercy, much to my dismay! Prediction: The Great Khali.)
    3) ECW Championship: (Champion) CM Punk vs. Elijah Burke (Punk just won the title and will win again here in a match that was just put together in about two seconds. This should be a very good math though. Prediction: CM Punk.)
    4) Triple H vs. Carlito (No Disqualifications for Carlito) (Triple H is getting an big push I’m guessing and suspect he will beat Carlito and go to feuding with Umaga when he returns in about twenty something days. Prediction: Triple H.)
    5) Women’s Championship: (Champion) Candice Michelle vs. Beth Phoenix (This has been built up okay. A lot of people think Beth will win because she has been getting a lot of TV time as Candice hasn’t. I think the opposite. I think Candice will win here either by a surprising pin fall or disqualification and the feud will continue on. Prediction: Candice Michelle.)
    6) The Undertaker vs. Mark Henry (Easiest call of the night. The Undertaker is returning he will defeat Henry. Prediction: The Undertaker.)
    7) World Tag Team Championship: (Champions) Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch vs. Paul London and Brian Kendrick (I’d like to see London/Kendrick winning the tag team titles but I don’t think they will since London got the win over Cade on Raw. Prediction: Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch.)
    8) WWE Tag Team Championship: (Champions) Matt Hardy and United States Champion MVP vs. Deuce N’ Domino with Cherry (I’m kind of fifty/fifty on this one. Part of me thinks Hardy and MVP will retain and be champions a little while longer and the other part of me thinks MVP will have Hardy cost the tag team title for both of them by turning on him. I’ll go with the heel tag team since I have too many faces winning. Prediction: Deuce N’ Domino
