WWE News: McMahon rejects off season idea, RAW announcing news

  • For the past several years, a number of individuals in the pro wrestling media have been advocating for an "off season" that would allow WWE performers a few months to rest their bodies and spend time with family. The Chris Benoit family tragedy gave that proposal increased exposure, although if a F4WOnline.com report is correct, it will not be implemented.

Figure 4 Weekly reports that WWE employees have approached WWE Chairman Vince McMahon with the idea multiple times over the last few months. McMahon completely rejected the idea on all occasions and does not appear to be loosening his stance.

  • In a follow-up to reports that WWE paired Tazz with Jim Ross on last week's RAW in order to see how a different announcing team would perform, F4WOnline.com says that the original plan was for John Bradshaw Layfield to provide color for Jim Ross. Bradshaw was out of town with his wife, however, so WWE instead called on Tazz for the gig.
