ECW 7/31/2007 Phoenix, Arizona:
ECW intro is shown.
ECW Champion John Morrison makes his way to the ring and grabs a microphone. He asks the crowd if they can feel it. He introduces himself as ECW Champion John Morrison. He says the people have a choice to join him or keep being slaves. He said last week he proved his greatness and says he will continue his fifteen minutes of fame challenge tonight. Morrison makes a joke about Paris Hilton asking who hasn't been with her. Morrison goes through a list of Arizona's greatest athletes and calls out this weeks ECW jobber. Morrison calls for a referee and when the referee had his back turned Morrison nails a low blow to the jobber.
Match 1: ECW Champion John Morrison vs. Jobber
Morrison with the corkscrew neckbreaker for the win at 14:39.
Winner: John Morrison
Rating: No Rating
Morrison asks for Arizona's second best and calls out anybody else to challenge him. Tommy Dreamer's music hits and he makes his way to the ring. Dreamer says he wants to be ECW Champion again. Dreamer then states he can beat Morrison as Elijah Burke's music hits. Burke makes his way to the ring and says Dreamer is prehistoric and that Dreamer is fifteen years past his time. Burke then states he should be the number one contender as CM Punk's music hits and he makes his way to the ring. A CM Punk chant breaks out. Punk says that he and Morrison should go one on one in the ring one last time and if Punk can't beat Morrison in fifteen minutes or last fifteen minutes then he will never get another title opportunity again. Morrison says he just wrestled a grueling match and won't compete again tonight but has a better idea. Morrison insists we have a triple threat match tonight where the winner will face Morrison next week in his fifteen minutes of fame challenge where if they beat him or last fifteen minutes they will get a future title opportunity. All four have a staredown. (Very good segment to start the show. I would like to see a fatal four way at SummerSlam with Morrison vs. Punk vs. Dreamer vs. Burke instead of just another one on one Punk vs. Morrison match.)

Thorne places Richards on the top rope but misses a charge and goes shoulder first into the ring post. Richards with a school boy roll up for the second straight victory in a row for him.

Rating: 1/4 * (Too short and was basically the exact same from last week.)
We are shown a video package of Big Daddy V who is in action next.
-Commercial-
A CM Punk video is shown.
Match 3: Three On One Handicap Match: Big Daddy V with Matt Striker vs. Jeff Michaels, Brandon Gaston and John Horstman (Didn't really catch these guys names so they might be different.)
Big Daddy V basically destroys all three and nails a samoan drop and spinebuster. Big Daddy V splashes all three in the corner and scoop slams one guy onto the other and then nails a spinning sidewalk slam on one guy onto both guys. Big Daddy V covers all three for the win.
Winner: Big Daddy V
Rating: 1/4 * (It was the exact same as last week just added one more opponent. Give Big Daddy V some real competition which The Boogeyman might be the answer.)
The Boogeyman's music hits and he makes his return with a new look. (Different face paint and looks even more ridiculous.) Striker insists Big Daddy V get out of the ring and they do as Boogeyman stares on while eating some worms.
Tonight is the triple threat match between Tommy Dreamer vs. CM Punk vs. Elijah Burke but up next is Extreme Expose.
-Commercial-
Extreme Expose are on the entrance ramp dancing to "The Way You Make Me Feel" by Michael Jackson. They are all in black and red this week and finish in the ring with their legs stretched out over the top rope. Layla grabs a microphone and introduces The Miz. Miz then with a drop toe hold into the turnbuckle showing his more intense side and covers for a two count. Mahoney with punches and nails a sitdown powerbomb for a two count. Mahoney misses a charge and Miz nails a neck breaker for the win.
Winner: The Miz
Rating: 1/4 * (An unimpressive showing from The Miz this week.)
Brooke, Kelly, and Layla surround Miz in the ring and celebrate with him. The Miz then leaves to the back with all three sexy women.
A Tommy Dreamer vignette is shown.
Elijah Burke is shown backstage. He talks about himself and Burke says he will take out both Tommy Dreamer and CM Punk tonight and then next week will be one step closer of becoming the next ECW Champion.
Up next is the main event.
-Commercial-

Match 5: Triple Threat Match Where The Winner Recieves A Fifteen Minute Of Fame Match Next Week:

Burke then nails his delayed elbow drop in the corner after nearly losing his balance but still pulled it off and covers but Punk pulls Burke to the outside and sends him shoulder first into the steel steps! Punk nails a powerbomb into a back breaker unto Burke for another two count. Punk places Burke on the top rope and follows but Burke knocks him off. Dreamer then attacks Burke on the top rope and superplexes Burke as Punk powerbombs Dreamer! Punk covers Dreamer for a two count. Punk with a high knee to Burke in the corner and goes for the running bulldog but Burke counters and Punk collides with Dreamer. Burke picks up Punk but Punk counters into the GTS for the win!
Winner: CM Punk
Rating: ** 1/4 (Good main event. They really did save the best for last, because thankfully we got one good match on this not so good show tonight.)
Punk and Dreamer shake hands out of respect and CM Punk celebrates his victory to close the show.
Overall tonights show was very lackluster. It was a complete repeat of last week. The show started out with John Morrison who briefly talked, then beat a nobody, then talked some more to Richards beating Thorne again. Then Big Daddy V destroyed three jobbers like last week only the addition of one more. Then Miz won again and Extreme Expose are still with him blah, blah, blah. It's called creative WWE. We need more new, less same! The main event saved it from being a 3 so this week will get a 4/10.
Have a good week everyone, Jason
