Here Are Some of The Highlights From His Blog

Jim Ross On Randy Orton Concussion Storyline: I don’t feel as if the WWE is exploiting the seriousness of concussions with the Randy Orton storyline, but are certainly drawing attention to the dangers of suffering from a concussion. There has always been a fine line between fact and fiction in wrestling which, in some circles, is referred to as suspending one’s disbelief. When the announcer’s change their tones or their delivery, it is to better fit the moment that we are in and often times is a function of how announcers are produced. I have no idea what we will ever be able to do when our “levels” reach those that some remember for bona fide, tragic moments other than step aside and have new announcers without these experiences handle the show because there will be times when that particular delivery is called for.

Jim Ross On Eddie Gilbert: Eddie Gilbert was a very bright student of the game who grew up in the business and wanted to be a part of it since he was a youngster. Eddie’s ability to visualize scenarios may have been his great strength in the business, even though he was a solid in ring performer who seemed to emulate Jerry Lawler a great deal, which isn’t a bad thing. Eddie left us too early but he made some bad choices that cost him his life.

Jim Ross On John Tenta: John Tenta was a gentle, giant of a man who had a huge heart and generally enjoyed being around people, especially respectful ones. John was a genuinely nice guy who, if he had an overt mean streak, would have been really tough for any one to handle. If John was communicating with you, it was out of respect and him sensing that you were honest and sincere in your dealings with him. Not a bad lesson to take with you as you go thru life. I vividly remember John, while at LSU, wrestling Dr. Death who was wrestling for Oklahoma at the time. Nice heavyweight contest back in the day.

Jim Ross On Mid South Wrestling Library: Regarding the Mid South Wrestling library, I have not heard where the WWE may or may not be on acquiring it. Last I did hear was that the two parties were miles apart on a potential “deal”.

Jim Ross On Jeff Hardy Return: Jeff Hardy’s return to the WWE and his subsequent “breakthrough” as a singles star is one of the great stories of the year. Jeff is arguably as popular as anyone on Raw as is proven by the reaction Jeff receives every time he is introduced. I am genuinely happy for the younger of the two Hardy brothers. Matt is doing great on Smackdown as well and who’s to say that both brothers couldn’t be champions at the same time as individual performers?

Jim Ross On The Jackass Story Line: I was never in the loop or informed of the particulars on the Jackass story line and can’t say I will lose any sleep over it, one way or another, as it relates to the Jackass guys being involved in a speciality match at SummerSlam or any where else.
