- ESPN.com reported Friday that Congress' House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform sent a letter to World Wrestling Entertainment requesting vast information on the drug-testing component of its Wellness Policy. The request, which is of similar scale to the investigation into Major League Baseball, requires WWE to comply by August 24.
Among the records desired by Congress are the specific details of the policy and statistics related to positive drug tests and accompanying punishments.

- Shortly after the ESPN story went public, WWE responded with the following statement:
"The media has provided us with a copy of a letter from the Congressional Committee on Oversight and Government Reform. We are reviewing this letter and will respond accordingly."
