When WWE decided to reunite the Hardy’s the plan was to put them in a short-term program. Writers had to alter the original plan when the Hardy’s got over with the fans. With the Hardy’s losing the tag team titles, Matt Hardy is in line for a big push on SmackDown. It’s said to be a long-term soap opera angle as he will defeat mid-carders and then lose to the top guys, while still being over with the fans.
As far as Jeff Hardy goes, he may be given a prankster type gimmick backstage. The new gimmick could possibly set him up in the Jackass angle planned for Summerslam.
Sherri Martel’s cause of death has not, yet, been released. We will know more when the toxicology reports come in, which could take several more weeks. Investigators ruled out any foul play but still say the death is mysterious.
Martel’s husband, Robert Schrull, has told several people that it may have been an overdose of pain pills. Scherri was in a tremendous amount of pain after taking bumps throughout her career. She was in need of surgery on her lower back and needed a rod in. However, she wasn’t financially stable and couldn’t afford to have the surgery. So she had to rely on pain medication to deal with some of the pain.
