WWE refs fined, OVW ownership, TNA invading Booker T's PWA (updated), Ashley on Survivor note

- By 2008 WWE is hoping to have signed atleast six major companies for corporate sponsorships that WWE will call their "official" brands.
- To show how serious WWE is at wanting their referees to be more like UFC referees, they have instituted a fine for referees who violate the policy. WWE would like their refs to call the match as if it were a shoot, to take charge in the match, and not act like idiots. Several refs have already been fined for inconsistent counts and letting the heels make them look bad. A lot of people believe once the refs get comfortable with the system Vince could change his stance and have them go back to being stooges.
- The story on Ashley going to Survivor is that CBS contacted WWE looking for talent of not anyone in particular. WWE wanted to send a top male star but with the talent roster so thin at the top right now they felt they had to choose a Diva. Kevin Dunn and Vince McMahon were the two most influential in choosing Ashley.
- On June 12th WWE bought the 50% of Ohio Valley Wrestling that Jim Cornette had owned. Cornette has had nothing to do with OVW since he started working for TNA. Danny Davis now has full ownership of OVW. Cornette was happy about the deal because he felt that the money he received for his 50% is what OVW was worth a few years ago and not what he felt it is worth today. OVW is primarily funded by WWE and Six Flags, and without one or the other it would create financial burdens.
- Booker T's PWA promotion in Texas in the past has used WWE stars and WWE has helped promote the events via WWE.com. The upcoming June 29th PWA show has no WWE stars booked. Team 3D are main eventing the show with the billing that TNA is invading PWA. Booker also had Christian as a guest on his radio show recently. WWE is no longer letting their wrestlers work for outside promotions. Because WWE talent was pulled from the PWA show they didn't tell Booker that he could not use TNA talent. Booker and WWE's John Laurinaitis are negotiating a new deal to where PWA can start using WWE talent again.
*UPDATE* - Arturo Zaldana sent in the picture flyer to Booker's PWA event on June 29. You can see it here - http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j304/Art123456/PWA_Tag_Team_Explosion.jpg
