TNA iMPACT! Results (06/07/07)

Video package of last week, AJ qualified for the King of the Mountain match.
Match I : Robert Roode w/ Ms. Brooks v. Jerry Lynn
Roode starts the offense with fists to the back of Lynn. Lynn into the corner, rights delivered by Roode. Lynn off the ropes, ducks a clothesline and hits a huracanrana. Arm drag takeover to Roode, wrenches the arm and nails some knees to Roode. Reversal shoots Lynn off the ropes, kick to Roode's sternum, off the ropes and a kick to Lynn's knees sends him down.
Roode with multiple kicks to Lynn before sending him to the outside. Lynn meets the guardrail before Roode hits a shoulder block. Back in the ring, two count on Lynn. Roode continues to work the side and arm of Lynn. Gut buster on Lynn, two count. Rest hold with Roode getting a reverse bear hug. Lynn fights back, off the ropes and clotheslines Roode. Off the ropes again, huracanrana.
Roode misses an attempted knee, Lynn gets a roll up for two. Standing drop-kick by Lynn, DDT, two count. Lynn sets Roode up for the Cradle Piledriver but Ms. Brooks distracts the ref allowing Roode to get a low blow. Perfectplex, three count.
Winner : Robert Roode
Post-match Roode stomps on Lynn but Eric comes down with the save. Eric follows them outside and Roode throws Ms. Brooks to him. Back in the ring, Eric sets up a chair shot with Lynn holding Ms. Brooks. Cornette interrupts. Cornette says no men beating up women. Cornette said he told them not to beat her up, but he didn't say she wasn't getting beaten up tonight. Tonight it's Ms. Brooks v. Gail Kim.
Evaluation - The match was decent, I would have liked Lynn to pick up the win since he's been on a streak. Rating - * 1/2.
In the back Leticia asks Tomko if he's worked things out with Christian. He asks how he's supposed to work things out with a man that changes his phone number. He avoids him like the plague, but tonight he'll have nowhere to hide.
Evaluation - I'm curious to see where this goes. Rating - n/a.

Video package shown of Daniels and Sting the past few weeks.
Video is shown of Tenay talking to Sting and Daniels. Sting said that Daniels wanted to say something that's why they're here. Daniels said five months ago when he lost the X Division title, he needed advice. He went to Sting for enlightenment and everything he's told him he's put into action. Sting tells him to hold on, that he's like a deer caught in headlights. Everything he's told him to do, he's done the opposite.
Daniels says that he has to look at things in black and white, no gray area. You're either with him or against him. He understands now, thanks to Sting. Consequences, wrath, pain, penance and vengeance. Sting understands pain, but penance? He doesn't know what he's talking about. Daniels said this is important to him and this may not be the forum they need to discuss this. They'll discuss it later and make things right. Sting says he wishes he could believe him.
Evaluation - This answered absolutely nothing. Rating - *
Cat fight in the back in what appears to be the set from Blue's Clues between Gail Kim and Ms. Brooks.
Evaluation - Pointless. Rating - n/a.
Paparazzi Productions shows Lethal and Nash talking. Lethal says that Slammiversary is near. Nash asks him who he's got. He said Jake Roberts. Nash says he doesn't have Jake Roberts, he has Sabin. Sonjay comes in dressed all in white. Lethal says there's no color in that outfit. He says it's only about the color of life. Blue skies, green grass and the warmth of the sun. They need to see what he sees. Lethal said that Snake Roberts ruined his wedding. Sonjay says he's the Guru Sonjay Dutt. Next week will show them all meditating.
Evaluation - Haha. I still like Nash and Lethal, but I'm not sure about 'Guru' Sonjay. Rating - 1/2 *

Backstage JB is with AJ. Angle comes up and says that he's going to cripple AJ and there's nothing he can do about it. AJ says he hasn't seen Christian in a week, he's going to give him a call. He forgot his phone, so he tries to borrow JB's. Cage opens up the door behind him and pulls him in.
Evaluation - Haha. Rating - 1/2 *
Match II : Ms. Brooks v. Gail Kim
Ms. Brooks runs from Gail Kim, Gail follows and they come back into the ring. Ms. Brooks puts the boots to Gail Kim. Attempt at a mid ring slam but Gail Kim pushes her into the ropes then hits a Lou Thesz Press and delivers some right hands. Gail Kim grabs Ms. Brooks' arm and scales the ropes then hits an arm drag take over. Gail Kim goes up top, Ms. Brooks knocks her down.
To the middle rope, Ms. Brooks strangles and chokes Gail Kim. Two count. Brooks picks Gail up by her hair and slams her down. Gut wrench suplex by Brooks, two count. Brooks tugs on the hair of Gail Kim in the middle of the ring. To the corner, Gail meets the turnbuckle. Brooks up top but Gail fights back. Up top, huracanrana by Gail Kim. Brooks into the opposite corner, boot to Gail. Gail with multiple clotheslines sends Brooks down.
Back up, Brooks shoots Gail into the ropes, Gail with a handful of the hair sends her down. Knee to the head, two count. Ms. Brooks gets a jawbreaker on Gail. Brooks picks up Gail for an attempt at a slam but Gail reverses and rolls her up for three.
Post-match Roode comes to the ring but Gail starts firing right hands on Roode. Clothesline by Brooks. Multiple lefts to the back of Gail by Brooks. Roode and Brooks stand tall.
Evaluation - Good match from these two, pointless for Roode to come down though. Rating - * 1/2
Leticia with Tomko in the back. Tomko's checking rooms trying to find Christian. They run into JB and he points Tomko in the right direction.
Evaluation - Quit teasing me! Rating - n/a.

Backstage Tomko finds Christian Cage. He asks why Christian screwed him. If he really wanted to screw him he would have blown him off three years ago. Backstage at a wrestling show, he saw him standing in a corner. Big, intimidating guy. He went over and gave him an autograph. Found out he was a prison guard and he had dreams of becoming a wrestler. He took him under his wing. He could have been feeding pieces of shit like Abyss bread and water, but he gets to walk with the champ. He screwed him when he called TNA management and brought him in with no questions asked, right into the big time. He tried to hand him a chair and he didn't want it. He's not supposed to think, that's Cage's job. When it's his time to shine he'll let him know. He puts food on his families table, he got Tomko out of debt for crying out loud. They need to put all of this aside and worry about Christian Cage. Tomko's time will come, they need to find out who Christian's opponent is next week.
Evaluation - Interesting. Rating - *
Main Event : James Storm w/ Jackie Moore v. Chris Harris
The fight starts on the outside and goes right into the crowd. Harris slams Storm into the walls in the iMPACT! Zone. Storm mounts an offense and continues to deliver shots to his face. Into the safety rail then into the walls. Back on the other side, Harris in the ring and up top, jumps over the rail and takes out two security guards and James Storm. (Very reminiscent of Sacrifice.)
Harris makes his way over the guard rail and grabs a chair, misses the shot on Storm. Storm with his own chair, sets up Harris' head between it and nails a shot.
Commercial.
Storm attempts a baseball slide but Harris catches him and flings him head first into the guard rail. Both men are busted open. Harris with right hands to Storm. Jackie Moore slaps Harris, Chris grabs her throat but Storm hits him from behind. Both men pull out tables from underneath the ring. Both are set up. Both men grab trash can lids and throw them into the ring. Harris with a trash can in the ring.
Both men pick up the trash can lids and stare down. Harris with a shot, Storm with a shot. Multiple shots are traded back and forth with the trash can lids. Harris grabs the trash can and knocks him down. Two count. Storm into the corner, Harris charges in, super kick blocked by Harris. Right hand by Storm. Harris with a boot to Storm, second rope into a sunset flip but Storm reverses into a catapult into the corner, Harris' head connecting with a chair. Two count.
Commercial.
Storm tried to pull himself back into the ring but Harris catches him with a trash can. Harris charges, caught with a trash can lid. Harris placed on the table. Storm up top, senton connects with Harris on the table. Storm grabs the trash can lid again, shot to the head of Harris. Harris returns with his own. Both men exchange rights. Storm tries to throw the beer bottle at Harris, he dodges. Spear through the bottom of the ramp! Both men have until the count of ten to get into the ring or they lose their shot for King of the Mountain.
While Rudy Charles is counting, Angle comes down the ramp, so does Joe and bumps into him. Ten count ensues, neither man advances. Angle and Joe battle on the outside of the ring. Angle hits multiple European uppercuts, Joe reverses and slams Angle into the steel steps. Both men into the ring. Security down to break it up. AJ Styles with a led pipe and misses Angle. Angle puts him in the ankle lock.
Evaluation - Very good match, I love watching these guys. I'm interested to see who the fifth person will be. Rating - **
Backstage Christian and Tomko come in to Cornette's office to find out who Cage's opponent is. He says it's an easy match, it's someone that he thinks is below him.
Evaluation - It's Abyss. Rating - 1/2 *
Final Analysis - A very solid iMPACT!, I enjoyed it. The Main Event was beautiful, it furthers their storyline and allows for someone else to come into the match. Possibly Jarrett. 7.5/10. Goodnight folks.
