  • Tonight on ECW, "The Legend Killer" Randy Orton announced that he is set to square off against Rob Van Dam at the One Night Stand PPV in a stretcher match. This match came about after Orton laid RVD out on Raw.

One Night Stand was rumored to be the final PPV/TV appearance by RVD until his contract expired since he has been unable to renegotiate a new one with the company. It's ironic, if it is true that ONS will be Van Dam's last WWE match, that he will be ending his WWE run with one of the matches that helped make his career.

Rob Van Dam made a name for himself in the original ECW thanks to his feud with Sabu and it was during that feud that the two competed in a classic stretcher match on August 3rd, 1996.

There has only really been one other stretcher match in the WWE in the last few years and that was the bout between then WWE Champion Brock Lesnar and The Big Show at the 2003 Judgment Day PPV.
