The official numbers are not in yet, but WWE sources are indicating a significant disappointment in this year’s Backlash buy rates for a three-branded pay-per-view event. Most likely it still did more buys than last year, but many fewer than previous three-branded events.
WWE World Champion Edge has been specifically told that he will have a long reign as champion. For the first time in his career he is being groomed to carry a television show. Edge has always been under much pressure as champion competing with other top superstars such as Triple H and John Cena.
