The early Smackdown preview on WWE.com states: Kane, Mark Henry, Finlay and Batista will face off in a Fatal Four Way Match to determine the No. 1 contender to the Rated-R Superstar's gold. Who will earn the right to face Edge for the World Heavyweight Championship at One Night Stand? Dave Meltzer reports that Batista is expected to win. Rob “The Artiste” Sanderson sent the following recap: Saturday, May 19th, 2007 The Pain Clinic pro wrestling talk show Hot Talk 1280 WHTK-AM (Rochester, New York) Listen to the full interview and show now at http://www.feelthepain.net On Saturday morning, May 19th, TNA announcer Jeremy Borash was on The Pain Clinic pro wrestling talk show with The Cashman, Andrew The Authority, The Artiste, and Danger Boy. Borash talked about the recent WWE release of Sabu, the potential signing of RVD with TNA, the success of TNA Today on YouTube, the suspension of the Austin Starr, upcoming TNA house shows in Upstate New York, “iMPACT!” adding a second hour, Slammiversary, and much more. Jeremy talked about attending the recent wrestling show in Memphis with Hulk Hogan, and said he watched the show in the stands with the Doctor of Style Slick “like a couple of marks.” Borash commented on WWE’s release this past week of Sabu. Jeremy said Sabu is one of his closest friends in the business. After Sabu finished with TNA last year at LockDown, Jeremy said Sabu told him “don’t worry, I’ll be back real soon.” Jeremy said Sabu would go back to the silent gimmick as he and the Pain Clinic crew were discussing the tragedy of WWE making Sabu’s character talk on television. Jeremy said there have been no official talks with Rob Van Dam and TNA yet. Jeremy put over RVD and sounded optimistic of possible main-event matches in TNA like RVD vs. AJ Styles. Chris Benoit was brought up and Jeremy mentioned that Benoit was close to signing with TNA before, but WWE just offered so much money that Benoit had to make the choice that would benefit his family more. Borash said he didn’t blame Benoit, as he probably would’ve made the same decision if he was in Benoit’s shoes. Jeremy was asked to comment on the 90 day suspension of The Austin Starr. He said you have to go with the talent that most wants to participate, which seemed to confirm the rumor that Starr refused to work on his day off because of birthday plans. JB said he went to bat for Starr coming into TNA and he kind of regrets that now. Borash said Starr is a great talent but wishes his head was in a different place sometimes. Jeremy gave breaking news: TNA will be holding a house show “very soon” in Syracuse, New York. When more details are available about that show as well as other shows in the Upstate New York area (including Rochester, although that’s not confirmed yet) he will be breaking that news on The Pain Clinic! Jeremy also talked about Slammiversary, the success of TNA Today on YouTube, and much more.
