Been sicker than a dog, but let's try this out.

    ---------------

    Video package of last week.

    Sting v. Kurt Angle
(Interesting way to kick off iMPACT!. I'm perplexed.)
Lock up, side headlock applied by Sting. Reversal, Kurt with an arm bar. Angle into the turnbuckles, Stinger Splash! Sting tries to go for the Scorpion, Angle reverses and tries to set the ankle lock in. Angle with boots to Sting sends him down, European uppercut, Angle off the ropes and is met by a clothesline. Sting stomps the hand of Angle. Into the corner, boots connect with Angle. Reversal shoots Sting off into the ropes, belly to belly suplex by Angle. Sting thrown outside. Angle to the ropes, Sting grabs his ankle and pulls him to the floor. Angle into the guard rail then into the crowd.

Sting moves the crowd, reversal sends Sting right into the wall. Back over the guard rail, Team Cage runs down and begins to assault Sting and Angle. Cage sends Angle into the steel steps. Tomko holds Sting as Steiner connects with a chair. Angle in the ring, Styles and Tomko continue to assault Angle. Cage with a chair shot. On the outside, Steiner has Sting in the Steiner Recliner. Angle placed in the corner, arms held by Styles and Tomko, multiple chair shots to his back by Cage. DDT onto the steel chair, Angle's busted open. Sting into the ring with a chair and clears the ring. Double DisQualification.
(Eval- It caught me off guard they were starting with this, and now I know why. Really no reason for it. Rating- *)

    Commercial.

Video is shown of during the break, Angle being taken backstage on a stretcher. Tenay says it's just him in the iMPACT! Zone, Don West has been called away for a phone call from Jim Cornette.

Backstage JB is with Team Cage. Cage mocks JB and says last week Abyss was the victim. This week it was Kurt Angle. He's tired of people like Angle trying to buck the system and get ahead of others that are in line for the championship. People like Shark Boy, Sonjay Dutt..Cage is interrupted by Styles and asks about The Phenomenal One. Cage says he's going to talk to him about it later. Back to Angle, he's beaten Angle. He doesn't need to do it again. Cage versus Sting at Sacrifice. Cornette got one over on Cage at Lockdown, and Sting gets his second chance, but there are no more. When Cage walks out of Sacrifice still the NWA World Heavyweight Champion, there will not be a third. Tonight, Steiner and Tomko have a chance at the tag team titles. They need to bring it back to Team Cage. West interrupts and said that Cornette said Cage will defend his title against Sting tonight. If Team Cage interferes, Sting is the new champion.
(Eval- Interesting, yet ... not seeing exactly why this is necessary. Rating- *)

Jay Lethal & Sonjay Dutt v. Kaz & Alex Shelley v. Senshi & Shark Boy v. Petey Williams & Jerry Lynn
(This is a Suicide Stampede, meaning you can't tag in your own partner. Winners will square off in a Triple Threat with Chris Sabin at Sacrifice for the X Division Title.)
Kaz and Shark Boy lock up, Shark Boy with a quick reversal before a series of elbows by Kaz, back kick. Springboard off the ropes, does not connect on Shark Boy. Tag to Williams, springboard sends Kaz down. Williams sets up the Canadian Destroyer, Shelley rolls in and spits liquid into his face. Quickly outside, Williams over to him, tag. Shelley in, Kaz lays down and a pin attempt, two count broken up by Sonjay. Right hand from Shelley connects to Sonjay tagging him in. Front flip over the ropes, huracanrana sends Kaz down. Clothesline to Shelley. Neck breaker on Kaz. Spring board from the top, lands on Kaz for the pin. Two count broken up by Shelley with a poke to the eyes.

Sonjay rolls through, Shelley hits a kick to the back of Sonjay's head. Multiple reversals by Williams and Shelley before Shelley's knocked down and placed into what looks like a version of a kimura, but Petey's using his leg. Senshi in, back kick sends Williams down. Black Machismo in, reversal sends Machismo into the ropes. Suicide dive outside to Shelley. Kaz in, drop-kick to Senshi. Shark Boy in, chin breaker on Kaz. Lynn in, Shark Bite on Shark Boy! TKO by Lynn. Lynn on the outside, leg comes down to the back of Kaz's head. Senshi runs across the ring and leaps to the top rope, and lands on the outside taking four men out. Sonjay Dutt lays out Kaz, Black Machismo up top, Macho Man Elbow Drop! 1-2-3. Black Machismo & Sonjay Dutt win.

Post-match Kevin Nash comes in and congratulates both men. Sonjay's upset because he thought the pin was his, not Machismo's.
(Eval- A lot of back and forth action, I enjoyed it. It was hard to keep up because a couple of the moves I'm not familiar with. The last one Dutt hit Kaz with I still don't know the name for. Rating- **)

Backstage JB says Angle has suffered further neck trauma but they have doctors working on him. Sting enters the picture and says that last week Angle and he didn't see eye to eye. They came here tonight to settle it, man to man. He didn't want his title shot tonight, but he's going to take the chance. Cornette's made it clear if any of Cage's puppets interfere, Sting wins. Sting knows what Cage is thinking, the aging veteran versus the champion in his prime. It doesn't matter what's on the outside, it's what's on the inside. Tonight, it's going to be Showtime!
(Eval- Nice segment, I like listening to Sting cut a promo. Rating- * 1/2)

    Commercial.

Video of Roode and Eric Young last week.

In the iMPACT! Zone, Roode says he wants his answer. Tonight is the night, who is Eric's friend? Eric comes to the ring. Time's up, who's Eric's friend? Eric tells Roode to relax, he's got everything. Money, power, fame, a girl. He's got the skill to accomplish anything he wants in pro wrestling. What does Eric have? All he has is pro wrestling and Roode is trying to take it away from him. The only thing more important than his friends, family and career is his reputation and his word. This secret person has been there for him through thick and then the past couple of months. He's listened to every word. Sometimes, you have to fight your own battles no matter the consequences. So what he's trying to say, Bob, is he can fire him and take away from him what he loves the most. Just remember one thing, his word will never be broken.

Young tries to leave, Roode grabs him and says he almost made him cry. First things first, the name is Robert. Secondly, he doesn't give a crap about his past. He's here for a reason, and that's to tell him who his friend is. Roode grabs Eric by the throat and Eric pushes him back. Roode slaps him across the face multiple times. Young stands toe to toe with Roode. Young's not going to hit him because Roode owns him, and he's gutless. Roode turns around, right hand sends him down! Young mounts some offense, multiple right hands in the corner. Ms. Brooks with a rake down his back. Boot to the midsection of Ms. Brooks, Crucifix! Roode comes back, multiple fists to Young, keeping him down before Ms. Brooks hits him with a low blow.

Roode on the offensive, mounts Young and delivers some ground and pound. Roode outside, picks up a chair, cracks Young over the skull. Boots delivered to the back of Young. Ms. Brooks hands Roode a pair of handcuffs and Roode cuffs Eric's hands behind his back. Ms. Brooks brings Young to his knees. Roode says he's got three seconds or he's going to scramble his brains from here to Calgary, Alberta. One. Two. Three. JEFF JARRETT'S MUSIC HITS! Jarrett down to the ring, dodges the chair, kick to Roode's kneecap. Multiple hands, Roode into the ropes, back body drop! Roode thrown outside, Ms. Brooks behind Jeff, attempts a low blow but Jeff catches it. Guitar is picked up, CRACKED OVER MS. BROOKS' HEAD!
(Eval- Oh My God! That was a beautiful segment. I so didn't think Ms. Brooks was going to be physically man handled, but she was. I think Jarrett being the friend will really help his baby face role. The crowd went nuts. Rating- ** 1/2)

    Commercial.

LAX is sitting with Tenay and West. Video shown of what happened before the break.

Backstage Tomko and Steiner are with JB. Steiner says to shut up, he's the most decorated wrestler to ever grace the squared circle. He walks in no man's shadow. You want to see casting a shadow? See your head, now you don't. See your head, now you don't. Steiner lifted his arm up to JB a couple of times. That's casting a shadow, bitch. As far as Tomko goes, he gets all his information from word of mouth because he can't read. Steiner has been part of one of the most decorated tag teams. He and his brother, the Steiner Brothers. Tomko needs to dot his T's and cross his i's, he'll show him how to wrestle. Steiner walks away, Tomko asks JB for some help. Did he really just say 'dot my T's and cross my i's?' JB says yes, Tomko calls him an idiot and walks away.
(Eval- Haha, funny segment. However, someone failed to tell Steiner that the TNA ring is not square, and he fumbled over the sentences a few times. Tomko got a kick out of it. Rating- * 1/2)

    Team 3-D v. Steiner & Tomko
DVon and Tomko trade blows. Tomko's egging him on before mounting the offense and sending DVon into the ropes, Tomko shot off and double team sends Tomko down. Ray in, knife edge chops to Tomko's chest before sending him into the corner, splash. Ray turns around and back, caught by a big boot. Steiner tagged in, boots to the back of Ray. Steiner with a few chops of his own, inverted atomic drop by Ray. Shake, rattle and roll, Full Nelson Bomb on Steiner, two count by Ray. Side belly to belly suplex sends Ray down to the mat. Tag to Tomko.

Double team before Tomko's shot off into the ropes, double clothesline send Ray and Tomko down. DVon tagged in, right hands to Tomko. Reversal sends DVon into the ropes, shoulder block sends Tomko down. Steiner in, swinging neck breaker. Swinging neck breaker by Steiner, then a clothesline. Tomko off the ropes, mid ring power slam, one count broken up by Steiner. Ray into the ring, knocks Steiner to the outside. Ray sets up the Whassup?!, but Steiner's able to push DVon off the top rope. LAX interferes, Homicide up top, tries a huracanrana on Tomko but he catches him and throws him to the mat. 3-D! 1-2-3. Team 3-D Wins.

Post-match, LAX, Steiner and Tomko brawl in the ring before Steiner & Tomko clear the ring.
(Eval- Decent enough, I'm still curious as to why LAX wanted to interfere. Rating- * 1/2)

    Commercial.

Paparazzi productions shows a video of Shelley taping Backlund. This is kind of like March of the Penguins, but this is March of the Backlund. Shelley asks if Backlund remembers when Nash beat him in nine seconds. He says yes. Shelley said he could beat him in nine seconds, hell, any young guy could. Backlund says he needs to ask Nash if he still thinks he can beat him in nine seconds. Shelley starts pointing to shiny objects on the ground, and Backlund eventually finds the X Division title in the shrubbery. He asks what it's doing there and Sabin leaps from the tree behind him, completely missing Backlund and falling on his face. Clip is shown of what we can expect next week from Paparazzi Productions.
    (Eval- Haha, amusing. Rating- *)

JB is backstage with Cage, and he says that Angle sustained a possible concussion. Cage says Angle doesn't matter, he wasn't supposed to face Sting until Sacrifice. Cornette's always trying to screw the champ. He's never needed Team Cage, he doesn't need interference to become champion. Everyone knows Sting's credentials. Sting held the title long enough for Cage to have a cup of coffee. However, Cage is the real deal. He's the NWA World Heavyweight Champion. No matter if it's at Sacrifice, or live tonight on iMPACT!, he'll stay the champ. If you didn't know, now you know.
(Eval- An okay segment, Cage has done better. Rating- 1/2 *)

    Sting v. Christian Cage
Sting meets Cage on the ramp and begins assaulting him. Sting strips him of his shirt, his pants and his belt before using the pants to choke Cage. Cage sent into the guard rail. To the other side, into the guard rail again. They make it to the ring, bell rings. Cage into the ropes, body flop. Sting to the second rope, body splash. Two count. Cage with a boot to Sting's midsection. Cage up top, but Sting catches him and sends him outside to the floor.

    Commercial.

Cage with a right sending Sting down, boot to his throat. During the break, Sting was able to hit a suplex on the ramp. Back in the ring, Cage up top and misses the headbut. Cage with right fists and chops to Sting, but Sting bows up and flexes. Series of right hands, Cage into the ropes, back body drop sends him down. Off the ropes again, Sting ducks, Cage hits a kick to his chest. Sting with a choke on Cage, over head lift and throws him down. Cage into the corner, Stinger Splash! Cage sets up for the Unprettier but Sting hits the Scorpion Death Drop. Two count.

Both men up top, superplex by Sting! Angle comes down to the ring and removes his neck brace. Angle assaults Cage, allowing Cage to retain. Olympic Slam on Cage. Team Cage comes down and rescues Cage. Sting with the baseball bat and drills Angle in the stomach.
(Eval- An okay match, not really worth anything. However, it was fast paced and I like the fact they let Sting dominate. Rating- * 1/2)

Final Analysis- This iMPACT! was about average. A couple of good spots and matches. The crowd was on fire, more-so than I've seen them in a while. 6/10. Goodnight folks.
