WWE News: More WM23 news, Including how original plans might have changed

WrestleMania 23 notes derived from WrestlingObserver.com:

-- The original plan was for Ashley to defeat Melina and win the WWE Women's Championship, but there has been some souring over her failure to get over and improve as a wrestler. She still might win, however, as Melina remains a "heat magnet" backstage.

-- News concerning the World Heavyweight Championship match is somewhat similar. Batista was originally slated to end The Undertaker's WrestleMania 23 winning streak, but he too has lost backstage support and the plans apparently did change in Undertaker's favor. The one school of thought that could lead to a Batista win is if WWE decides to embark him on a major heel turn, but odds still strongly favor an Undertaker win.

-- There has been talk about sending Chris Benoit to RAW; if that is decided as the plan, he will obviously lose to MVP. Even if that isn't the plan, there's still a chance he'll leave the show in defeat.
