  • Thanks to Taylor Mcknight for sending in the following:

Report by WWA4 reporter James Phalcon:

The opening match was a special Lucha Libre exhibition. Members from a hispanic network were on hand to film and cover the event, and were treated to the typical moves you expect to see in Lucha Libre. In the end, it was Panther defeating Psycho with a picture perfect moonsault press.

The second bout was announced as a grudge match, and certainly lived up to the hype. Last week, Jay Hurley turned on Michael Black during a tag team title match, costing Black an opportunity to finally wear gold, and this week Michael Black vowed to get retribution against his former friend, by way of a victory. Black stormed the ring and immediately attacked Hurley with a flurry of fast paced dropkicks & clotheslines, stunning the big man
as he went tumbling to the floor in disbelief to the fire in Michael Blacks eyes. Hurley seemed to have trouble throughout the entire match keeping up with his noticabely quicker and more agile opponent, however a series of power manuevers quickly turned things back in favor to Jay Hurley, much to the chagrin of a very vocal and enthusiastic audience. As Hurley showcased his suplexing ability, the fans got louder; the more they yelled, the harder he slammed Black. Despite the punishment, Michael Black managed to mount a quick comeback with a barrage of stiff punches to the square jaw of the Boston native, but one more quick suplex was all it took to put Michael Black on the canvas once again.

The third match on the card was Amien Rios defending what was called the "Internet Championship" against Chris Deal. Deal was clearly not in Amiens league in terms of experience, however the sold out audience turned this into a more then just a title match. Fueled by international jealousy, a dual chant broke out, with half the fans chanting "Mexico", and the other half chanting "USA". Possibly fueled by his home countries pride, Deal was able to score with a series of successful high elevation slams and thunderous clotheslines on the champion, however in the end it was Amien Rios and his submission style of wrestling that was just too much for the challenger, allowing Amien to pick up the victory after 2 vicious running forearms to the face. Afterwards it looked like Chris Deals jaw was dislocated, but no one in the audience seemed to care.

Taylor Mcknight came to the ring and did a Q&A with the fans as medical staff attended to Deal. One fan asked Taylor "do you think you have a chance of becoming an announcer in the WWE?" and Taylor replied "only if I enter the next Diva search and come in third." Really funny stuff.

The next match featured Johnny Kadillac, along with his bodyguard who went unnamed, against Weezy Woo, possibly the most athletic and entertaining wrestler i've seen in a long time. Weezy was the victim of outside interference by way of Kadillacs bodyguard, however in the end it was Weezy scoring the victory with a quick flip piledriver that brought the building to its feet.

The Main Event, the Battle of the Champions, was everything the hype insinuated. Despite being a two on one handicap match, Sam Shaw took it right to the Hooligans, not giving an inch. This match began with an old school style entrance that I loved, with all men being in the ring before Taylor Mcknight introduced them to the live audience. Between the Hooligans unbelievable knack for getting heat, Sam Shaws awesome superstar prescence, and Taylor Mcknights unmatched skill on the indies, this entrance set the stage for what would be an incredible battleground.

Shaw has unbelievable strength, was able to fight off both Hooligans for a while using his powergame, but after a series of backbreakers, belly to back
suplexes and hard irish whips into the corner that nearly shook the ring, the odds finally began taking a toll on the heavyweight champion, and the Hooligans began to dominate
after Mason caught the champion with a chair to the skull. Devin Cutter, like a shark smelling blood, then dove into the ring and immediately jumped on the heavyweight champion, biting the forhead of the champion, and seemingly liking it. A suplex from Devin nearly put Sam through the ring, but rather then go for the cover, Devin chose to pose and play to the crowd, allowing Sam time to kick out of the eventual pin attempt. Devin grabbed a series of chokeholds, breaking on the referees four count, then going right back to the choke, keeping the champion dazed and confused on the canvas. The Hooligans did everything to try to injure the champion, using the ring ropes to try and collapse his throat, using a rag at ringside to choke the life out of him, and even taking a crutch out of the hands of a ringside fan and trying to stab Sam Shaw in the eye with it.

Mason and Devin also relied on their tag team ability, delivering an excellent double team claw bomb to the singles champ, however again elected to further the punishment rather then go for a pin. Masons DDT surely had Sam Shaws spine tingling, however the Hooligans lack of focus, or should i say, priorities cost them a sure victory many times, and it was only a matter of time before Sam Shaw scored with a surprising powerslam that caught Devin off guard, and allowed alittle bit of space between the combatants. This space was short lived, as a Yakuza kick right in the mouth put down Sam once again, but Devin
at this point was still feeling the effects of Sams earlier assault, and could do little more then kick, bite, and scratch at the champion. Mason came in to deliver a beautiful hurricanrana and springboard legdrop respectfully, however again was not able to secure the victory. As the fans rallied behind Sam, he seemed to fire up even more, however just when it seemed he might get the upper hand, Mason ducked a clothesline, lept to the ropes with cat like agility, and delivered a picture perfect asai moonsault, catching Sam in the forhead with his knee. Devin tagged in and without wasting time, delivered a running lariat that wrapped around Sam Shaws neck with scary accuracy. Devin seemed to lose it, choking the champion, going after the referee, and ranting like a lunatic to the ringside fans. Mason came back in get the win, but after two kicks, Sam Shaw fired up, snagging Mason in a t-bone suplex. Devin dove into the ring, but was caught immediately with a spinebuster. With both the Hooligans ducking to the floor, Sam Shaw had no intention of letting up. In a moment that will live forever in the WWA4 arena, Sam Shaw, all near 300 pounds, ran across the ring, dove over the top rope, did a somersault in midair, and cannonballed onto the tag team champions.

Shaw brought Mason back into the ring, lifted him for the Irish carbomb (a version of the F-5). Devin entered and tried to stop Sam, but Sam swung Masons legs and caught Devin right in the mouth, knocking him prone. He then delivered the Irish Carbomb, dumping Mason right on top of Devin, knocking the air out of both men at the same time. Sam covered both men and all that was left was for the referee to count 3. The fans went crazy, everybody in the building knew they had witness something special. From top to bottom, an excellent card of wrestling.
