  • Thanks to Christopher Best for sending in the following interview recap:

    Hey guys,

Mick Foley called into our morning radio show this morning. Here are the highlights of the call.

Mick plugged his book, as it debuted at #7 on the best seller list. He jokingly said he has made a new list of why the New York Times list wasn't as important, but he threw it out once he saw he was #7. He said he was proud of the fact that the book was able to do so well without any major WWE plugging on television. Foley said he understands because Vince has to dedicate his time towards Wrestlemania's buildup. He talked about how the book was a record over a 6 week period and how it was a daily account during that time. He mentioned how it discusses group meetings with all the wrestlers within the WWE, meetings with Vince McMahon and some of the arguments that they've had. He mentioned one instance when he was trying to convince McMahon of an important idea angle idea at a booking meeting and Vince was too busy eating a protein bar and mumbling, "Uh-huh" when he was talking. "You want to kill the guy", Mick said laughing.

Foley said he would be at WrestleMania as a fan. Foley said he doesn't know who's going to win the Trump/McMahon match and he doesn't want to know so he can enjoy the show more. He did say, however, that he doesn't honestly believe that Trump would ever shave his head, so if he had to bet, his money would be on Lashley. When asked about Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock coming back to make appearances, Mick said that no one ever "mentally" leaves the WWE, saying that people don't realize how fun the business is until they actually leave. He said it was a wrestler's right to bitch and complain because they go through their schedule and that you have to be in the business to really understand why people seem to come and go as often as they do. Foley said Johnny Nitro was one who really impressed him as one of the up and coming wrestlers in the WWE with a bright future. Before leaving, Foley jokingly admitted that he did actually own a suit, despite the fact that everyone sees him in the same checkered coat.

Foley said he would be giving a lecture at MIT and then departed from the show
