Submitted by Rudi Pavani on Saturday, March 10, 2007 at 5:15 AM EST
G'day all! Another week has gone by and lets see where we're at with Smackdown. We've got crossbranding happening all over the place and Vince McMahon is larger than life so we must be just 3 weeks and a bit away from Wrestlemania so all the storylines are working towards the pinnacle of the wrestling year. If you have been reading the wrestling pages there is talk of Benoit being swapped over to RAW after Wrestlemania, there is talk of Vickie Guerrero taking over the General Manager role here at Smackdown so on with the show and let us see what happens!
Quick recap from last week Batista cuts a promo looking like Frosty the Snowman Matt Hardy defeats Joey Mercury to gain a position in the Money in the Bank match Scotty 2 Hotty/Shannon Moore/Jimmy Wang Yang defeat Gregory Helms/Daivari/Chavo Guerrero McMahon tries to buy off Lashley who is slapped in the face but McMahon then runs away when Lashley looks to go after him Ashley beats Jillian Hall Finlay defeats MVP and Chris Benoit to gain a position in the Money in the Bank match Bobby Lashley beats Mr. Kennedy to retain his ECW title
The show begins with a video recap of the recent history between Undertaker and Batista designed to continue to build up their match for Wrestlemania. We get it from the point of view form Batista and then of Undertaker.
Straight into the show and we have King Booker in the ring with Queen Sharmell as he has his pyro fountain going on in the background. He salutes the crowds, his peasants before the music of Matt Hardy hit and he makes his way to the ring. These two are competing as part of the Money in the Bank match at Wrestlemania. Both wrestlers prepare for the match as Sharmell makes her way to commentary where she is warmly greeted by JBL and she is our special guest announcer for this match.
Match 1: King Booker (with Queen Sharmell) vs. Matt Hardy Both wrestlers square up as we get a Hardy chant from the onset and Booker takes control with a knee to the midsection before he goes to work on Hardy with blows to the head and a chap before Hardy to a cheer from the crowd fights back and regains control over Booker with him in the corner. An Irish whip followed by a clothesline and a bulldog and an attempted pin! Hardy is pushed into the rope by Booker who with shoulder blocks regains control again as another Hardy chant starts up. An attempted body slam by Booker is slipped out of by Hardy who rolls him up for another attempted pin before getting him in a headlock and working on him. JBL is pushing the barrow that Hardy as a main event wrestler isn't far away which means that it may be happening quite soon if Vince is listening but Sharmell says regardless, Booker is going to win the match tonight as Booker takes temporary control of the match but misses with a heel kick allowing Hardy to take control again. Hardy knocks Booker out of the ring with a elbow against the ropes and then launches himself over the top rope on top of him as we go to...
Commercial break...
Back from commercial and Hardy is still in control of the match slamming the head of Booker into the turnbuckle before taking him down with a clothesline before another attempted pin as we see Sharmell looking concerned from the announce table. Hardy tries to whip Booker across the ring but it's reversed and Booker manages to pick up Hardy and drop him on the top rope. A staggering Hardy is ten met by a heel kick and an attempted pin by Booker. Booker now with a suplex and he stalks Hardy. A big chop to the throat and a head to the turnbuckle before working on Hardy in the corner knocking him to the canvas where he continues to drop the boot into Hardy. Booker mounts Hardy onto the top rope and climbs up after him beating into him. He attempts a superplex from the second rope but Hardy with hits and headbutts manages to knock Booker to the canvas. He misses a moonsault however as Booker rolls out of the way and it's Booker now with a neck breaker and an attempted pin for a two count only! Booker locks in an arm hold and works on wearing down Hardy as we see that he is bleeding from the mouth. Hardy gets to his feet eventually and mounts a comeback staggering Booker but as he comes off the ropes he is met by a spin kick and Hardy is once again under the pump. Booker straddles him and beats into him before he yells out he is king of the world to boos from the crowd.
He attempts a suplex which is blocked by Hardy and then reversed. The crowd is cheering on for Hardy as once again he mounts an offense and takes Booker down with two clotheslines before hitting a side Russian legsweep. He attempts to bulldog Booker again but Booker pushes him away and kicks him in the midsection! Booker now goes for his finisher scissor kick to the back of the head but Hardy moves out of the way at the last minute and then lands a side effect and an almost 3 count! Hardy on the second rope drops the elbow now onto Booker before mounting the ropes again and dropping the leg onto Booker! Another almost 3 count and Hardy stalks Booker as Sharmell drops her headphone and runs to the apron of the ring distracting Hardy. Hardy turns around and manages to avoid a heel kick from Booker who in turn avoids an attempted clothesline by Hardy! Hardy though with a kick to the midsection tries to land a twist of fate. Booker manages to push Hardy into the ropes and they both collide as he bounces from them and a staggered Hardy collapses over the second rope, facing the crowd! As the referee checks on Booker Sharmell clocks Hardy with her shoe staggering him further and as he wobbles directionally wise back into the middle of the ring, Booker connects with a scissors kick and this one is over! King Booker (with Queen Sharmell) defeated Matt Hardy in 15 minutes. Rudi's rating *** 3/4 Rudi's rant - This was a nice match with some good action, not much in the way of restholds and the time just seemed to fly by even with the commercial break. If this is some of the skills and intensity we're going to get in the ladder match at Wrestlemania then I think we're in for a good contest! Booker looked better than he has the past few times I've seen him wrestle though I've missed seeing the spinaroo! Hardy? Well, he continues to put in his all and I hope this is a sign finally he'll be pushed into a title reign in the near future. Post match and Sharmell shows her happiness at Booker's win and Booker raises his little finger to the crowd as the referee checks on Hardy. Booker walks slowly up the rampway with Sharmell as we go backstage to where Kristal is about to conduct an interview with Batista. We see a video package of Undertaker's undefeated streak at Wrestlemania, done very nicely mind you before we go back to where Batista acknowledges nicely the winning streak of Undertaker but suggests he will be the one to end it as he will walk in the champion and leave the champion. He has a match tonight however against Kane, Undertaker's sick, demented and twisted baby brother and he'll do to Kane exactly what he will do to Undertaker.
Commercial break...
Back from commercial and Maryse welcomes us back to Smackdown by letting down her hair and smiling a lot. Back to JBL and Cole and the conversations leads into a recap from RAW on Monday where Stone Cold Steve Austin was chosen to be the guest referee for the McMahon/Trump hair match. Backstage and Long is looking at a laptop when MVP wanders in wearing a suit to talk to Long and comments on why Long would be looking at the Daily Diva Kristal. Long wants to know as General Manager still what does MVP want. MVP says he didn't lose the Money in the Bank match last week as it was Benoit who was pinned so he wants a title match against Benoit at Wrestlemania for his U.S. title match. Long says he'll see what can happen as MVP accepts that and wanders off.
Backstage still and Kane is walking backstage and approached by Kristal who asks him about Batista's comments from earlier. Kane obviously was in the bathroom at the time because he hasn't heard them but gets Kristal to tell him. He repeats what Kristal tells him, thinks about it for a moment and then laughs and says Batista has no idea how true it is and keeps walking leaving Kristal pensive. Ever noticed how Kane looks just so funny with the two tone coloured head the way it's been shaved?
Commercial break...
Back from commercial and the music of Batista hits and to a big pop from the crowd comes out on stage. We get the pyros going off before he makes his way to the ring. He mounts the corners and acknowledges the crowd before showing off his belt as the music of Kane hits and he makes his way to the ring. In the ring Kane goes face to face with Batista as he sets off his ring post pyros. They stare off at each other as the bell ring.
Match 2: Batista vs. Kane in a non title match We begin with both wrestlers locking up before Kane pushes Batista away. Kane mouths off at Batista before they lock up again and Kane takes Batista down with some mat based wrestling moves before Batista backs Kane into the corner. Batista backs away but is pushed by Kane. Batista pushes him back and Kane has words with him again before they lock up again and Kane gets Batista in a head lock. Batista breaks it by pushing Kane against the ropes but then can't hiptoss him as he comes off the ropes as it's blocked by Kane. Kane reverses it and tries the same but to no avail and Batista just takes him down with a clothesline before taking him into a corner and landing shoulder blocks against him. Batista then takes him down with another clothesline and goes for the cover but Kane breaks out of it easily. Batista tries to whip Kane across the ring but it's reversed and Kane takes Batista down with an elbow before landing a big right hand the face before smashing the head of Batista into the turnbuckles and lands some big blows knocking Batista down to the canvas before trying to choke him with his boot. Batista is whipped across the ring next by Kane but he ducks the attempted clothesline and kicks Kane in the midsection before landing a DDT. An almost three count and Batista is in control of this match at the moment. He whips Kane across the ring but Kane ducks under the attempted clothesline and turns around and grabs Batista around the throat as the crowd fire up but Batista breaks it by kicking Kane in the midsection then clotheslining Kane over the top rope where he lands feet first before they stare down at each other as we go to...
Commercial break...
Back from commercial and Batista is taking to Kane in the corner choking him with the boot before Kane just puts his hands around the throat of Batista and throws him into the corner where he lands a number of blows as the referee tries the count to get him to break away. Kane stomps off scaring the referee and when he turns back he walks right into a clothesline by Batista as the crowd cheer! Batista now works on Kane with blows to the head before getting him in a headlock. Kane breaks it by shoving Batista into the ropes but as he comes back he shoulder blocks Kane who crashes out of the ring through the ropes and onto the floor! Batista looks to follow him out but Kane grabs him by the foot and drags him to the floor himself where his attempted blow is blocked and Batista clotheslines him onto the floor. Batista picks him up and looks to whip Kane into the steel steps but it's reversed and shoulder first, Batista is rammed into the steps and Kane goes after him and throws him back into the ring before entering himself and going to work on the back before attempting a pin. Kane locks in leg scissors around the abdomen of Batista and with some blows to chest Batista is feeling the pain before he back elbows Kane a number of times to make him break the hold. It's the turn of Batista now who is feeling his back to beat on Kane before trying to whip him across the ring. It's reversed of course and Batista coming off the ropes is taken down by the big boot of Kane to the head!
Kane goes for the cover and almost a three count before doing to work on Batista with a knee to the back before he drags Batista to the corner, exits the ring and stretches Batista against the post focusing on his back again. He reenters the ring and approaches Batista but is met with a kick to the face. Kane tries to slam the head of Batista into the turnbuckle but it's blocked by Batista who staggers Kane with kicks and blows. Batista tries to whip Kane across the ring but it's reversed by Kane who whips Batista hard into the corner! Batista with the injured back looks like he's been shot as he falls to the canvas where Kane is down trying to catch some breath. Kane goes to work now on the back of Batista again locking in a bear hug as JBL and Cole comment on the strategy used by Kane in this match Batista manages to break the bear hug with blows to the head of Kane but Kane takes advantage again with an uppercut before more blows to the back. Kane whips Batista across the ring but it's reversed and out of nowhere Batista hits Kane with an elbow, staggering him, before taking him down with a clothesline! Kane is quickly back into control though and takes Batista down with a kick to the head!
Kane exits the ring and climbs to the top rope but as he comes down is met by a clothesline and Kane is flat on his back as Batista tries to crawl over to cover him. At the last moment and to a gasp from the crowd, Kane sits up and grabs Batista around the throat looks to chokeslam him! Batista manages to break out of it using elbows before whipping Kane into the corner and following in with a clothesline. Batista tries it again but is knocked away by Kane. Kane comes out but is taken down by a kick to the head from Batista. Batista can't make the cover though still! Kane looks to be whipped across the ring but he manages to pick up Batista and deliver a side slam before attempting the cover yet again. An almost 3 count again and Kane is then out to the top rope again where he leaps in with a flying clothesline and almost gets another three count! Kane raises his hand and measures up Batista for the chokeslam but Batista notices at the last minute, ducks under it, picks up Kane and offloads with a spinebuster!
Batista tries to lock in a Batista Bomb but can get it locked in as Kane rams him back first into the turnbuckle! Batista staggers out but this time Kane is waiting as he picks him up and lands a choke slam! We so almost get a three count and Kane removes his elbow pads and is disgusted at not getting the three count. Kane looks to go after Batista in the corner and mounts the second rope offloading onto Batista! Batista manages to lock his arms around the thighs of Kane however and from the position of being in the corner carries a weakly struggling Kane into the middle of the ring dropping the Batista Bomb from that position! Batista, feeling the pain goes for the cover and this one is over! Batista defeated Kane in 17 minutes. Rudi's rating - *** Rudi's rant - This match if it's an indication towards the Undertaker, Batista match at Wrestlemania shows just the level of work Batista still needs to do. There wasn't much in the way of rest holds but the two plodded along towards the eventual result. They put together an okay match though and I don't think they'd be looking at any high risk maneuvers this close to Wrestlemania so all in all, neither was cheated I think. Post match and Kane rolls out of the ring and Batista feels the pain in his back as he slowly gets to his feet before we get a replay of the last few seconds of the match. Back to action and on his knees Batista is helped to his feet by the referee as Kane looks quite upset outside of the ring. We're then given a video showing Lashley's actions over the past couple of weeks being chosen as the representative of Donald Trump. This is just a rehash of what has happened so far in their storyline. Back to Cole and JBL discussing the match at Wrestlemania as we go to...
Commercial break...
Back from commercial and another McMahon and Trump recap with stars at the premiere of Wild Hogs commenting on who they want to win or not. Back to the real world and Miz is in the ring with a set up for a new segment called MizTV. Miz is sitting on the canvas between two chairs and he says that to be a guest you have to be a big star and seeing this is the first segment he wants something bigger than a star, it has to be hot and of course that means Ashley for another promo of her shoot in Playboy. She comes out and sets off the little pyro that makes the magazine cover banner unfurl. She comes to the ring and won't sit on the floor with Miz. She'll sit on the chair instead. Miz asks her about the edition and Ashley looks all excited and she says that she was so excited and nervous when she did the shoot which is funny seeing she's done one before under another name. She looks happy though and that is what is important until the music of MnM hits and out comes Melina to the ring. Miz forgot to tell her he had a second guest which is her. Ashley looks not impressed at that as Melina enters and sits opposite Ashley. Melina is asked if the Ashley attention is making her jealous. Melina says no because she couldn't be paid enough money to pose for Playboy. She has a boyfriend and her body is sacred for one man to see only and that is Nitro. Ashley says that isn't what she heard which gets a big cheer from the crowd. They continue this tit for tat until Ashley demands a match at Wrestlemania for the championship. Melina gets up and goes face to face with Ashley before blindsiding Ashley with a cheap shot. Melina does a lot of hair pulling and tossing which is then repeated by Ashley who then lays punches into her before throwing her around again. Melina decides she's had enough and exits the ring as Ashley at the ropes makes the sign of having the belt around her waist. This Melina/Ashley match was on the cards ever since Mickie James was made to lose the title. It's a way to promote Ashley and the deal WWE obviously have with Playboy and would it get me to buy the magazine? Nope, but that's okay, others will. What matters here is whether Ashley is ready for a title run if she wins it? She's improved yes, but is she ready? I don't think so yet. I'd still rather someone like Maria from RAW win it because her improvement in the ring has been much more noticeable. All I wonder is if these two can put on a good match without someone getting hurt. Melina is still rough in the ring herself as evidenced by Mickie landing on her head during a botched move on RAW the other night and Ashley has sadly been injury prone so it's a bit of a gamble. The segment itself of MizTV? MTV? It's an interesting way they've done it and I'd rather see him wrestle than have another segment like this which has been done to death over the years by the likes of Jericho and Edge. Miz is great on a mic though, I'll give him that.
We then go backstage to where Kristal approaches an upset Kane and asks him to compare between Batista and Undertaker who he's both wrestled. Kane looks upset and all of a sudden from behind Kane where he was obviously spotted by the cameraman who was filming appears the Great Khali who just keeps throwing Kane into the chain fence, delivers a number of headbutts which break him open and then screams incoherently before ramming his head again and again into the fence which I think means cage match for Wrestlemania between these two? Khali raises his arms again and then struts off. Wrestlemania, or parts of it is looking scary with people like Khali having a big match like he has against Kane. I so don't know what to make of this guy and I'd hate to run up against him in a dark alley but he's a monster and that is what Vince likes. He reminds me a little of Giant Gonzales we saw earlier in the Undertaker clips.
Commercial break...
Back from commercial and Mr. Kennedy makes his way to the ring and introduces himself. He's Mr. Kennedy.. Money in the Bank..... and he mounts the corner.... Bank....... He points to the Wrestlemania sign as the music of CM Punk hits and he makes his way out to the ring with not the hugest reaction because noone knew he was coming?
Match 3: Mr. Kennedy vs. CM Punk Kennedy begins the match by trash talking at Punk before he kicks out at Punk who kicks him back. Kennedy with a kick to the midsection takes early control with the headlock which is reversed by Punk but he's forced into the corner and Kennedy bad mouths him again before Punk pushes him away. Kennedy slaps Punk and then hightails it out of the ring under the bottom rope. Punk follows but is taken down by a mean looking clothesline which slams him flat against the floor. Kennedy throws Punk back in the ring and goes for the cover but only for a two count. Kennedy continues to beat into Punk and throws him face first into the corner. Kennedy is looking very intense in this match as he throws Punk into the corner and kicks him repeatedly until pushed away by the referee. Kennedy then charges back into the corner but Punk, who was sitting on the canvas lifts his legs and Kennedy runs straight into them. He staggers away but then comes in and continues the kicks before a bodyslam. Kennedy then with the attempt at a splash from the ropes but he jumps right into the raised knees of Punk who then starts to mount some offense against Kennedy. Punk with a number of lefts and rights against Kennedy takes control before pushing him into the corner. Punk charges in and delivers a high knee but Kennedy was read for this and he pretty much lifts him up and drops him over the top rope, the back and shoulder of Punk connecting with the apron before he crashes to the floor.
Commercial break...
Back from commercial Kennedy is covering Punk for an attempted pin before beating continually into Punk with lefts and rights. Kennedy wrenches the neck as we get a bit of CM Punk chant from the crowd before more Kennedy assault. Punk manages to break out finally and ducks a couple of attempts at hitting by Kennedy as he gets him back with his own hits. He kicks Kennedy in the head before bouncing off the top rope and landing a crossbody onto Kennedy. A clothesline by Punk and the crowed is firing up a little. Kennedy coming off the ropes from an Irish whip kicks Punk in the chest but is then taken down with a dropkick. An attempted pin and a kick out by Kennedy. Punk throws Kennedy shoulder first into the steel ring post, then gives him the high knee in the corner before landing a bulldog on him! Another attempt at a pin. Punk measures Kennedy and kicks him before whipping him into the corner. An attempted high knee is broken by Kennedy tossing Punk over the top tope but Punk this time lands on his feet on the apron! Punk jumps into the ring and onto the second rope in the corner looking to do a moonsault perhaps but Kennedy shakes the ropes and Punk crotches himself! It's Kennedy now who grabs Punk and lands an inverted DDT from the second rope. He drags Punk away from the ropes and makes the cover and this one is over! Mr. Kennedy defeated CM Punk in 8 minutes. Rudi's rating *** 1/2 Rudi's rant - I liked most of this match except for the fact that Kennedy didn't get much punishment dished out to him. It makes me wonder if CM Punk is still in the doghouse a little because Kennedy's assault was very brutal at times and that of Punk was very scattered and unbecoming of his talents. That clothesline on the floor and the toss over the top rope where Punk landed back first on the apron looked quite nasty but Punk just kept going. Kennedy is certainly the golden child of WWE at the moment. Great match anyway! Post match and Mr. Kennedy quietly celebrates his win as he points to the Wrestlemania sign as we go backstage to where Kristal has Finlay with her and asks about his match with Undertaker. Finlay isn't scared. He's Irish. He's all grown up, he's not afraid of the Undertaker. There is pure hot Irish blood in his veins. If he wants to take Finlay to hell? Finlay's Irish, he's been there. You won't see fear in those eyes! Got it? And he wanders off Short, sharp and intense by Finlay! Go the Irish!
Commercial break...
Back from commercial and Finlay is making his way to the ring. JBL has known Finlay for 20 years and knows he won't be scared by Undertaker. Finlay sets himself in the ring as he does before we get the gong, the lights go down and Undertaker makes his usual long entrance to the ring as I go to the bathroom. Back and Undertaker is almost to the ring by now. Finlay looks on from the apron as Undertaker finally is ready to fight.
Match 4: Finlay vs. The Undertaker Finlay ducks under Undertaker coming at him in the corner, not once but twice before Finlay begins to assault Undertaker in the corner. Finlay is finally pushed away by the referee and that allows Undertaker to come out and yank Finlay into the corner where he takes to him with a number of blows before going to work on the arm of Finlay much to the delight of the crowd. The delight is bigger as Undertaker goes Old School on Finlay with the big arm to the shoulder and the attempted pin. Finlay is slammed into the corner with Undertaker focusing on the arm and shoulder and then a number of heavy blows in the corner. Finlay breaks the assault though of Undertaker with a rake to the eyes before with some big blows knocks Undertaker out of the ring and follows him taking to him with blows and slamming his head against the apron. A big uppercut by Finlay and a headbutt and a slam of the head against the announce table before Undertaker with a big boot stops Finlay dead in his tracks. He then picks him up and throws him into the bell table and looks to go after him but the crowd cheers as we see Lil' Bastard (I refuse to call him Hornswoggle) comes out from under the apron to save Finlay. Undertaker looks at him and Lil' Bastard screams and then goes back under the ring. The referee is too busy watching Lil' Bastard as Finlay decides it's time to use a chair as we go to...
Commercial break...
Back from commercial and Finlay is working on Undertaker. Finlay has Undertaker in the corner and hip tosses Undertaker before going to work on the arm and chest of Undertaker. Finlay ducks under a blow and works on Undertaker again in the corner with a number of shoulder blocks and then a clothesline and his rump jump squat. Undertaker tries to get back at him but Finlay trips him up for an attempted cover before yanking him out of the ring again. Finlay rams Undertaker into the steel ring post and grabs a chair but has to drop it on command from the referee. This gives Undertaker a chance to fight back and he takes to Finlay on the apron with a big boot to the face and a big elbow before climbing onto the apron himself and dropping a big legdrop on him knocking him to the floor. He picks Finlay up by his tights then slams his head into the announce table before rolling back into the ring and then out before he takes Finlay down with another big boot to the face! Undertaker feels his sore ribs before dragging Finlay around the ring. He picks him up and looks to slam him into the barricades but Finlay slides out and rams Undertaker twice into the steel ring steps. Finlay from the apron drops a hammer blow to the back of Undertaker but Undertaker fights back before Finlay kicks him in the back. He rams him into the apron again, then enters the ring and drops Undertaker from the apron with a dropkick. He mounts the apron and goes to leap onto Undertaker but is caught in midair! Undertaker just rams him back first into the steel ring post!
It's the turn of Undertaker now to go after Finlay but an attempted whip into the ring steps is reversed by Finlay and Undertaker is rammed into the steps. He goes for the shillelagh but is stopped by the referee again so he enters the ring and waits for Undertaker to reenter. More offense by Finlay in the ribs of Undertaker until Undertaker just out of nowhere fights back until Finlay takes him down with a big boot to the head. An attempted pin but to no avail. More blows by Finlay, staggering Undertaker until a suplex attempt is reversed by Undertaker with a snap suplex! We get Undertaker with a big right hand and they go toe to toe at each other with Undertaker gaining control after a flying clothesline from Undertaker! A big clothesline in the corner and then another on Finlay and he's looking weak as Undertaker picks Finlay up, Snake eyes, the big boot and then the leg drop! He goes for the cover though but to no avail. Undertaker measures Finlay for the chokeslam and the referee is checking on Finlay which allows Lil' Bastard to enter the ring and hit Undertaker with the shillelagh of his own. Undertaker no sells it totally and then with contempt just gives him a boot to the face. The referee checks on Lil' Bastard as the distraction allows Finlay to give Undertaker a low blow and then a DDT! Finlay goes for the cover but the push away from Undertaker knocks Finlay into the referee and he is down. Finlay grabs the shillelagh and takes to Undertaker with it and then goes for the pin as the referee comes to and we get an almost 3 count. Finlay grabs Lil' Bastard and looks to throw him at Undertaker but is kicked to the head for that attempt and it's not time for the chokeslam and Finlay is down with that. It's now the finger across the throat as Undertaker picks Finlay up and gives him a Tombstone Piledriver and this one is over! Undertaker defeated Finlay in 17 minutes Rudi's rating - *** 1/2 I'm biased here in saying I love Finlay. Sure he can be predictable though not as predictable as Undertaker but he takes everything that is dished out to him and gives it back just as hard. He works well with most wrestlers and Lil' Bastard does add that different dimension to the match. Undertaker took some beating in this one and it was good to see that he allowed himself to be taken to. I know Finlay won't win the Money in the Bank match but geez I wish he would! Post match and Undertaker is regaining his breath and the music of Batista hits and he comes out onto the rampway and gives Undertaker the thumbs up, thumbs down sign and Undertaker stares at him and points at him, gives him the throat slash gesture and we go off air.....
Another week gone and another week without the Tag Team Champions, no Deuce 'n' Domino, no Regal or Taylor for weeks and no Mercury tonight and no Benoit even and then no cruiserweights either. We had some very long matches though and that makes up for it a little though Batista vs. Kane was lacking in fire more so than the other three matches. I suppose it is the build up to Wrestlemania and they're finalising story lines and so there were no real interruptions, no real chances for injuries to be caused though I still think Punk took some very sick blows. The skits based around the wrestling matches? We wait another week to see where Vickie Guerrero is going with her plans, Miz was good in his skit and Ashley and Melina did do a lot of hair pulling and tossing which has got to hurt. We had the Great Khali make his usual nasty entrance though there were some brutal moves there on Kane. Watch for the cage match stipulation on that one! At least if there was one bonus, we didn't have a live Vince McMahon to steal away the show though there were enough promos about him sadly. I'm giving the show at least a 6 1/2 out of 10 tonight, the commentary a good 8 1/2 out of 10 because JBL was on the ball and the crowd a 6 out of 10 because they allowed themselves to be put into a stupor by some of the matches. Have a great week all. Stay safe and catch you all next week!
