- Thanks to joe flores flores for sending in this live report:
The show started off with Teddy long announcing that Batista will be a no show tonite, not to please the crowd. Match 1 was Chris benoit vs fit finlay for the US title. As always a good old fashioned hard hitting classic effort by both men. Finlay got great heat for his crowd heel antics. Benoit is Benoit, got a good pop for his class. Finlay tapped put to the Crippler crossface. Match 2 was a ECW vs Smackdown diva tag team match between Kelly Kelly and Trinity vs Michelle Mc cool and Jillian hill. Matt Striker was the guest heel referee. The match had some quality efforts and smooth pace. Alot of classic didn't see- return to your corner against Kelly Kelly. Striker was playing the backstabber to ECW and favored the Smackdown girls to win. After the match Striker was belittling the audience and Kelly Kelly, which no surprise earned him a low blow from behind. Match 3 Tommy Dreamer jobbed to Sylvester Terkay with his sidekick, Elijah Burke. Burke played the role of Jimmy Hart without the megaphone while Terkay pummeled Dreamer. Match 4 had the tag team belts on the line for Brian Kendrick andPaul London vs William Regal and David Taylor. Some great work against the audience with funny tactics by Regal and Taylor. London and Kendricked high paced the match to the delite of the crowd. London hit the shooting star plex then covered Taylor for the win. Match 5 had Jamie Noble job to a new Japanese high flyer. The match was a typical Lyger like match with basic flying counters. Noble was not succesful in grounding him and when he did he was pinned on a roll up. King Booker came out and called out the playa Long and he came out quickly. Booker challenged any sucka in the locker room and Long questined his call. Booker agreed and was frightened when the Boogeyman came out from behind for match 6. Alot of action with a few missed spots by Boogeyman. After being blinded ala Sunshine (WCCW) by powder, T hit the scissors kick for the win. Match 7 had 6 man action between RVD , Sandman, and Sabu against Kevin Fertig, Mike Knox, and some new Wilson guy. Huge muscle mass was the only thing this musclehead offered as the typical puncher, shoulder blocker, and power punisher made his debut. (Yawn) Awesome pops for the originals as they tore the house down. Sabu missed a rope suicide but scored the pinfall alongside RVD's frogsplash. Match 8 had Lashley vs Hardcore Holly in a tough mat match between the wiley veteran against the ROY. Holly grounded Lashley as best as he could but the champ was too much as he muscled his way to victory with his finisher. Match 9 had the roof blown off with the introduction of the undertakerand Kane against MVP and Mr Kennedy. Awesome physical match, however Kennedy failled to sell to the brothers punishment. MVP was jobbing to Kennedy as Kennedy made him take most of the beating. Kane was on all nite pummeling his foes. Taker pleased the ceowd with okd school and classic brutality. The match ended with Kennedy taking the Last ride and was also chokeslammed. Thats how it finished here in Laredo, Texas. Biggest Pops 1 Taker 2 Boogeyman 3 Lashley Biggwst Heat 1 Finlay 2 Regal and Tatlor 3 Stryker
