  • During WWE’s Tribute To The Troops taping in Baghdad, Iraq, the setup crew found themselves in a deadly war zone. While setting up for the event last Thursday, December 7th, a mortar attack took place right near the makeshift arena. WWE.com has added video footage which shows a WWE cameraperson being knocked to the ground, and then pulled to safety under a flatbed truck. Footage was also added that shows a soldier taking off his body armor and giving it to a WWE producer. Several people were injured during the attack, but no one from WWE.

Thirteen members of the WWE crew involved in the incident were awarded metals from the Lieutenant Colonel who was in charge of the area that was attacked. The metals honor entertainers or those working in entertainment organizations that are involved in action while entertaining troops.
