TNA Wrestling iMPACT!
Thursday, December 7, 2006
iMPACT! Zone; Universal Studios Soundstage 21
The show opens with Rhino on the mic. Rhino recounts AJ Styles’ threats of if the two of them crossed paths again Style would have a problem. Essentially Rhino dared AJ to come to the ring and the two of them can throw down. Instead of Style, Rhino gets Christopher Daniels who is still attempting to make peace. Daniels says that Rhino’s problem with AJ is very similar to Rhino’s previous issue with Christian Cage, and now Daniels is going to try and prevent the problem from escalating. It goes straight through Rhino’s ears and he continues to demand that AJ Style come and face him. With that Styles jumps Rhino from behind and the two brawl until Daniels and security separates them.
Match One: Homicide (w/Hernandez and Konan) v. Petey Williams
The match begins highpaced with a lot of chain and reversal style wrestling. Both competitors appeared evenly matched. Williams went for the Canadian Destroyer but it was countered into a near Gringo Killa, but Williams manages to reverse that into a rollup to get the surprising pin fall upset victory. Before Petey can celebrate Hernandez hts the ring and the LAX ensues a gang style beat down on Williams until AMW comes in and makes the save.
Winner: Petey Williams
Paparazzi Productions continue the PCS Championship Series skits. Kevin Nash is playing a mental doctor. He is holding up paintings to the X Division superstars and asking them what they look like. Senshi insists that every painting looks like a Warrior (Jim Hellwick!?) Austin Starr believes them to be him winning the TNA Triple Crown, and Alex Shelly tells Kevin Nash that his painting is that of Nash breaking Shelley’s heart by choosing Starr as his top man.
Match Two: Eric Young v. Senshi
Super Eric came to the ring in his workout gear as he continues his training regimen to prepare for his bikini contest against Miss Brooks. Senshi grew tired of waiting for Young to stop running around the ring as per his entrance so he knocked him on the floor. The match is in essence a squash as Senshi controls it all the way through. As always Senshi’s shots look incredibly stiff. Young does eventually try to fight back with some punches but when Robert Roode and Brooks comes ringside,a ll it took was a pose distraction from Brooks to give Senshi the upperhand, hit the Warrior’s way and pick up the pin-fall victory.
Winner: Senshi
Jim Cornette came to the ring for an announcement regarding the LAX/AMW confrontations. Cornette said a flag match would take place at Turning Point. He was interrupted by Christian Cage and Tomko. Cage said he noticed Cornette was too busy stopping 1st amendment rights when he should be doing a background check on Abyss. Cornette says that he has been doing checks and Tomko barely passed his. Cage starts up on Abyss again but he was interrupted by the NWA World Heavyweight Champion who hit the ring and attacked both men. They were able to turn the tables on Abyss when Sting came out sending Cage/Tomko running backstage. Sting asks Abyss for a handshake which he appears to give until halfway through the handshake when he hits Sting with the Black Hole Slam
A promo airs for Raven’s new flock: Serotonin
Match Three: Sting v Cage v Rhino v. Angle v Joe v Abyss
Before the match began AJ Styles attacked Rhino and they fought backstage. The match began with Angle and Cage squaring off and Angle hiptossed him before delivering forearm shots. Angle wrapped up Cage in a waistlock but Cage got to his feet only to be hit with a belly to belly suplex. Cage was taken again to the mat with a chinlock before switching to a body scissor. Tomko went to interfere but Samoa Joe keeping to his end up the deal with Angle sent him back to the floor. Cage gets to his feet and eventually tags in Abyss. Abyss hit Angle with Shock Treatment but Joe stopped the pin hitting a powerslam. Sting got involved and clotheslined Abyss to the floor. Cage attempted a unprettier on Joe but its reversed into the muscle buster. Tomko came in and decked Joe with a kick. But Angle comes in makes the save on Joe keeping his promise. Angle tosses Cage to the outside jus leaving Angle and Joe in the ring. As Joe got up Angle hit the Olympic Slam on Joe and scores the victory proving that their will be no deals or allies in the rematch.
Winner: Kurt Angle
