WWE Heat Recap (10.2706)

To be perfectly honest, I completely forgot to do a Heat Recap last weekend. And to be even more honest, you didn't miss anything because it was a Halloween Special with just some old matches involving masked wrestlers like Rey, Hurricane, and Mankind. This week though, we've got actual Heat matches. I had to do a double-take when I jumped to WWE.com, so let's get right into it.

Match #1: “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan vs Colt Cobana

Colt plays up the heel role well while Hacksaw makes his entrance, actually displaying fear of Duggan's 2x4 and protesting it being at ringside. The opening bell rings while Duggan gets a “USA” chant started. Hacksaw gets things started with an Irish whip and a clothesline on Colt, followed by a couple more, then quickly setting up for the three-point stance. Colt scouts it though and ducks to the outside before Hacksaw can charge him.

Colt regroups on the outside while another “USA” chants starts and Hacksaw goes out after him. A few punches to Colt's face and then throws him back in the ring. Back in the ring, Colt takes control with a cheap shot and a few punches of his own. Then we're into the early resthold, as Colt locks in a sitting rear chinlock. With a worn down Hacksaw, Colt goes for a cover but only gets two, so he tries again for the same result. Another punch from Colt and he slaps another rear chinlock on the ol' veteran.

Hacksaw starts to rally back, but Colt hammers away at him and sends him headfirst into the turnbuckle pad, then follows it up with a little strut while Duggan reels in the corner. Colt goes to smash his head into the turnbuckle again, but Hacksaw reverses it and slams Colt into the pad, then sends him all the way across the ring to the other turnbuckle to do the same thing, and throws in three more turnbuckle smashes for good measure. With Colt dazed, Hacksaw mounts over him in the corner and starts punching away on him. After the ol' ten punches routine, Hacksaw gives the big thumbs up to the crowd, which gives Colt enough time to regroup and rake Duggan's eyes.

Colt tries for an Irish whip to the opposite corner, but Hacksaw reverses it and then scoops him up for a big body slam. Hacksaw then takes the three-point-stance and nails the big charging clothesline and scores the pinfall.

    Winner: “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan

Segment: This is just a recap of Kevin Federline's involvement on Monday Night Raw this past week. The Raw Report can give a better breakdown of this than I ever could, so if you haven't seen or heard about this yet, just go read the Raw Report.

Match #2: Super Crazy vs Charlie Haas

We have a lockup and Charlie gets in the first move with a quick armdrag that he celebrates while Crazy gets back to his feet. They circle eachother some and lockup again, this time Haas takes him down with a hip toss. They lockup a third time, this time with Haas powering Crazy over into the far corner where the referee calls for a clean break. Haas goes for a punch instead, but it's blocked by Crazy who answers with a punch of his own. Fighting out of the corner, Crazy then whips Haas into the same corner and then hip tosses him down to the mat. Haas gets back to his feet quickly only to be taken down again by a standing dropkick from the insane luchadore. Before Haas is even able to get to his feet, Crazy puts him right back down with a drop toehold and rolls him up into a pin attempt for a two-count.

Crazy tries for another ministrole cradle and gets the same result as before. Haas rolls outside of the ring to stop the momentum, so Crazy follows out after him. After hitting what might possibly be the weakest double axhandle I've ever seen in my life on Haas, Haas turns and delivers a knee lift and tries to ram Crazy's skull into the mat, but it's blocked and Crazy slams his head instead. Haas gets rolled back into the ring and tries to hit Crazy as he climbs back in, but Crazy hits him with a shoulder thrust and then vaults over Haas. Haas ducks down though and Crazy hits the mat where Haas kicks away at him to keep him down.

Haas starts working away on Crazy's back with knee lifts and then a modified backbreaker. After a few more kicks to Crazy's back, the Mexican superstar starts fighting back though, and whips Haas to the ropes. Haas manages to block the attempt and delivers a double arm-hook suplex for good measure. Haas delivers some more kicks to the back and then locks in a chinlock/camel clutch hybrid. Crazy fights out of it only to get the business end of Haas' boot to his face. After an elbow drop from Haas, he goes for the cover on Crazy but only gets two.

From there, Haas locks in an abdominal stretch. Here, they start doing the ol' “Grab the top rope for leverage when the ref ain't looking” bit. The referee finally catches him in the act and orders the hold to be broken. Haas puts Crazy down to the mat again with a body slam, but when he goes for an elbow drop again, Crazy gets his knees up to block it. Haas charges a still groggy Crazy in the corner, but gets nothing but turnbuckle for his troubles. Then Crazy hits a springboard dropkick off the middle rope.

Crazy whips Haas to the ropes and nails him with a back spinning heel kick. From there, Crazy goes up top and hits Haas with a missile dropkick and then a standing moonsault to make the cover and get a two-count. Haas comes back with a couple of kicks suddenly and gets Crazy up in a fireman's carry, but Crazy floats over into a sunset flip and rolls Haas up for a pin and gets the surprise three-count.

    Winner: Super Crazy

Heat Main Event: The Highlanders vs. Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch

Rory and Trevor start off with Trevor delivering a boot to the mid-section, followed up by a whip to the ropes and a hard back elbow that sends Rory reeling. Lance tags in and hits a charging shoulder block, as Trevor shoves Rory towards him. Lance delivers a body slam and goes for a running elbow drop, but Rory rolls out of the way and catches Lance in a wristlock, tagging in Robbie with a slap to the face. Robbie keeps up the wristlock and tags Rory immediately back in. Rory comes off the second rope with a headbutt to Lance's arm and goes right back to the wristlock again and tags in Robbie once more. Robbie goes to the top rope and hits a headbutt of his own to Cade's arm this time. Robbie goes for the wristlock again, but Cade punches out of it.

Cade whips Robbie to the corner and charges in, but gets a boot to the face for his troubles, which allows enough time for Rory to tag back in again. Robbie hurls Rory shoulder first into Cade's mid-section, and when Trevor comes in to help his partner, the Highlanders end up throwing him shoulder first into Cade's mid-section. Trevor is then put down with a double-team back body drop, followed by the Highlanders clotheslining both of their opponents over the top rope to the outside.

While Robbie goes to his corner, Trevor distracts Rory long enough for Lance to get back in the ring and jump Rory from behind. Trevor tags in and hits Rory with a right hand to the mid-section. When he whips Rory into the neutral corner and charges in though, he gets a back elbow to the head instead, followed by a couple of headbutts that send Trevor crashing face first to the mat with his ass in the air. Robbie tags in and drops an elbow right on the back of Trevor's head then goes for the cover, but only gets a one-count.

Trevor manages to kick out of a back body drop attempt, while Lance sneaks in from behind and delivers a reverse atomic drop to Robbie, followed by Trevor hitting him iwth a running boot to the face. Cade is in now and goes to work on the fallen Robbie with strikes and chokes. Cade and Murdoch then start doing their own frequent tags and work on Robbie in the corner with chops and throws. Trevor then whips Cade into Robbie while he's in their corner, then Cade shoves a stunned Robbie over to Murdoch to takes him down with a standing release back drop. Trevor goes for the cover, but it's only good for a two.

Trevor spies Rory reaching for a tag, so he hauls off and decks him off of the ring apron. As Rory jumps into the ring to protest, Cade and Murdoch work over Robbie in their own corner. Robbie tries to fight back, but Cade stops the momentum shift with another back drop. Trevor tags in and stops a batter Robbie from crawling to his corner for a tag. Trevor goes for the cover after a suplex, but only gets two. Robbie finally fights back though after breaking out of a chinlock and puts Murdoch down with a desperation dropkick.

We finally get the hot tag to Rory, while Cade tags himself in as well. Rory goes to work on both men with double axhandles and running shoulder thrusts. But when he goes up top for a flyiing headbutt, Trevor rolls out of the way while Cade tripped up Robbie over in the corner. Then Cade and Murdoch measured up the staggering Rory and nailed him with their clothesline/leg sweep combo to score the quick win.

Winners: Trevor Murdoch and Lance Cade
