Hello everyone and welcome to the first of many UFC recaps provided to you here exclusively on LOP by myself, the one and only Julius. I’ve been a longtime fan and follower of the UFC way back since its inception, and now am looking forward to becoming re-acquainted with it here as I bring you the most consistent UFC coverage on the net. So now without further delay, here is UFC 64: Unstoppable Live from the Mandalay Events Center in Las Vegas, NV. .
(Forgive any lapses in coverage of this event, as the PPV feed for this show was very poor, with the feed sometimes cutting out completely for numerous parts of the show.)
Our show begins with Mike Goldberg and Randy ‘The Natural’ Couture running down the card for tonight’s show. They go over the details for each showdown until we cut into our first video package of the night, which is the signal for our first big fight between...

Mike Goldberg and Randy Couture now reflect on the career of UFC Hall Of Famer Ken Shamrock. A video of Ken’s final fight with Tito plays, as well as comments by several other UFC fighters and a montage of his greatest moments. All in all a very classy segment and a fitting tribute to one of the true pioneers of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Well done.
After this we get a long promotional video for the upcoming film, Saw 3. After this Mike Goldberg interviews an older gentleman (Tobin Bell) who is starring in the movie. They draw comparisons between the film and the UFC, then promote and plug the movie endlessly. After all this we go into the promotional video for the first of our two main event fights between Kenny Florian and Sean Sherk for the new Lightweight Championship.
Kenny ‘Ken-flow’ Florian (7-2 from Boston, MA) vs. Sean ‘The Muscle Shark’ Sherk ( 34-2-1 from Minneapolis, MN)

Silva says that he is ‘the man’ and that Rich Franklin was a good fighter, and he is happy to have won the title. Franklin apologizes for his poor showing and promises that he will return stronger someday.

Guida then applies a clean rear naked choke and James has no choice but to tap out.
Official Result: Clay Guida by tap out
Mike Goldberg and Randy Couture now close out the show by discussing the two new champions crowned tonight, as well as the future path of Rich Franklin. And that my friends, is all she wrote. All in all a pretty decent event. The two main events both delivered in my eyes, in their own different ways with the under card with the exception of the opening knockout and the post show fight being largely forgettable. If you’re well off financially and want to see it, I’d say go ahead and get the replay. However, if you’re like me, a modestly blessed individual I’d save my money for the next show, or the inevitable Tito vs. Chuck showdown. This is my final say.
