Hello everyone and welcome to another TNA recap provided to you right here on Lords Of Pain dot net, by yours truly, Jules. So now that we’ve been introduced let’s dive into the action.

Jeremy Borash corners Jeff Jarrett backstage and asks him about the title situation. Jeff answers by saying “Sometimes the fight, just isn’t worth fightin’ anymore”. He then walks off looking despondent, as we cut back to the Impact Zone and a shot of the jam packed Orlando crowd.

In the ring stands Samoa Joe with the NWA heavyweight title in tow. He says since the jackass that normally carries around the title gets as much air time as he wants, that it was his turn for a change. In response to why he is currently holding the NWA title “hostage” Joe says that for the last four years the title has been held hostage by paper champions, and used as a tool for political leverage instead of the prestigious accolade it was in the days of Dory Funk and Harley Race. He says that at Bound For Glory he will hand the title back over to the winner of the match on the condition that he gets a title shot in return. Christian Cage now appears on the ramp taking offense to Joe labeling him as a paper champion. He asks if Joe was really talking about him when he made that statement. Joe says that he was mainly thinking about Jeff Jarrett, but that Christian was a very close second. Christian then challenges Joe to a fight, tonight in an unsanctioned ladder match for possession of the NWA title belt. Joe accepts.

In the back Borash is now with LAX. Konnan starts talking about hunting gringo meat, when from out of nowhere Christopher Daniels and AJ Styles bumrush the interview run off LAX and slam Konnan’s head into the lockers. The brawl between the teams then ensues as we cut to commercial.

We’re back from commercial and LAX and Styles are still brawling their way throughout the Impact Zone. The fight has now found its way to the ringside area. They all trade shots in and out of the ring before the action spills into the stands, by the Spanish broadcasting table. LAX barricades Christopher Daniels behind the cage wall they have set up by their entrance. AJ tries to climb the wall to get to his fallen friend, but is unable. Security and referees storm out to break it up while a vignette for Bound For Glory is played. During the vignette Ron Killings comments on the Sting/Jarrett encounter. Rhino is asked but gets offended that they would consult him on his opinion an that match when he has been having problems of his own with Christian Cage for over a month now.

Bobby Roode has finally made a decision regarding his long standing managerial situation. He calls all of the managers he has met with over the last few weeks, then we see a close up of a huge pair of very familiar looking breasts. Ladies and gentlemen, Bobby Roode has selected, Traci Brooks.

Match: Alex Shelley, Jonny Devine, Petey Willams and Senshi vs Sharkboy, Chris Sabin, Jay Lethal and Sonjay Dutt.

Prior to the match Jerry Lynn speaks to his team, telling them to knock off the Jackass shenanigans. They all agree, then leave. Chris Sabin then returns briefly, calls Jerry Lynn and old man and advises him to keep his eye on this match to see what the X Division is all about.

The match is back and forth for most of the early going with lots of your typical everyday X-Division spots. Sabin and Shelley finally square off and exchange some moves including a nice DDT by Sabin. Everyone then spills into the ring and its bedlam in the Impact Zone. Planchas are flying everywhere. Somewhere in the midst of this madness, Chris Sabin gets the rollup victory. After the match a teary eyed Kevin Nash appears on the big screen and laments over the sorry state of the X-Division that he helped build over his legendary thirty year career. He then announces a special invitational gauntlet battle royal for BFG. More details to come next week.

Your winners: Sharkboy, Chris Sabin, Jay Lethal and Sonjay Dutt.

The next Sting/Jarrett vignette plays with AJ Styles offering up his thoughts on the match, and then Christian, like his predecessor Rhino turning his back on the camera and refusing to talk about this big upcoming career vs. title bout.

A Kurt Angle preview airs. Tonight will be his first official appearance on Impact in an exclusive interview.

A creepy Sting vignette airs with him uttering some biblical warnings, and then the voice over guys gets into character and starts shouting like a madman as well. I need a drink. (Scratch, make that, another drink).

Match – Diamonds In The Rough vs. Ron Killings and Lance Hoyt

DITR gets an early advantage on Hoyt with some solid double teaming. The camera then cuts away to Raven, who is speaking to his future Monster’s Ball opponents, Abyss and Runt. Raven calls Samoa Joe a coconut eater and lambasts him for overlooking their match. Back in the ring, Ron Killings has made a grand return and is rapidly disposing of both Skipper and Young. Hoyt hits a few powers moves of his own before Killings gets the easy sunset flip victory. Simon Diamond then enters the ring looking furious with his protégé’s. He gives them a verbal lashing and then throws his sports coat at them and exits stage left. David Young then abandons Skipper in the ring. Ron Killings gives Elix a hug and then leaves. Don’t ya just get all teary eyed witnessing young love?

    Your winners: Hoyt and Killings

Another BFG promo airs, with Shane Douglas, and The James Gang being featured this time around. They hype Kurt Angle’s coming interview this time with him alluding to what he thinks about his former employers.

We’re back and its time for the exclusive Kurt Angle interview. Kurt Angle says he has accomplished everything there was to accomplish in WWE, and he sees a company on the rise with a roster full of hungry young lions in TNA. Angle talks about his drug addiction and his neck problems. He says Vince McMahon told him an Olympic Gold Medal and a cup of coffee would get him jack shit. He then tells his former employer, if they think they’ve seen Kurt Angle, they aint seen nothing yet.

Ladder Match/Fight Samoa Joe vs. Christian Cage

Samoa Joe dominates early with a big boot to the face. Cage gouges his eyes and then tries to get a foothold, Joe hits a jumping enzeguri and then retreats to retrieve the ladder from under the ring. Cage takes advantage of this by hitting a baseball slide on Joe. Joe then slides back in the ring and catches Cage off guard with a suicide dive onto Cage who’s holding the ladder!

Back from commercial and Joe is down on the mat with Christian Cage putting the boots to him. Cage sets the ladder up in the corner and goes for an irish whip. Joe easily reverses the move and sends Cage crashing into the ladder. Joe now sets up the ladder himself and gives Cage the facewash. Joe now gives Cage a big ladder assisted kick to the gonads. Ouchies. Joe goes up top to make a grab for the belt. He’s almost got it when Christian sneaks up from behind and DDT’s him off the ladder! Joe recovers and then hits a senton bomb onto the ladder which has Christian Cage trapped under it. Joe has Cage in position for the Muscle Buster, but Cage slips out of it. Cage now ascends the ladder and has the belt nearly in hand. Joe stops him and then hits a Muscle Buster off the ladder! Joe now attempts to climb the ladder, but is stopped when Abyss hits the ring. Abyss plants Joe with the Black Hole Slam and then goes up the ladder himself. Brother Runt and Raven now enter the ring and double powerbomb Abyss off the ladder. Raven and Abyss brawl on the outside while Runt climbs the ladder and hits a plancha! Christian Cage now climbs back up the ladder and grabs the belt, Joe who is seconds behind him also grabs hold of it. Rhino now runs in and tips the ladder. Joe and Rhino have a staredown. Gore on Christian! Rhino chases Christian out of the arena while Joe stands in the ring, title still in hand.

    Your winner: Samoa Joe

My thoughts: Tonight’s show was a mixed bag. I think they did an excellent job hyping up Angle’s appearance and hopefully that will lead to some improvement in the ratings. The in ring matches were mostly filler until the main event, which in my opinion was marred in typical TNA fasion by run in overkill. The LAX/Styles and Daniels feud is still the best part of TNA, due to the very basic nature it’s being run. Two teams hate each other, so they fight. They should try stuff like that more often, as it really seems to work. All in all, a thumbs in the middle show. Lots of interesting stuff occurred outside of the ring, but not enough of it inside the ring to earn this wrestling fan’s seal of approval.
