Nearly a packed house. Except for a few taped off areas for the cameras,
there were hardly any empty seats. The ECW announcer comes out to tell us we
go on air soon and we have a warm up match which is...

    Gregory Helms vs Matt Hardy
Helms was out first, to some decent heat, but when Hardy's music hit the
roof blew off the place. I guess we were just excited to see such stars in
the first match? Anyways...why the hell are these 2 fighting dark matches!?
Pay Per View quality match, albeit a bit short, that saw some great high
risk spots, good chemistry and psychology, and a good ending with Hardy
getting the win after a Twist of Fate out of nowhere.

    ECW on SciFi

Sandman vs Matt Striker in a Singapore Cane Match
Sandman was mega over, and drank/busted 3 beer cans over his head before the
match started and walked along almost the whole guard rail. There was a pole
above one turnbuckle with a cane. Interesting match, and I can see these two
having some better ones when given more time. Strike got the cane first, and
hit Sandman with a few shots. Sandman ducks a shot and kicks the cane out of
Strikers hand, catching it then caning the hell out of him. Striker gets out
before things get too bad though, and it looked like he was bleeding, but I
    couldnt really tell.

    CM Punk vs Rene Dupree
Short match, just a little longer than the usual Punk squash. He wins with
the Anaconda Vice after hitting his usual spots. Mike Knox runs out and
tried to beat down Punk, but got ran off instead. Punk stood his ground and
was over with the crowd pretty heavy. Lots of CM Punk chants.

Test came out and talked about Hardcore Holly attacking Paul Heyman. Balls'
music hits and the place erupts. 'BALLS' chants for his whole entrance. He
actually cuts a decent promo with Test before they have an impromptu match.
Test gets the win after the big boot and his spinning neckbreaker slam.
Pretty good match given it's short time. 'STEROID' chants to Test.

    Sabu vs Shannon Moore
Fast paced match with lots of the type of offense youd usually see in a Sabu
match with no weapons. Moore misses his twisting moonsault off the top and
Sabu hits a somersault leg drop from the apron to the inside of the ring for
    the win.

Rob Van Dam vs Big Show in a non title match
If RVD wins he gets a title shot at a later date
Great main event with good back and forth action along with some unique Van
Dam offense. Very close between them both until RVD had Show on the mat and
went to the top rope. Test ran out and knocked him down though and was about
to attack him with a chair until Hardcore Holly ran down to make the save.
He took out Test, and cracked Big Show with two chair shots to knock him
right back to the mat. Van Dam goes up top and flies off with the frog
    splash to get the win.

I've been to a lot of wrestling events, including 3 ECW live shows in it's
hey day and an ECW PPV, and I have to say they still deliver even though
it's within Vince's boundaries. Lots of fast paced wrestling and should make
for a great hour of television next week. 5 matches total! I just realized
    that.

    Smackdown

Ken Kennedy comes out and professes his greatness after "defeating" the
Undertaker at No Mercy. He says he's got one last person to beat on
Smackdown, a mystery opponent that Teddy Long says he has never beaten, and
then he's heading to Raw. Cue Chris Benoit.

Kennedy vs Benoit vs the US Title
Wonderful match which was given a good amount of time. Benoit locked the
sharpshooter early on and just as Kennedy was about to reach the ropes,
Benoit lets loose of the sharpshooter and locks in the crossface in one
swift move...it looked nice from where I was sitting. Lots of rest holds
from Kennedy, and as he had the advantage on Benoit, Taker's music hit. With
the music distracting Kennedy, Benoit was able to fight back and he
eventually locked in the Crossface for the win. New United States Champion =
    The Crippler.

Note: Some people I heard saying they saw the Undertaker at the entrance,
but I couldnt see him from where I was so I cant say that as a fact.

    Vito vs William Regal
Decent match. What you'd expect from these 2 wrestling each other. Vito gets
    the win.

MVP comes out and gets on the mic and says he looked up the stats for his
opponent at No Mercy and found out that he was really good or something?
Whatever. He said he didnt even break a sweat, and needs some competition
who will, in fact, make him sweat. He fears that Smackdown has no
competition for him. Teddy Long comes out and says something like "You wanna
sweat playa? Well it's about to get real hot in here!" and Kane's pyro hits.
The Big Red Machine stormed the ring and climbs in, glaring at MVP. He
destroys the blue power ranger, er, MVP, before he runs up the ramp to get
    away from the monster.

    Rey Mysterio vs Jamie Noble
Chavo and Vicki were on the ramp, but promised not to interfere. Pretty good
match, with Rey getting the win after a 619 and a springboard leg drop.
After the match, Chavo and Rey cut a promo setting up an 'I Quit' match next
week, but for some reason Rey said "I'll see you Sunday"?

Brian Kendrick, Paul London and Jimmy Wang Yang vs Teachers Pets and Sylvan
Both McCool and Ashley were looking especially hot tonight. Great 6 man
action. Yang is really getting over, he got a loud pop and all of his moves
were well recieved from the audience. I saw a lot of older southern men in
the crowd who were really enjoying his gimmick. He gets the pin on Sylvan(I
think it was Sylvan) after a super high moonsault from the top.

Batista vs Finlay vs Lashley for a shot at the World Heavyweight title next
    week
A really good main event that I didnt expect much out of. Actually, they
were pushing the main event of the show for weeks as Batista and Lashley vs
Finlay and Booker, so I was kind of happy to see it be something different,
even if it was involving 3 of the main guys. All 3 looked really good in the
ring, and didn't mess up anything I saw. Double spinebuster through the
anonuncers table on Batista by Finlay and Lashley. Crowd was actually
chanting "FINLAY" as he and Lashley went one on one in the ring. Finlay hits
the Celtic Cross but Batista pulls the ref out of the ring. Batista comes in
and clears house, eventually hitting a great looking Batista Bomb to Finlay
for the win. Little Bastard also made a couple appearances in the match.

Overall Smackdown delivered, and I hope it comes across this well on TV.
Good matches, good storyline progression, and some decent(Rey and Chavo) to
    great(Kennedy) promos.
