  • Thanks to McmanC for sending in the following live show report:

Hey wrestling fans, this is Chris just coming back from the TNA House Show at the Siegel Center in Richmond. This is my second TNA event and It was pretty damn good. There was some ROH fans around the area and the brought their chants. Let me be as detail as I can:

    1) Alex Shelly vs. Sonjay Dutt

This was a hot opener for the show as the crowd got going in this match up. It started off slow with both wrestlers playing to the crowd. Shelly pulled off a lot of innovative moves such as a back cracker from the middle rope. Shelly wins in 11:15 with the Sliced Bread #2. My rating 3.5/5

Next up, UWF promoter Hernie Sadler came with NWA Legend Magnum TA and thanked the crowd for coming. He then gave out a check of $10,000 to a lady that works for a Organization for Autistic Children. This led to AMW coming out and taking to check so they can "buy more beer". While leaving the ring, the James Gang came out and started an Impromptu match between them.

    2) America's Most Wanted vs. The James Gang

When the match started, Kip James took a camera and ran around the ring with it. Good back and forth action between the two teams. Kip then hit the Famouser on James Storm and pin him. Harris then hit Kip and switch the pinning attempt, then Hernie Sadler reversed the pinning attempt and the Referee counted the pin for a James Gang win in 12:59. 3/5

After the match, the James Gang went on with their DX antics doing the crotch chops.

    3) Monster's Ball Hardcore Match: Abyss w/ James Mitchell vs. Rhino

This match was insane and there was a few ECW chants. These two were brawling throughout the whole arena and they use weapons such as trash cans, trash lids, Staplers, and Chairs. Rhino was going for a Gore through a table, but Abyss end up chokeslamming him through a table only for a two count. Abyss brought the bag of thumbtacks, but before he use them he was Gored through a table and Rhino wins in 15:33. 4.5/5

    Intermission

    4) X-Division Fatal-4-Way Match: Shark Boy vs. Petey Williams vs. Chris Sabin vs. Eric Young

The match was pretty good and there was some comical spots between Young and Shark Boy. Shark Boy pulled of a powerbomb while Sabin was delevering a superplex to Young, which was freakin' awesome. Williams got the pin on Shark Boy after delivering a Canadian Destroyer on him in 11:30. 4/5

    5) Father vs. Son: Earl Hebner vs. Brian Hebner

Christy Hemme was the Special Guest Referee and She was looking hot tonight. Earl played the heel in the match. The craziest part of the match is when Earl pull of a hip toss on his son. Brian won when Cristy slapped Earl and Brian rolled him up in 4:52. 2.5/5

Earl complained that the ruling wasn't official because a female was offciating. So the match restarted with Dave Hebner as the referee and Brian won after a superkick in 0:36. After the match, Earl got his head shaved in his hometown. Pretty funny stuff.

    6) Jeff Jarrett vs. Samoa Joe

The ROH fans were throwing confetti during the entrance of Samoa Joe. Joe still had the NWA Title belt with him and There was some "Fuck Umaga" and "Fuck him up Joe" chants. The match was good with Joe dominating most of the match. Jarrett hit Joe with a guitar shot that was pretty loud. Joe beat Jarrett with a Musclebuster in 10:00 and he took the title belt with him. 4/5

Main Event) NWA Tag Team Championship: AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels (c) vs. LAX (Homicide and Hernandez)

This match was pretty good and there was "Fuck Batista" chants direct for Hernandez. Daniels played the face in peril in most of the match. Homicide pay tribute to Eddie Guerrero doing the Three Amigos and went for a Frog Splash, but missed leading Daniels to tag in Styles. Konnan tried to hit AJ with a Slapjack but hit Homicide instead. Daniels and AJ double-teamed Hernandez and got the pinfall after an AJ Frog-Splash in 15:13 to retain the Tag Titles. 4.5/5

Overall: I thought the show was pretty good and the ROH fans were crazy. I got my ticket stub signed by Christopher Daniels which was pretty cool. The only negative part is there was no Senshi, Truth, Christian, or Monty Brown :(. But nonetheless it was a great show. I hope I get to see TNA again in Richmond.
