WWE News: RAW gets heat for “hate speech”, Rikishi speaks on arrest, more Submitted by Jason Brown on Thursday, September 28, 2006 at 1:55 PM EST
News 24 out of South Africa published an article today saying that the Broadcasting Complaints Commission of South Africa (BCC) ruled that WWE went too far with the McMahon vs. Shawn Michaels feud using the God angle on RAW. The commission said that the remarks were "blasphemous and represented hate speech based on religion." The channel, which airs WWE programming, e.tv, argued the claim saying that it was just entertainment. Despite the claim, the network was not fined.
Jonathan Coachman appeared this morning on FOX 49’s Good Morning Kansas.
To update you on a report I made Monday, regarding former WWE superstar Rikishis’ arrest, he has released the following statement:
"I am dealing with a private matter at this time that I am unable to discuss in detail, however, I am confident my name will be cleared in a court of law soon. Additionally, I will say, make sure to have all business affairs in order and up to date and do not trust anyone to handle for you, even if that person is your wife. I thank everyone for their continue support."
