Hello everyone and welcome to another week of TNA recap goodness provided by yours truly.
Rhino is backstage; he says tonight he is going to cut Monty Brown in half with a GORE! GORE! GORE! We now cut to Monty, he starts his promo but is interrupted by Christian Cage. The two of them walk off together, apparently in some kind of collusion. Tonight by the way, there will be a falls count anywhere match between the Master of the Serengeti, and the War Machine, Rhino. That ought to be a fun one.
Jeff Jarrett now power walks to the ring. He says he has been a victim of both TNA politics, and TNA fans. He then says he is starting his own special victims unit, and he is going to make Samoa Joe his first victim, by beating him to a bloody pulp. On top of that he is also going to end Sting’s career in a public execution. No sooner than those words come out of his mouth Samoa Joe runs out and a brawl ensues. They fight it out with Jarrett gaining the upper hand with a strap. A fan then grabs the strap from Jarrett, but then gets knocked down. This distraction allows Joe to gain the advantage in this slugfest. Joe now pummels Jarrett into the crowd, and the balcony of the Impact Zone. He has the strap wrapped around his fist while he unloads a barrage of punches into the skull of Jarrett. Jarrett is then on the receiving end of a running kick from the Samoan Submission Machine. Joe pulls up Jeff’s shirt and begins strapping him with the belt. Jarrett now grabs his guitar and KABONKS Samoa Joe in the head with it busting him open. The segment closes with Jarrett choking Joe out with the broken guitar neck proclaiming that he is his ‘first victim’.
Jay Lethal vs. Petey Williams
Petey Williams starts the match off by knocking Lethal out of the ring and then hitting a leaping hurricanrana over the top rope to the floor. Petey then takes Lethal back into the ring and plants him upside down in the corner, and then does a crotch stand. Fast forward a little later and Jay Lethal gets control by flipping out of a hiptoss. Williams goes for the Canadian Destroyer but Lethal rolls out of it and hits a top rope dropkick. Williams now hits a dropkick onto the back of Lethal’s head and then nails a beautiful modified cradle DDT. He then goes for another Destroyer, but from the outside Chris Sabin and his Team USA partners corner him and hit him in the balls with a bowling ball. Lethal gets the rollup victory. Mike Tenay then reminds us that Jackass Number Two is in theatres soon!
Your winner: Jay Lethal…. And Jackass Two.
An I Hate Jeff Jarrett video is displayed featuring fan promos. My god, TNA has some really, really, ugly fans. This can’t be the best looking people that sent in videos, can it?
Jeremy Borash is in the back with Senshi, and an apparently high Chris Sabin, and his band of Jackasses. Senshi is in a serious mood, while Sabin has the giggles. Senshi walks away annoyed.
Eric Young vs. Norman Smiley
Eric Young has a phallic object in his tights, which is alluded to by the announcers. The two wrestle for a while and the object in Young’s pants is revealed to be a video tape. Young hits a weird looking neck breaker and then runs away..
Your winner: Eric Young, and VHS tapes.
In the back Shane Douglas sends another stern warning to the Naturals. After his promo Eric Young runs out with his video tape asking for Jeff Jarrett. Borash assures Young that he will get the tape to him. Borash apparently gave the tape the production team because it is playing live on the air. Eric Young basically wonders around town asking random people if they’ve seen Sting.
Monty Brown vs. Rhino ( falls count anywhere)
Rhino makes a war charge to the ring and these two beasts begin battling immediately. The fight then spills into the ring. Monty Brown goes for the first pin attempt but has it broken up when referee Earl Hebner sees his feet on the ropes. So I guess, this is a falls count anywhere except near the ring ropes match? Okay. The brawl spills back outside as the show cuts to commercial. We’re back from commercial and Rhino has drug a table into the ring. Monty Brown however takes advantage of Rhino and then sets up the table for his own usage. Rhino is perched on the corner. Monty Brown teases a Death Valley Driver through the table but Rhino counters with a Belly to Belly. They brawl some more, with the table set up in the corner. Rhino goes for a Gore but misses and inadvertently drives himself through the table. Monty Brown takes to long to take advantage of this and gets met with a spinebuster. He’s setting him up for another Gore when Christian Cage appears and we’ve got another brawl on our hands with Christian and Rhino. They fight all the way outside of the Impact Zone where Christian assaults him with a steel chair, trapping his head in between a concrete wall and the chair itself. Ouch.
No contest
Bobby Roode, who is still looking for a manager this week is in the back of another Limo with Sherri Martel. They discuss Sherri’s past success and then go off on a quaint dinner date. In the back we see a bloodied Samoa Joe vow vengeance against Jeff Jarrett for bloodying him. He seems seriously pissed off. He ends the promo with a proclamation that Jeff Jarrett will ‘die’.
Jeremy Borash stops Christian in the middle of leaving the Impact Zone. Christian explains his prior actions and then tells Borash to “Piss off, queer eye”…
It’s fiesta time in the ring as LAX and their many friends have decorated the ring with Latino decal, including an Uncle Same piñata hanging from a noose above the ring. Konan rambles on while Homicide and Hernandez busy themselves consorting with their senoritas. Konan declares from now on that Latinos and LAX will do what they like in spite of the racist American government. Konnan then pummels Uncle Sam with a belt while Homicide puffs on his cigar. AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels have heard enough and they crash the party sending the tag champs running. They have Konnan corner but then get blindsided and beat up by Homicide and Hernandez. Daniels gets tosses like a rag doll out of the ring and AJ gets brutally powerbombed by Hernandez and then hung upside down like a human piñata while Konan whacks him with a Kendo Stick. Candy.. er, I mean blood falls from his head and everyone is having a merry time! Except AJ that is.
A good PPV hype show that put over everything it had to. There was some decent wrestling intertwined with the storylines, so all in all, no complaints from me outa this hour of programming.
