Report sent in by LOP reader Marco Antonio Alvarado Ruiz

El Palacio de los Deportes was pretty much at it's entire capacity (Lilian Garcia told us that there were 19,453 on attendance) for this event, unfortunately the security was very tight and even though some people managed to get some small cameras inside, most of people couldn't since it was not allowed in the first place (this is the first time it happens and I really doesn't know the reason for it),

Before the show Carlito was out to meet the crowd, he gave the a ref his t-shirt because he couldn't decide which side deserved more, the ref threw it into the first row and everyone booed him, Carlito was asking him "what the Hell was that?" He then flirted with some girl at ringside.

Among the crowded arena were some Mexican wrestlers, I think I remember all but maybe a name or two escape my mind: Hijo del Santo, Blue Demon Jr, Fantasma and his son Hijo del Fantasma, Ultimo Dragon and Scorpio Jr.

First Match: Super Crazy Vs Shelton Benjamin.

Good match with some nice spots from both men, Shelton got a lot of heat for some unknown reason to me since in the Raw International version he hasn't been been exposed as much (it gets the most important things that happens on Raw into one hour, same for Smackdown).

The end came when in a good combination of counters Super crazy got the upper hand and applied a sunset flip for the victory.

    Winner by pinfall: Super Crazy.

Second Match: The Highlanders Vs Kenny and Mikey (WWE Tag Team Champions) from the Spirit Squad.

The Spirit Squad got out first to a very loud chorus of boos, they did a cheer or something like that and got even more heat, then The Highlanders got out to a warm response.

The match had a lot of interventions from the rest of the SS, that eventually got them ejected from the Arena. Eventually after Robby was dominated most of the match managed to give the hot tag to Rory who cleaned the house and got Kenny out of the ring, the finish then came after the Highlanders hit the Double reverse suplex on Mikey for the pinfall victory.

    Winners by Pinfall: The Highlanders.

Third Match: Lita Vs Mickie James with Special Guest Referee Val Venis:

Val Venis was out first and acknowledge the crowd on the mic to good pop. Next out was Lita who got a very good reaction and a lot of crowd support, also Mickie James got a good crowd reaction.

The match was good and fast paced with Lita using a couple of rest holds to slow things down, the end came after Lita got a school girl (I know it is usually called school boy pin but I guess the change is right for a women's match) on Mickie using the ropes, 1...2...but Val Venis saw Lita using the ropes and stop the count, Lita and him start arguing about it, this allows Mickie to catch Lita from behind into a sunset flip pin for the victory.

    Winner by Pinfall: Mickie James.

Fourth Match: Carlito Vs Randy Orton.

Both men got a good reaction from the crowd, Randy is very cheered here in Mexico since his Evolution days.

The match was good and both men got their trademark moves, Carlito now uses the ropes a lot to hit high impact moves and combination, he did this combo of an elbow drop from jumping from the middle rope and a lion's sault two get a two count. After that Orton dominated the match hitting his version of a backbreaker and getting ready for the RKO, he fails, though, and Carlito Hit his Reverse Back Breaker. Both men are down and Orton was really near the ropes, Carlito after an eternity gets to cover Orton with one arm, 1...2...Orton got his foot on the rope and that breaks the count. Carlito is pissed, he then tries to got to the top turnbuckle, the referee tries to convince him to get off the turnbuckle, this allows Orton to hit the top rope and Carlito falls over it, RKO connects! 1...2...3, and that is ll she wrote for Carlito.

    Winner by pinfall: Randy Orton.

After the match Carlito got up and received a good reaction for his efforts.

Fifth Match: Kane Vs Umaga with Armando Alejandro Estrada.

Umaga was out first, Armando Alejandro Estrada introduces Umaga and himself, he then say to the crowd "I am not Mexican" (really?...sarcasm) "And I have nothing to do with these people", that of course generated a lot of heat. Kane was out then to a good crowd reaction.

The match itself was a huge brawl with each man dominating the other at times, Kane hit a DDT, his top turnbuckle clothesline, Umaga his Samoan drop and so on. The end then came after Kane got Umaga by the troath and Umaga then hit a low blow for the DQ.

    Winner By DQ: Kane.

After the match Kane got up and he and Umaga kept brawling going into Backstage.

Sixth Match, Smackdown Challenge: Rey Mysterio Vs Chavo Guerrero.

The Crowd booed Guerrero like never before, really I don't know why but here people is not very fond with him, he was booed in Monterrey in 2004 but not like this. Rey was out later to great crowd response, he came out with suit like the one he used at Wrestlemania 22 but with the Mexican flag colors.

The match itself was very good with some high spots from Mysterio to the outside of the ring, it also had a lot of false finishers. Chavo hit his version of The Three Amigos, a lot of "Chavo Sucks" "Chavo puto" (is like fag or something like that, it has a lot of meanings in Spanish so is hard to translate) chants, he then tried to hit the frog splash, Mysterio got up and hit a top turnbuckle hurracanrana, he then hit another Hurracanrana and the 619, he got to the top turnbuckle and hit the Frog Slash. 1...2..3, it's over.

    Winner by pinfall: Rey Mysterio.

The crowd erupted with joy after Mysterio won, he then acknowledged the crowd and the wrestlers on the front row, thanked us and said "This one is for Eddie".

After that Lilian told us that an intermission will come and after that DX will be Next!

Seventh Match: Intercontinental Championship Match: Johny Nitro (Intercontinental Champion) with Melina Vs Jeff Hardy.

Nitro and Melina were out first, of course Melina got a good reaction, Nitro got the Boos when he covered her with his coat, next out was Jeff to a good crowd reaction.

The match itself was good but a little rough, both men are really fast so at times they crashed into one another, they tried a spot where Nitro tried a superplex on Jeff, Jeff was supposed to go over Nitro's head and give him a slam, both men fell and Jeff put Nitro over his shoulders after he almost hit the mat awkwardly and gave him the slam. The end came after Jeff rolled Nitro and tried to use the trunks, unfortunately for him he pull them so hard that Nitro rolled him and used the trunks too to steal the victory.

Winner by Pinfall and still Intercontinental Champion: Johny Nitro.

Eighth Match: DX Vs Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch.

Are you Ready?....DX came out to a huge crowd reaction. HHH said after they got into the ring "Are you Ready?...Sorry DX no habla espanol", "Are you ready?" The crowd responded positively, "Then for the thousand in attendance, and the millions Not watching at home" That got a lots of laughs from the crowd, "And for Vince McMahon, who we knows likes " crowd: "Cocks", "Lets get ready to Suck it!" Then Michaels got the mike and said "And if you are not down with that, Mexico City has two words for you" crowd "Suck it!", after that they were asking which side of the crowd was louder and HHH threw his T-shirt to our side with a girl catching it. Then out were Cade and Murdoch to not much crowd reaction, since pretty much no one knew who they were.

The match started with a good pace dominated by DX, after a while Cade tripped Shawn, who was preparing to give the "Sweet chin Music" to Murdoch. After that the match was dominated by Cade and Murdoch with good tag team moves. Then after a while Shawn makes the hot tag to HHH after hitting an enzigury to Cade, HHH cleans the house and the end came after HHH gives Murdoch the Pedigree and Shawn super kicks Cade.

    Winners by pinfall: DX.

After the match DX celebrated with the crowd, someone gave them a Mexican Flag with the DX logo on it.

Lilian then prepared us for the main event:

Ninth and final Match: Street fight for the WWE Championship: John Cena (WWE Champion) Vs Edge with Lita.

Edge got out first to a good reaction from the crowd, Next it was John Cena for a Huge pop.

I have to say that Cena is a weird phenomenon, the reaction he generates I mean, of course all kids love him, but from older fans he gets weird reactions. Let me explain, he hits a punch, he get booed, he hits a suplex and gets cheered, he his another suplex and get cheered but he gets up and gets booed.

Edge had to generate heat for him a couple of times, coursing the crowd and once hit Cena with a mike and telling the crowd "Can you see that putos?", this turn the crowd a lot more on Edge and gave Cena a lot of support. Truth be told I was rooting for Edge (knowing that titles don't change hands on house shows and less the bigger one I didn't give a damn) but Cena has improved a lot and generates a lot of reaction. The match was good and had a lot of good moves, the end came when unfortunately Cena tried the FU on Edge and hit the ref, this allowed Lita to interfere and Low blows Cena, then Edge gave him a chair shot, another ref gets out and counts, 1...2...but Cena kicks out. Edge gets upset and hits the new ref, he gets Cena up for Lita to give him her Litacanrrana, that backfired though, Lita hits but does it on Edge, Cena the hits the FU on Lita and later on Edge for the pinfall victory and huge, I mean huge pop.

Winner by pinfall and still WWE Champion: John Cena.

After the match Cena celebrated with the crowd, threw his t-shirt to the crowd and acknowledged the wrestlers in the front row, this kid in front of me started jumping on my face and telling me "Cena won, in your face man!", what can I say? the kids love the guy, and a lot of the older guys do too even if they don't want to admit it. Me? I don't mind Cena that much, I like Edge better, but that is me.

All in all it was a great show. They go to Guadalajara today, then Tijuana and finish in Monterrey on Saturday.

    Biggest Pop:

    1. Rey Mysterio/DX
    2. John Cena.
    3. Randy Orton.
    4. Kane.
    5 Carlito/Edge.

    Biggest Heat:

    1.Chavo Gerrero.
    2. Shelton Benjamin.
    3. Armando Alejandro Estrada.
    4. Edge (coursing and calling the crowd names)/John Cena(like I said, weird).
    5. Referee throwing a Carlito's t-shirt into the first row (because he didn't throw it farther).
