Match 1: Intercontinental Champion Johnny Nitro (w/ Melina) vs. Jeff Hardy
-Hardy chants rang out thru the arena before the opening bell. They circled each other and then locked up. Nitro backed Hardy into the corner, but Hardy reversed. The champion backed out of the ring. Upon re-entry, a second lock-up followed, w/ Nitro giving Hardy a quick hip toss. A “Nitro Sucks” chant erupted. Hardy grabbed a headlock out of another lock-up. Jeff followed with a shoulder tackle and an armdrag takedown. Hardy caught Nitro with another arm drag takedown and bore down on the champ with an armbar. Nitro tried to gain some momentum, but Hardy leapfrogged a splash attempt and connected with another armdrag. Johnny tried to score one of his own, but Hardy dodged the attempt and scored a near fall with an Oklahoma roll. Nitro finally got in some offense with two European uppercuts. He tried for a neckbreaker, but Hardy countered into a backslide. Hardy proceeded to hit his double leg drop to the groin. As the crowd chanted for Hardy, Nitro gave him a hard Irish whip into the turnbuckle and wailed away at him. Hardy came back quickly, though, dodging a Nitro leapfrog attempt and hitting a dropkick that sent the champion sitting in the corner. Jeff mounted Nitro on the turnbuckle for several punches, which he followed with a swinging dropkick. He looked to finish Nitro off with the Swanton, but the champ rolled out of the ring. Jeff stayed on him, though, with a baseball slide and a clothesline off the guardrail. Nitro finally gained some much needed momentum when he showed impressive leaping ability and hit a dropkick on Hardy, despite the challenger being on the top rope. Johnny then pinpointed Hardy’s knee. Jeff tried to come back with an enziguiri, but Nitro dodged it and continued to focus on the leg. At one point, Nitro kicked Hardy’s leg so hard that it sent Jeff flipping over 180 degrees. Hardy was unable to even run the ropes after that move. Nitro then set-up Hardy’s leg on the apron. He vaulted over the top rope and slammed down across Jeff’s knee. Nitro showed impressive ability to work over a body part, as he focused on the injured leg for a good 4-minutes. A “Nitro Sucks” chant broke out again. Hardy refused to give up, despite the torque being placed on his leg. He finally began to kick his way out of Nitro’s sustained offense, but the champion took his legs out from under him with a chop block. Nitro then ascended to the top rope and went for a twisting corkscrew moonsault. Hardy moved out of the way, though, sending Nitro crashing hard on his side. Nitro fought back quickly, looking for a roll thru pin, but Hardy countered and connected on a pinning combo of his own. They battled into the corner in a shaky sequence. Hardy eventually scored a near fall following the Whisper in the Wind. Nitro raked the eyes to regain control and sat Hardy on top turnbuckle. Johnny followed him up top and tried for a top rope hurricanrana, but Hardy held onto the ropes. With Nitro down on the mat, Hardy hit the Swanton Bomb. 1…2…No! Melina put Nitro’s foot on the ropes! Nitro, after recovering, re-focused on Hardy’s injured leg. Hardy hit a twisting mule kick to get out of Nitro’s leg vice and tried for the Twist of Fate. However, Nitro countered and applied a modified ankle lock submission. Dueling chants for each star erupted, as Hardy made his way to the ropes. Nitro got frustrated, but still focused on the leg. Hardy kicked Nitro back straight into Melina, though. Jeff quickly rolled up Nitro and scored another near fall. Nitro recovered and went to the top rope. He came off looking for a head scissor, but Hardy caught him into a powerbomb. He didn’t make the cover, though, allowing Melina to clock him in the face with the title belt. Soon after, Nitro retained the IC title at 17:44. (CMV1 rating- *** ¼) (CMV1 note- That was a damn good match for Intercontinental title. It featured good psychology from Nitro, some nice spots, and most surprisingly, it was a long match. The ending kept the feud going, and based on this match, I’m glad that’s the case. Nitro sure is an impressive young talent)

A preview aired for “The Marine.”

King and JR showed Teddy Long sitting in the arena.

Backstage, Matt Hardy consoled his ailing brother, but then Lita showed up and bashed the two of them for being screw-ups. She said they ought to watch her and Edge win their matches tonight.

Match 2: Umaga (w/ Armando Alejandro Estrada) vs. Kane
-(CMV1 note- prior to Kane’s entrance, AAE cut a promo that questioned Kane’s status as a monster). They locked up with a purpose to start the match, w/ Umaga backing Kane into the corner. However, Kane scored first strike points with several right handed shots. Umaga came back with a chop, but Kane hit an uppercut. They each tried to knock each other down with punches, but it didn’t work. Kane hit a big boot, but Umaga came back with a spinning wheel kick before clotheslining the big man to the outside. AAE tried to choke Kane w/ his jacket, but Kane quickly fended him off. However, the distraction did allow Umaga to hit a Flatliner on the outside floor. Back in the ring, Umaga hit a jumping headbutt. The crowd actually started a small “Umaga” chant. Umaga continued his offensive assault with a running knee strike, similar to the Shining Wizard (only using the knee). With Kane backed up into the corner, Umaga connected on a running hip smash. He tried to follow with the Samoan Spike, but Kane fought back with punches. The two traded shots, but Umaga kept control. He tried for a running splash in the corner, but Kane got his boot up and backed Umaga into the opposite corner. Kane wailed on the Samoan Bulldozer before splashing him in the corner twice and trying to knock him down with a clothesline. Umaga wouldn’t fall, though, and when Kane tried another running clothesline, Umaga countered and hit a Samoan Drop. He then ascended to the second rope for a flying Samoan Spike. Kane sat up, though, causing Umaga to miss. The Big Red Machine hit a top rope clothesline, which finally knocked Umaga down. He then went for the chokeslam, but Umaga blocked it and went for the Spike. Kane blocked that, though, and the two traded blows. Umaga broke away and came charging at Kane for a clothesline. Kane blocked it, caught Umaga, and gave him a modified belly-to-belly suplex that sent him over the top rope and crashing to the floor. The finish came when the two battled out into the crowd, and thus the match ended in a no-contest at 7:10. The two big men continued fighting toward the back, though, much to the dismay of the crowd. (CMV1 rating- **) (CMV1 note- I was quite entertained here, as these guys put on a damn solid match. It wasn’t so much a big man match that I thought they might try, and that worked to their advantage)

Backstage, Vince and Shane hyped their HIAC match. Shane said he and Show would do all the dirty work and allow his dad to make the cover. Vince didn’t like that idea and said he’d partake in the dirty work…

Match 3: World Tag Team Champions The Spirit Squad vs. The Highlanders
-(CMV1 note- the two members of the Squad competing officially in this match were Kenny and Mikey). Rory caught Mikey with an early sunset flip for a one-count. Mikey used an elbow to get his offense going, but missed on a splash attempt in the corner. Rory used Robby’s head as a battering ram. Robby tagged in and used his head to work over Mikey’s arm. Rory came back in and connected on headbutt from the second rope. Robby tagged right back in and hit a headbutt from the top rope. Mikey escaped the assault and tagged Kenny, but Kenny walked right into more offense from the Highlanders. Rory and Robby took turns throwing each other shoulder first into Kenny’s mid-section. Robby hit a double knee smash on Kenny in the corner, and then tagged Rory, who did the same. They followed with a double drop toehold for a near fall. Kenny tried to get his team back in the match, but Robby drilled him with a dropkick. Kenny ended up on the outside and Robby followed with a Suicide Dive. Unfortunately for Robby, Kenny moved out of the way and sent Robby crashing hard to the floor. The Squad took control from there. Mikey draped Robby’s mid-section across the top rope and kicked away at him. Kenny and Mikey proceeded to hit a double team move, in which Kenny backflipped Mikey over into a body splash. They then connected on another double team, in which Kenny tossed a running Mikey into the air for a body splash in the corner. They tried one more, in which Kenny laid down Hardy Boyz style near Robby in the corner. However, when Mikey tried for the jumping clothesline off Kenny’s back, Robby moved out of the way. The Squad maintained control, though, and prevented the tag. Mikey and Kenny hit the Hart Attack for a near fall. Kenny hit a swinging neckbreaker and went to the top for that nice leg drop of his. Robby moved out of the way, though, and tagged Rory. Rory dominated Mikey, eventually hitting him with a flapjack. He then sent Kenny over the top rope onto his Spirit Squad buddies. The Highlanders went on to hit Mikey with a double reverse suplex, but Kenny stopped the ensuing cover. The finish came when Johnny hit Rory from behind w/ a martial arts kick, allowing Mikey to pick up the pin after a modified X-Factor. The Squad retained at 9:59. (CMV1 rating- * ½) (CMV1 note- pretty much as good as you could’ve expected, w/ some nice double team moves from the Squad)

A hype video was shown for the HIAC match…

Match 4: Hell in a Cell Match- Degeneration X vs. ECW Champion Big Show and the McMahons
-(CMV1 note- the Cell was a bit different. JR described it as being 20-feet higher. It looked it, I guess, as it definitely had a sturdier and steeper look). Big Show stepped in front of the Macs, urging DX to attack him. They did just that, with a double low blow. HBK went after Vince, while Trips went after Shane. They then focused their attention on Shane, as a “You Screwed Bret” chant erupted. HBK tossed Shane over the top rope. HHH, meanwhile, went after VKM. After getting the Macs on the outside, DX hit another double low blow on Big Show. HBK threw Shane into the ring post and then fought with him on the apron. Shawn then used the ropes to vault Shane off the apron and into the steel. All the while, Trips was hitting hard punches on Vince’s skull. Each McMahon was busted open in the attacks. HBK raked Shane’s face on the cage. Trips, meanwhile, pinpointed Vince’s wound with his fist before rubbing his face on the cage. HBK tossed Shane into the side of the cell. Triple H got a screwdriver and drove the tip of it into Vince’s open wound. HBK punched away at Shane’s wound at the opposite side of the cell. Back in the ring, HHH slammed Vince so that HBK could hit him with the elbow drop. However, Big Show got to his feet and caught HBK in mid-air. He slammed HBK to the mat and tossed Triple H out of the ring. Show followed Trips to the outside. HBK tried to aid his friend with a plancha to the outside, but Show caught him and tried to throw him into the Cell. HBK countered, though, and DX combined to toss Show into the cage and then into the steel steps. Back in the ring again, Trips hit a knee drop on Vince, while HBK mounted Shane for several punches in the corner. Show came back in the ring and clotheslined HBK and Trips. Shane got in on the action and clotheslined HBK over the top rope and into the steel. Big Show connected on several headbutts in a row on Trips, causing the 10-time champ to go weak at the knees. Shane took advantage and stomped away at the Game. The crowd got behind Shane with a faint chant. Trips then found himself victim to a chokeslam from the Big Show. Show went outside and retrieved HBK soon after. The ECW Champ flipped Michaels up into powerbomb position, but continued the upward momentum so that HBK’s face struck the cage. Back in the ring, Shane wailed away at Triple H. HBK, at that point, was bleeding. He was then thrown head-first into the side of the cell. Vince got in a few shots on Triple H. Show joined the fray, making it three-on-one. After Show hit another headbutt, Shane went to the outside and grabbed a trash can. Vince and Show set the trash can up on Trips, who was sitting in the corner. Shane went to the perpendicular corner and drilled Trips with a coast-to-coast Van Terminator. Trips was bleeding from the ear after that shot. Show then tossed HBK back into the ring. He and Shane held Shawn so that Vince could take free shots at him. Shane proceeded to retrieve the ring steps. Vince brought Trips to the outside, where the McMahons connected on an Irish Whip into a clothesline double team. Shane then catapulted Trips off the ring steps and into the steel. Show, meanwhile, was handling HBK in the ring. The ECW Champ hit the Vader Bomb on HBK in the corner. Vince went for the pin, but before the ref could count to three, he pulled Shawn off the mat. Show then hit his Cobra Clutch into a backbreaker over the knee finisher. He followed with a leg drop. Vince again went for the cover only to pull HBK off the mat before the three count. Show tried to keep their momentum going, but Trips recovered and pulled down the rope so that Show, who was running the ropes, went careening to the outside. The Game drilled Vince with a facebuster and went for the Pedigree. However, Shane prevented the finisher and struggled before hitting a nice Torture Rack into a falling neckbreaker. HBK tried to pick up the slack when he hit Shane w/ an enziguiri, but Show and Vince came back and stopped DX’s momentum. Vince pulled his pants down and wanted Show to shove HBK’s face in it, but Trips recovered and clocked him. Show didn’t allow any sustained offense, though. Vince then instructed Show to splash HBK. VKM held Michaels, but when Show went for the move, Shawn simultaneously moved and pulled Vince into Show’s splash. Show slammed down across the chairman, the surprise of which gave DX the chance to pull Show balls-first into the ring post. HBK proceeded to hit Shane w/ a flying forearm and an inverted atomic drop. HHH followed with a spinebuster and set Shane up in the center of the ring for an elbow drop, but not before setting a chair up around Shane’s neck. HBK drilled the elbow drop onto the chair, causing Shane to come away bleeding from the mouth. DX then targeted Vince, w/ HBK setting up Sweet Chin Music for Vince. Big Show recovered, though, and pulled HBK out of the ring. He brought the steel steps in the ring and screamed a mighty scream. Triple H, though, smacked Show in the mid-section with a steel chair. Show fell to the mat with his face in the crevice of the steps. Trips slammed him over the head with the chair. As Show stood up, HBK drilled him with the superkick. Vince, meanwhile, made it to his feet and stared down both DX members with a defiant smirk. DX looked at Vince and made their way over to Big Show, who was draped across the top rope. They exposed Show’s bare ass and turned back toward Vince. DX gave Vince the crotch chop and slammed his face into Big Show’s ass. Vince came away disgusted and screaming. Trips, meanwhile, grabbed the sledgehammer from under the ring. HBK set-up and drilled Vince with Sweet Chin Music, which Triple H followed by breaking the sledgehammer over Vince’s back. The finish came when Trips pinned Vince. Both McMahons were stretchered out after the match. DX defeated Show, Vince, and Shane at 25:23. (CMV1 rating- *** ¾) (CMV1 note- It was as exciting as it was going to be without any huge bumps. One would think that the damage done to the McMahons would effectively end this feud, and I would hope that is the case. This was a fitting payoff match to this summer-long storyline)

A promo aired for Wrestlemania’s return to Detroit…

A hype video featured highlights from Trish’s career and feud w/ Lita leading up to her final match…

Match 5: Women’s Champion Lita vs. Trish Stratus
-A “Thank You Trish” chant rang out before she even made her entrance. The chants continued as the match go underway. A lock-up started it off, but Lita gained early momentum with a couple of shoves. Trish came exploding back after one of the them with a hard clothesline. A unique head scissor followed, sending Lita to the outside. Trish followed her out with a Thesz press off the apron. She kept her offense going when she caught Lita with the Stratusphere off the steel steps. Back in the ring, Lita regained control some a few hard shots the Trish’s back. She slammed her challenger’s face into the mat and then choked her across the second rope. Lita drove her knee down across Trish’s neck and synched in a chin lock. Trish elbowed her way out, but Lita used a hair pull to keep Trish grounded. Stratus came back with several stomps in the corner and multiple knife-edge chops. She followed with a splash in the corner before attempting the Stratusphere again when Lita made her way to the top rope. Lita countered, though, and pulled Trish up to the top rope with her. They fought and eventually came crashing off the top, down to the apron, and then to the floor. Lita recovered first and went back up to the top rope. Trish followed her up there, but Lita came down to the apron and threw Trish down to the mat. Lita then attempted a moonsault from the top, but missed when Trish moved out of the way. Stratus scored a near fall and went for the Stratusfaction. Lita countered, though, and tossed the challenger to the outside. The champion taunted the crowd, as she went outside to retrieve Trish and toss her back in the ring. Lita continued her assault on her oldest rival, pulling her by the hair and punching her in the face. She connected on a snap suplex for a near fall and continued stomping away. Again, she drove her knee into Trish’s back and neck areas. Trish battled back for a short time, but Lita countered her offense and hit a side Russian leg sweep. Lita synched in a chin lock again in an attempt to wear down her weakened challenger. Trish battled back, though, and hit a falling neckbreaker. Once to their feet, the divas traded blows, w/ Lita eventually gaining the advantage. She went to the second rope, but Trish caught her with the Stratusphere. Trish followed with the Chick Kick. 1…2…No! Lita kicked out, but Trish again went for the Stratusfaction! Lita countered, but Trish countered in kind and caught her with a sunset flip. Lita countered that, though, and went for a cheap roll-up. Trish countered the roll-up and locked in the Sharpshooter on Lita for the tap-out victory! Trish defeated Lita to become Women’s champion at 11:40. (CMV1 rating- ** ¾) (CMV1 note- Well, that was one of the best and longest women’s matches I’ve seen…a fitting ending to Trish’s career. Trish is gone from the WWE. It was basically Trish Stratus who made me enjoy women’s wrestling. I can remember when she was horrible in the ring, but she worked her ass off and honestly became the best in-ring performing female that I’ve seen in my 18-19 years as a WWE fan. In addition to her in-ring work, she also managed to become a great heel character when she turned in 2004. That was great…and it will be a long time before another female comes around that I’ll enjoy watching as much as I enjoyed watching Trish. Best of luck, Trish)

Backstage, Todd Grisham interviewed Randy Orton. Orton congratulated Trish, but said no one really cared about her retirement. He said that she was the past, and if you wanted to talk about the past, you had to talk about Orton winning the title two years ago in this very arena. He said he’d make Carlito his bitch tonight…

Match 6: Carlito vs. Randy Orton
-They gave each other cocky looks as the opening bell sounded. Randy backed Carlito into the corner after a lock-up. A second lock-up sent them into the opposite corner. A third lock-up sent them into a stand-off. Carlito spit on Orton and then took him down to the mat. Orton scampered to the outside to wipe off his face. Back in the ring, Carlito vaulted into a back flip onto his feet out of a springboard. Orton ducked under it, but got caught with a drop kick. Randy got him with a thumb to the eye, but Carlito soon came back with a body slam into a springboard twisting Senton Splash. CCC followed with a Lionsault for a near fall. Carlito continued his offense with a knife-edge chop. He tried for a running clothesline, but Orton back dropped him over the top rope. Carlito landed on the apron, but Orton hung his neck up over the top rope and dropkicked him off the apron and to the floor. Back in the ring, Orton worked over Carlito’s right leg before connecting on a jumping knee drop. Randy, who was bleeding from the mouth, synched in a rear chinlock. Carlito got to his feet and hit a running knee lift. He tried to capitalize with another running move, but Orton caught him with a powerslam for a near fall. Back to the chinlock Orton went. Carlito again gained a vertical base, but Orton raked him in the eyes. Orton went for a back drop, but Carlito flipped over and out of it. Carlito hit a springboard back elbow, running knee lift, and a running clothesline to regain total momentum. He eventually hit a jumping flatliner-type move for a near fall, but Orton came back with his patented and unique backbreaker. The Legend Killer then poised himself for the RKO, but his attempt was blocked and turned into the Back Cracker. Carlito was unable to go for the cover, though, so he went to the second rope and attempted a springboard corkscrew Senton. However, in mid-air Orton countered and hit the RKO for the win! Orton defeated Carlito at 8:52. (CMV1 rating- ** ½) (CMV1 note- not nearly long enough to reach its potential, but the match was good while it lasted and featured a finish that could end up on the Raw intro for years to come)

JR and King showed Teddy Long in a sky box, and then introduced a hype video highlighting the events that led to the TLC Championship match…

Match 7: Tables, Ladders, and Chairs Match- WWE Champion Edge vs. John Cena
-The “Cena Sucks” chants rang out before Cena even came out, and when he did he got a very loud series of “Boos.” Edge got a very nice reaction and looked emotional about it. His emotions turned to a cocky grin as the match began. They circled the wagons and locked up in the center of the ring. Cena grabbed a headlock and eventually took Edge down with a shoulder block. Another headlock and another shoulder block followed. And then another shoulder block…but Edge got his heel tactics going with a hard slap across Cena’s face. Cena came back with a knock down and several punches, but Edge scored with a swinging neckbreaker. To the outside they went, where Edge poked Cena in the gut with a chair. He swung for the fences, but missed and hit the ring post. Back in the ring, Cena tried to get his repertoire going, but Edge hit the Impaler DDT. Edge then went the outside and grabbed two chairs, which he set-up in the middle of the ring. He went for a suplex onto the chairs, but Cena countered and went for the same move. Edge countered and hit a reverse falling DDT onto the two chairs. He then got a ladder and climbed up to the third rung. Cena knocked the ladder down, but Edge landed on his feet and drilled Cena with a running clothesline. Edge proceeded to drape Cena’s neck across the second rope, go to the outside, and smash Cena in the face with a ladder. He set the ladder against Cena’s head and climbed up onto the guard rail. The champion then hit a nice missile dropkick off the guardrail and into the ladder (further into Cena’s face). The crowd chanted for Edge, as he tried to use a ladder as a battering ram. Cena moved out of the way and hip tossed Edge onto the propped up ladder. Noticing two tables set-up on the outside floor, Cena hoisted Edge up for the FU. He tried to hit his finish thru the tables, but Edge countered and landed on the apron. Cena tried to knock him backwards thru the tables, but Edge hit a desperation forearm and went to the top rope. Cena crotched him on the turnbuckle, though, and grabbed a table from the outside. The former champ set-up the table and then went to the top to suplex the current champ. Cena tried, but Edge blocked it and attempted a sunset flip powerbomb that was supposed to send Cena thru the table. It didn’t work, though, and the crowd let them know it. Edge recovered and hit a body slam thru the table. Cena rolled to the outside. Edge followed him out by jumping off a propped up ladder in the corner and giving him a cross body block. Nice! Edge retrieved two more chairs, as small dueling Cena chants broke out. The champ destroyed Cena with a hard chair shot and set-up a one-man Conchairto. Cena rolled out of the way, though, and eventually hit a Throwback that sent Edge’s face crashing into one of the folded chairs. He then placed Edge in between the legs of a ladder and slammed them down into an Edge sandwich. Cena proceeded to make Edge tap to the STFU while he was still in b/t the ladder legs, but of course submissions don’t matter. He followed by drilling Edge b/t the eyes with the end of the ladder and then slamming the ladder hard over the champion’s chest. Cena set-up the ladder in the corner and gave Edge a Prototype spinning backbreaker. He started to go for the Five Knuckle Shuffle as he usually does, but he stopped and climbed the ladder instead. Cena then hit the fist drop from the top of the ladder and went outside to retrieve another table. He brought it into the ring and set it up, but while he was doing so Edge got a chair and drilled him in the face with it. Edge gave a cocky smile and walked off the cob webs before placing Cena onto the table he’d just set-up. The champ went to the outside and grabbed another table, which he set-up on top of the table that Cena was laying on. Edge went to the top rope and looked for a splash, but Cena got up and knocked him off the turnbuckle and down to the guardrail. Cena went to the outside, but didn’t attack Edge. Instead, he got a very large ladder from under the ring and pushed it into the ring. Cena began to climb the ladder after he set it up in the center of the ring. Edge, though, climbed the ladder that was still set up in the corner (the one Cena hit the fist drop off of), made it to the top, and came flying off with a diving Spear onto Cena. Both men were down at that point for an extended period. Edge made it to his feet first and began climbing the taller ladder. Cena made it to his feet, too, though. Edge noticed and tried jump off and attack Cena, but Cena caught him in mid-air and tried to give him the FU. Edge made it back to the ladder, though, and tried to climb away. Cena pulled him off into powerbomb position and tossed him into the ladder in the corner. Edge rolled to the outside. Cena followed and drilled him over the head with a chair shot. The crowd didn’t like it, but Cena went back into the ring and climbed the ladder anyway. He made it to the top of the ladder and had the match won, but Lita came from out of nowhere and tipped the ladder backwards. Cena went flying off the ladder, over the top rope, and thru a table set-up on the floor!!! In the words of Joey Styles: “OH MY GOD!” Edge, meanwhile, got back in the ring and tried to re-set the ladder. He got it set-up, but Cena made it back into the ring. Lita drilled Cena with a chair shot to the back, but the momentum sent Cena into the ladder that Edge was climbing. Thus, Edge went flying off the ladder, over the top rope, and thru a table set-up near the ring entrance! OMG! Cena then gave Lita an FU and looked torn as to what he should do: go after Edge or win the match. Cena did the smart thing and climbed the ladder, but Edge came back in the ring and climbed the other side of it. They both got near the top and punched away at each other. Edge got hold of the belt, but Cena grabbed him and put him into FU position. He then gave Edge the FU thru the two tables stacked on top of each other in the ring!! Edge rules!!! The finish came soon after when Cena grabbed the belt to become WWE Champion at 25:39. (CMV1 rating- **** ½) (CMV1 note- Holy Shit that was a great match! Minus the somewhat botched spot early on with the sunset flip powerbomb, this had some great spots. Both men took some good bumps, but Edge stole the show with his willingness to take these bumps after having taken some huge bumps in his career already. Edge, my man, you’ve arrived as the top guy in this business in my mind. Well done to both men)

Backstage Segments and Interviews (CMV1 rating- ***) (CMV1 note- There wasn’t a whole lot of backstage stuff at this PPV, but the Team Xtreme reunion and Orton interviews were enough to give an above average rating. I actually prefer the limited backstage skits on PPV)

0-1.5 stars = Demand a refund and don't take no for an answer. If it was this bad, they should pay you to watch the next two PPVs, at least. (Great American Bash 2005)
1.75-2.25 stars = A below average PPV that wasn't worth the money spent watching. (Great American Bash 2006)
2.5-2.75 stars = An average to above average event that was worth watching on that given night. (Wrestlemania 22, Summerslam 2006)
3.0-3.50 = A really good show that you'd buy on DVD and watch again (Summerslam 2002, No Way Out 2006)
3.75-5.0 = You never thought a PPV could be this good...

Unforgiven 2006’s Final Score = *** (CMV1 note- this was a really good show featuring, in my mind, a match of the year candidate TLC match, a very entertaining HIAC, a fitting farewell to Trish Stratus, and a damn fine opening IC title match. The other three matches were all fine, too. I walked away from this event feeling like I just saw one of the better PPVs of the year. You have to hand it to the Raw brand for this one, and I wish they’d put more effort into events not held in Toronto…or just go to Toronto more often. Great crowd and a damn fine PPV)
