WWE House Show Results from Erie, Pennsylvania 8-27-06

LOP reader Shane Decker sent in the following report:


Show opened with Howard Finkel comming out to Welcome to the Jungle. He announced that because of their actions last monday night Degeneration X would be forced to run the gauntlet and partake in 3 different matches against 3 different teams. After that we got under way:



Match 1: Rob Conway vs Hacksaw Jim Duggan
Conway came out first and was playing face until Hacksaw came out then Conway switched to Heel mode. Hacksaw did alot of his usual "hos" and "USA" chants along with chasing Conway with his 2X4. Very slow and boring match. Finish saw Hacksaw win with the 3 point stance.
Winner: Hacksaw Jim Duggan



Match 2: WWE Womans Title match Lita vs Trish Stratus
A lot of Lita being dominate with Trish hitting some of her usual spots (i.e. the handstand hurricanrana). Finish had Trish go for the Stratus faction but Lita reversed it into a pin and held onto the Ropes.
Winner: Lita



Match 3: Non-Title Tag team match Kenny and Mickey of the Spirit Squad vs The Highlanders
Pretty sold tag match with the face in peril throughout. The 3 other members of the Spirit Squad got ejected after Mitch hit one of the Highlanders with his megaphone tube and the ref asked the crowd what happened. The Highlanders hit their new move the double reverse suplex bouncing off the ropes to get the pinfall victory.
Winners: The Highlanders



Match 4 Triple Threat Match for the WWE Intercontinental Title Carlito vs Jeff Hardy vs Johnny Nitro w/Melina
By far match of the night. Alot great spots. Begining of the match Nitro was posing on the outside of the ring letting Carlito and Hardy duke it out. But then they grabbed Nitro and brought him into the ring the hard way. Melina came in to save Nitro and Carlito grabbed her from behind and pretended to trip backwards and fall with her landing on top of him. In the end Hardy hit the Swanton on Carlito and when he got up Nitro threw him out of the ring and got the pin on Carlito. After the match there was a confrontation between Hardy and Carlito but in the end they shoke hands and left.
Winner: Johnny Nitro


10 minute intermission


After intermission Torrie Wilson comes out to shoot T-Shirts into the crowd. When she ran out of shirts she was gonna give us the shirt she was wearing. But before she could take it off Jerry Jarrett's gift to the WWE Oleg came out. Big boy this guy was. But with his thick accent and the Erie Civic Center's crappy sound system you couldn't understand a word he said and the crowd chanted "What" at him. Eugene came out to save Torrie with a huge sucker in his mouth and we got ourselves a match.



Match 5: Oleg vs Eugene
Very Boring match. Alot of Oleg dominating. Oleg took Eugene's sucker and stomped on it then hit his finisher which was a Torture Rack into a back breaker. After the match Eugene cried over his sucker.
Winner: Oleg




Match 6: Degeneration X vs Vis/Haas
DX's music hit and all the lights went out and green spotlights where going throughout the arena and when DX came out the small crowd went nuts and you thought you were in a sold out arena. When they got into the ring they did their usual "Lets get ready to suck it!" and "if your not down with that.." Vis and Haas came out next. Shawn played face in peril with Haas mimicing his poses. alot of luring Triple H into the ring so they can double team Shawn. Shawn got the hot tag and in the end Triple H hit the pedigree on Haas with HBK giving Sweet Chin Music to Vis. Vis stumples around and lands on Haas then DX sits on them both to pin them.
Winners: Degeneration X




Match 7: DX vs Murdoc and Cade
Shawn Micheals plays face in peril again. But alot quicker of a match with HBK hitting sweet chin music for the pin.
Winners Degenration X




Match 8: DX vs Umaga and Estrada
Cade and Murdoc put a beating on DX after their match and leave Micheals down in the ring. And Triple H down on the outside after hitting the stairs. Umaga and Estrada come out and put a beating on HBK. Triple H tries to save but gets a beating too. Finally DX gets the upper hand and Shawn hits sweet chin music on Umaga but he doesn't go down so Triple H throws him outside the ring and hits the pedigree on Estrada for the win.
Winners Degeneration X

After the match DX poses for a few minutes and go around shaking hands.




Match 9 WWE title Edge vs John Cena
Edge comes out first and during his entrances Ricky Steamboat comes out and says something to Finkel. After Edge is in the ring and before Cena comes out Finkel announces that he has just been informed that this match is now a last man standing match! Cena comes out to a good pop and wastes no time trying to go after Edge. They brawl through the crowd, up the aisle and in the ring. Ref Bump comes(doesn't make sense in a last man standing match b/c its anything goes). Cena hits the FU and there is no ref so the crowd counts until finally another ref comes out to count and Edge gets up at 8. Edge gets the upper hand and brings the steps in the ring. He looks to Spear Cena on the steps but Cena sidesteps and drop toe holds Edge on the steps. Both men are down. Cena gets up at 6 but the ref is to busy counting Edge. So without the ref looking Lita hits Cena in the back of the head with the belt and Cena goes down. Edge up at 9 and the ref turns to see Cena down at 10.
Winner and still WWE champ: Edge
