UFC News: UFC 61 (Shamrock vs. Ortiz) does astounding buyrate

UFC's record-breaking 2006 apparently carried through to UFC 61 as a report in the Wrestling-Observer Newsletter states that the show did an estimated 775,000 buys.
If the number holds up, it would further cement UFC's status as a pay-per-view heavyweight. With live events that draw more PPV money than most boxing and pro wrestling shows, UFC is quickly assuming control of the premium fight world.
UFC will not top the 775,000 number with Saturday's UFC 62 event, but if it follows in the footsteps of the other five events this year, it will post a buyrate that would have seemed unattainable just a few years ago.
