ECW August 15, 2006 Washington, D.C.:
They recap last weeks #1 contenders match between Sabu and Kurt Angle, also RVD's return.
Tonight Angle vs. Sabu vs. RVD in a #1 contenders ladder match.
Paul Heyman and The Big Show are backstage. Heyman said Angle suffered a groin tear injury. Heyman said he has to remove Angle from tonights ladder match. (That sucks!)
ECW intro is shown.
Mick Foley's music hits and he makes his way to the ring. They recap Foley's beatdown on Flair last night on Raw. Foley says he invited Flair to show up tonight but Flair declined. Foley says he knows Flair has a lot of guts but he's not showing up tonight because he's at home resting and trying to heal his injuries sustained from Foley last night on Raw. Foley said Flair called him a knowbody until he was thrown off of a hell in a cell by The Undertaker. He says he fought back that night with injuries. Foley said he didn't quit taht night because of the fact is if he did he would have thought less of himself. Foley says Flair can't beat him and that "I quit" isn't in his vocabulary. But for tonight Foley has promised something a little extreme. He introduces Kelly Kelly. Kelly comes down to the ring looking hot as ever. Foley then invited Melina out! Melina comes out to MNM's music and does her split legged entrance for the ECW fans. Foley announces a three way dance! Music hits and Melina, Kelly, and Foley dance together. Foley dances laughably bad as Melina and Kelly are dancing very sexy. Ric Flair's music hits and he runs down to the ring and attacks Foley. Flair nails Foley with two low blows and throws Foley into the ring steps on the outside. Flair takes off his belt and whips Foley with it. Flair then chokes Foley with the belt and ties it to the ring post. Foley is bleeding. Flair says that Foley's gonna quit and yells at a fan telling him to kiss his ass as Melina checks on Foley. (Really good segment to start out the show. Foley/Flair "I Quit" match at SS will tear the house down!)
CM Punk is in action next!

"The Reject" Shannon Moore talks backstage saying questioned authority.
Match 1: CM Punk vs. Justin Credible
They show Credible talking earlier saying Punk's win over him two weeks ago was a fluke. Credible slaps Punk but Punk snapmares Credible in return. He covers and gets a two. Punk kicks Credible right in the face in the corner. He covers and gets another two. Credible gets his knee up when Punk jumped off the rope and covered for two. Credible locks in a arm lock. CM counters with an arm drag. Credible counters and nails a DDT for a two count. Punk comes back with a high knee in the corner and another kick in the face. Punk follows up with the uranagi and locks in the Anaconda Vice and Justin taps.
Winner: CM Punk
Rating: 1/2 * (Not as good as CM's debut match but ok action.)
They show an RVD video showcasing his talents.
Backstage RVD is sitting on a ladder and says he wants to be the ECW Champion again. He says nothing will stop him and after he beats Sabu tonight he'll beat Big Show at SummerSlam and once again the new ECW Champion will be RVD.
-Commercial-
Backstage Rene Dupree is shown taking pictures. He says he's the most hardcore wrestler to ever step foot in an ECW ring. (Yeah right.)
Match 2: F.B.I. vs. Test and Mike Knox with Kelly Kelly
Knox and Guido start out. Guido kicks at Knox but Knox comes back and lands a back breaker on his knee. Tag to Test. They throw Guido hard in the corner. Test nails two back breakers and a side slam for a two count. Guido nails an elbow and tags to Mamaluke. Test throws Mamaluke to the mat and nails a big boot to Guido. Test picks up Mamaluke and nails the spinning TKO for the win.
Winners: Test and Mike Knox
Rating: 1/4 * (Just a short tag team squash to push Test and Knox as a strong tag team.)
Tommy Dreamer and The Sandman show up and run Test and Knox out of the ring. Dreamer and Sandman dare Test and Knox to enter the ring again. Knox is shielding himself using Kelly to protect him and he and Test walk off to the back.
Next Sabu vs. RVD in a #1 contenders ladder match.
-Commercial-
They show a video of Sabu showcasing his talents much like RVD's video from earlier.
Backstage Sabu says he needs to be ECW Champion. He says he'll do anything and at SummerSlam he will beat Big Show.
There's a contract in the air. The one who grabs it faces The Big Show at SummerSlam for the ECW Championship.
Backstage Heyman, Big Show, and Heyman's guards are talking when Kurt Angle appears and takes out Heyman's guards and then punches away at Show. Security break the two up and handcuff Kurt. Angle still tries to go after Show. Heyman says he's going to crucify Kurt.
Match 3: #1 Contenders Ladder Match: Rob Van Dam vs. Sabu
-Commercial-
They do some mat work. RVD lands a side kick and a leg drop. RVD puts an elbow to Sabu's face in the corner and climbs up top. Sabu jumps up at RVD but misses him. RVD tries to jump off the top rope and grab the contract without a ladder but misses it far away! Sabu jumps on a chair and clotheslines RVD over the top rope. RVD fights back but Sabu jumps on the ropes and jumps off landing a DDT. Sabu goes for the ladder but RVD lands a baseball slide to the ladder causing Sabu to fall down. RVD jumps over the ropes and nails a crossbody to Sabu who was holding the ladder. Both are down and out.
-Commercial-
RVD puts Sabu on the fan barricade and lands a spinning leg drop off the apron unto Sabu's back. Sabu dropkicks RVD's knee and Van Dam falls face first unto the ladder. Sabu leg drops Van Dam face first into the ladder using the chair for advantage. Sabu puts on the cobra clutch. Sabu tries to jump on the ladder but slips over it messing up the move. RVD throws Sabu face first into the ladder. Van Dam monkey flipped the ladder into Sabu! RVD hits his own face as well with the ladder on that move. RVD misses rolling thunder and nails his body weight on the ladder instead of Sabu. Sabu jumps on a chair and nails the triple jump moonsault. Sabu jumps off the top rope and goes for a leg drop with the chair but RVD moves and Sabu nails the ladder instead. RVD sets up the ladder and climbs but Sabu pulls RVD off hard. Sabu throws the ladder into RVD's face. RVD kicks Sabu and goes up top and nails the five star frog splash. RVD sets up the ladder once again and climbs and is about to reach the contract when The Big Show runs into the ring and catches RVD and throws him into a table at ringside. Show is motioning the contract to lower. It does and Sabu jumps off the top rope but Show catches him. Sabu takes the advantage using Show's 7 foot height and grabs the contract!
Winner: Sabu
Rating: ** 1/2 (Good ladder match but had alot of mistakes as well. When Sabu slipped off the ladder was probably the biggest one though. I'm pissed Angle wasn't involved as then it would have been a better contest.)
Show powerbombs Sabu and then chokeslams him on the SummerSlam contract. Show grabs RVD and throws him back in the ring and chokeslams him as well. Show stands tall looking at his work. Sabu gets up and his music hits as we go to a close.
Overall this was an ok show. The main event was good but being Angle is my all time favorite and not being able to see him in my first ECW report review sucks. But still RVD and Sabu performed some really clever spots so props to them. CM Punk is money and if they continue to use him he should do pretty good in ECW. I like how they use Test and Mike Knox as well and they have a nice little fued with Sandman and Dreamer to fill out time on the next couple of ECW shows. The opening segment with Flair/Foley was very good and showed that Flair has a chance against Foley in this "I Quit" match. It doesn't hurt to start off a show with Melina and Kelly dancing just not Mick Foley!
Overall Rating: 6.5
See you all for Smackdown!
