Clips are shown of last week's match between Tommy Dreamer & Sandman vs. Mike Knox and Test with Dreamer being thrown through the barb-wired wall by Heyman's Enforcers and Test's aftermath on Dreamer.

LIVE from Nashville, TN, it's ECW on Sci-Fi and tonight for the first time ever it's Kurt Angle vs. Sabu to decide the #1 contender for the ECW title.

Mike Knox & Kelly Kelly come to the ring for the first match followed by his battered and bruised opponent, Tommy Dreamer. The match was back and forth and then Paul Heyman and his Enforcers came out. Paul Heyman distracted the referee and Dreamer DDT'd Knox and went for the pin when the Enforcers pulled him out of the ring and assaulted him. They rolled him back in and Mike Knox pinned Tommy Dreamer @ 2:20. Heyman and his Enforcers stand over Dreamer and Heyman screamed to Tommy "do you feel my pain now?" and then Sandman's music hits as he makes his way to the ring through the crowd as we go to break.

Back from break with Sandman standing guard over Tommy Dreamer in the corner with his cane. Heyman's on the mic and tells Sandman that he knows he's upset and that Tommy was a friend of his too. He was going to order a rematch of last week for tonight but he couldn't possibly subject Tommy to that after the beating he's taken. But the fans are going to get a match. It's going to Sandman taking on Mike Knox AND Test and this is not Extreme Rules so the Singapore cane is not allowed. Ring the bell, the match is next! While the refs help Dreamer to the back, Test kicks him in the head while he was making his way down to the ring. After being double-teamed, Sandman grabs his cane and nails Knox & Test and gets disqualified @ 1:57.

Promo of Sabu with clips of his willingness to injury himself to hurt somebody. Then clips are shown on Sabu's recent attacks on the Big Show. Sabu is shown in the back saying that all he was asking for was a title shot. Big Show avoided him, but after he beats Kurt Angle tonight, he'll finally get what he wants.

Still to come tonight, the #1 contendar's match - Sabu vs. Kurt Angle.

    Commercial of SummerSlam is shown.

Commercial advertising next Wednesday's special on USA of the WWE Diva Search finals (finally, it's coming to an end!).

Balls Mahoney does a short promo in the back saying he can be pretty (shows his "smile") or maybe not so handsome (pulls back his hair to reveal the scars on his forehead).

Kevin Thorn vs. Al Snow. Thorn pretty much controlled the entire match and pinned Al Snow @ 2:50 with his "Razor's Edge". After the match, he and Ariel rubbed on each other.

Clips are shown of the "new vision of ECW" Kurt Angle. Kurt Angle in the back talks about the only thing homicidal about Sabu is him stepping into the ring with the wrestling machine.

Back from break with Rene Dupree in the back saying he's about to be the most extreme player in ECW.

Big Show heads to the ring with a big smile on his face. He grabs the mic and says he's here to add some class to this organization. If Kurt Angle gets in his path, he will crush him like crackers for his soup. If Sabu gets in his path, it will be suicidal for him. There's only one extreme truth and nobody, I MEAN NOBODY can beat me.

Coming up next, it's the #1 contender's match - Sabu vs. Kurt Angle.

Promo of John Cena vs. Edge at SummerSlam.

Promo of McMahons vs. DX at SummerSlam.

Back from break and clips are shown of CM Punk's debut last week. He's in the back saying he was welcomed into the ECW family more than his own family and for the fans, he thanks them. Next week, he gets to wrestle (did he say wrestle in ECW?!) for a second time - he has to make the most of it, it's in his nature because he IS CM Punk.

Main event between Sabu and Kurt Angle. Pretty solid back and forth match with both men taking some hard hits. Match comes to an end (@ 14:10) when Kurt Angle has the ankle lock on Sabu when Rob Van Dam runs to the ring and nails Kurt Angle with a chair and then does a leg drop with the chair on Kurt Angle. He then runs and dropkicks Sabu, who's down in the corner, with the chair. The show ends with RVD standing over both men.

All in all, it's tough to really get into it because once you are getting into it, the match is over and there's a commercial. Before the 10:30 mark, there were 3 different commercial breaks, which I know isn't totally unusual but it is when you've also already had 3 matches. But, pretty decent show. SummerSlam's close and they're really pushing it to the last minute with announcing matches. RVD's back and I'm sure he'll be involved somehow with the ECW belt.
