WWE News: Clarification regarding Kurt Angle's jump to ECW

While many assumed that Kurt Angle was moved to the ECW brand as a way to limit further wear-and-tear of his body, that is not at all the case according to PWTorch.com.
Although Angle will work shorter TV tapings and fewer pay-per-views, WWE will be taking ECW on the road all summer, so he will be wrestling a full-time schedule. Unless he negotiated a new, unique deal with WWE, he will essentially be working an equally grueling schedule without the paydates associated with pay-per-view shows.
WWE moved Kurt Angle to ECW for the sake of giving the brand main-event-level name value. While WWE is committed to keeping the ECW image somewhat genuine, it naturally wants to hedge its bets by featuring some star power that will attract modern pro wrestling fans unfamiliar with the hook of the original ECW.
